24.01.2022 Today we celebrated our first Friday back at Breakfast Club with a Crazy Sock Day! We all had a great time dancing in our Crazy Socks and enjoyed a lovely breakfast together. Thank you Mrs Whittaker for your help

23.01.2022 The Dalveen State School Christmas Concert and Awards night will be held at The Dalveen Community Hall on Tuesday the 24th of November.
23.01.2022 Dalveen State School will be holding a Book Fair commencing Monday the 12th of October and finishing Friday the 16th of October. Books are available to preview and purchase before school from 8:30 to 9:00am and after school from 3:00 to 3:30pm. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our students who should be very proud of their efforts during our athletics carnival today. It was fantastic to see such great sportsmanship among the students, with special mention to our 2 awards winners Issac and Erica. Thank you to all of our parents and grandparents who not only cheered on the students and assisted staff, but joined in on the fun.

19.01.2022 On Monday 11 May 2020, Kindy, Prep, Year 1, Years 11 & 12 students will return to their state school or community kindergarten, joining childre...n of essential workers, vulnerable children, and children in designated Indigenous communities. All other students will continue to learn at home. If low transmission rates continue, students in Years 2 10 will return to school from Monday 25 May. In HASS (humanities & social sciences) we are learning about connection to country and the natural, constructed and managed features of our environment. To experience what this looks like in the real world we visited 2 places that are special to the Granite Belt... The Stanthorpe Art Gallery & Donnelly’s Castle.. students had to think about why these places are important to us and our community and consider... their natural, constructed and managed features. 13.01.2022 As part of our History unit this term, students have been learning about significant places in our local community and why they are important. This morning we had a very special teleconference with local Dalveen resident Mrs Grace Cameron. Mrs Cameron told us many interesting facts about Dalveen and the settlement in the early days and we asked lots of questions. Then we ventured out and about into Dalveen taking photos of important sites, learning new information and admirin...g the beautiful red Dalveen bricks in many of the original homes. We finished the excursion with a lovely picnic and games in Kurrajong park. We are very proud of our local history and our community and we couldn’t think of a better way to end the school term. 11.01.2022 Today students spent their hard earned Dalveen Dollars at the Dalveen SS Pop Up Shop. Students earn Dalveen $ by Being Safe, Responsible & Respectful. When their wallets are getting full and the bank is getting low we get to go shopping!

Today we enjoyed: A special talk about how the Christmas trees are grown & how Belgian hot chocolate is made on site... a tour of the Christmas Shop - we tried to count all the but we lost count! feeding the animals sampling the Belgian hot chocolate taking photographs for our information text Now that we are back at school we are busy compiling our information & notes to create an information text about the #granitebeltchristmasfarm Thank you to our amazing staff and parents for attending our excursion and for your help with transport & thank you to the Granite Belt Christmas Farm for hosting us!!
09.01.2022 We are a school that prides itself on our journey.. not the destination. So when ALL of our students in Year 3-6 achieve an ‘A’ for their geometry assessment in Math .. we acknowledge the hard work and the growth mindset of our learners.. did we mention how proud we are? .. Well done kids!

01.01.2022 Last week we visited the Crisps Art Show at the Southern Downs Art Gallery in Stanthorpe. We are very proud of our students who all featured in the installation - well done kids. Special congratulations to Darcy Skillington in Year 1 who was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ prize for his artwork titled The King Germ.... The photos below are of Darcy receiving his prize at the special presentation night held a few weeks ago. Congratulations and well done Darcy!!
