20.01.2022 Lexi and Jess.... this ones for you! Two young lovely’s came into the shop and we got talking about about Lemongrass and it’s botanical kissing cousin, Gingergrass. You should make a soap with Gingergrass in it... Hmm giving it some serious consideration. I could put some Ylang Ylang and Cedar and swirl it with red clays and top it with Pink Himalayan Salt.... Yes, do it! ...and I did ...and I sold it and the girls missed out. So I made it again and the same thing happened. 3rd times a charm and I’m determined that Jess and Lexi will get a bar, so I’m going to call them and splash it all over FB and Insta so that this time, they will get a bar of Ginger Lily, the soap they inspired. @ Damadi Skincare

15.01.2022 Internationally renowned light artist Bruce Munro will have a city wide exhibition from 1st November till the end of April 2020. Shop owners have been encouraged to participate so I’ve made a large sheer plate of lightly tinted clear soap in a classic DARWIN sunset. With a light behind it, it looks a little like a water colour or maybe a stained glass window. For a first attempt I’m pretty happy but it is only a beginning, I’m sure I can do better. 11.01.2022 Tropical Light is coming to Darwin so I decided to make an iconic Darwin sunset out of soap. Ok it’s a weird idea but soaps what I what I work with. It’s very lightly tinted clear melt and pour soap with a light shining behind it to make the colours pop. I was hoping that if the light was bright enough it would project the image onto a white wall but the tints are too light for that idea to work.... It’s 30cm by 40cm and and about 1cm thick and weighs about 2.5 kilos. It took about 30 + pours to make.
