24.01.2022 In the current situation I would like to advise that I am remaining open. If you have any concerns with your eyes, especially sudden new symptoms please come in to have your eyes checked. If you have a regular optometrist who is closed, please come in so you can be checked. If you are unsure if your symptoms need to be checked, call to discuss them. https://www.aao.org/eye-health/symptoms-list

18.01.2022 This is why Optometrists recommend regular eye examinations! https://www.aao.org//surprising-health-conditions-eye-exam

17.01.2022 Missed it by one day. Sunday 17th March was IDAHOBIT day. The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia. Be an ally, be inclusive. https://www.idahobit.org.au/

16.01.2022 If you have any concerns with your eyes please do not hesitate to call. Telehealth options are available, and face to face consults are there if needed. If you have any concerns at all full contact details are on this page, or my website https://www.damienlonerganoptometrist.com.au/

15.01.2022 Interesting read on some of the history of glasses: http://www.onyamagazine.com//surprising-facts-you-didnt-/

09.01.2022 Good luck to all the students going back to school.

05.01.2022 This International Women's day could be a good time to reflect on the roles of women in Optometry. Fantastic to see women making up better than 50% of younger Optometrist, even better to see a majority of Optometry schools in Australia with female heads of school! https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/cxo.13052

05.01.2022 There is some misinformation making the rounds regarding contact lens wear and COVID-19. At this time as long as you are healthy and practice proper contact lens hygiene your lenses are safe to wear. Below is the position statement from the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia. https://www.cclsa.org.au//CCLSA-Position-Statement-0104202

04.01.2022 Due to changes at the medical practice where I consult from I have moved physical locations. I am now consulting from YourGP@Denman. The address has been updated on this page to reflect that. I am still open and consulting, just at a different location. Please call for an appointment if you have any concerns with your eyes!

01.01.2022 I would add number 6: remember that regular eye checks are about the health of your eyes, not whether or not you need new glasses. https://www.jnj.com//how-to-take-care-of-your-eyes-with-5-
