25.01.2022 FULL UPDATE! For those of you that dont know at Round 2 of the IDM Championship at Zolder Circuit - Belguim, I came off the sidecar during Race 1. I was taken t...o medical at the track and with no pain I refused hospital as I felt fine just a little beat up. On Monday Morning I drove 7 hrs to East Germany where Frank Schauroth decided I must see a Doctor as my hand was not looking great. There I had X-Rays and was told I must go straight to hospital, I decided the best place for me was Austria to where the Treasure Family are based, I set off for a further 5hr drive and arrived Tuesday evening in Austria. Wednesday morning Dani took me straight to Kufstein Hospital where I was rushed straight through emergency and into surgery, a few hours later I was told what was going to happen now. Dispite the fracture of the wrist I had dislocated a number of Carpal Bones in my hand, the doctors told me that this was a serious injury and required surgery straight away. The way the bones were sitting had damaged my nerves along the carpal tunnel of the wrist and had stopped the blood flow to some bones. The bones were put back in place and wired, then some surgery on my nerves to correct them. Doctor Said Surgery Went Well! Unfortunately due to the injury I will not be able to race for the rest of this year as recovery is priority. Now I have regular check ups at the local doctor, my stitches are removed next week, and at the 8 week mark the wire is removed. Then I believe a further cast for several weeks and Rehab! I have made the decision that I will stay in Europe for full recovery and start rehab here. Scott will continue on this year and I will also attend the rest of the IDM Championship to help the team, I will also attend the World Championship for the remaining season. Although this year definitely hasnt turned out the way I had hoped for and looking at a long road ahead of me till I can maybe have full functio...n and feeling back with my hand, with 2 weeks till the wire comes out then a further 4 weeks before my Rehab can start, I have started training again just limiting what I can do with my Left Hand.
