14.01.2022 I have a good laugh at these off market properties for sale. Seriously, if something is off market it really shouldn’t be advertised on social channels should it? Off market means no advertising...anywhere! Otherwise it’s really just for sale and everyone should know about it right? So advertise the property! Further to this....Sellers wanting off market sales right now are ruling out a big portion of their buyer pool. If a buyer doesn’t know its for sale how can one agent know all the buyers in their local market. And even if they know many of them they may not know that passive buyer that just may pay a lot more. Soz...not possible. Auction everything...create a deadline date, create urgency, create a potentially competitive environment and create transparency in the sale for everyone.
13.01.2022 It’s times like these when you really appreciate being a member of the Real Estate Institute of NSW. Over the past few weeks I have been speaking regularly with the CEO, Tim McKibbin, about auctions and opens being reinstated and its just nice to know our industry body has been working incredibly hard to get us all back in business. I am personally very grateful for the boards hard work in guiding us through this challenging COVID-19 time. Thank you Tim, the board, and everyone involved at REINSW.

08.01.2022 I get a lot of questions about the state of the market and whats going to happen when job keeper runs out? The answer is this, market is great. Good quality property is flying. And i mean booming when I say flying. The crap is being discounted. The flight to quality is a very true statement. Owner occupier market is strong and the house market in general is better than the unit market. Rents will bounce back once borders open up and international flights start again. Oh....don’t forget 2% interest rates. So why buy now? Because many are questioning the market. What happens on the other side of the dip? A bloody big boom driven by cheap credit and strong demand. Strap in for the next cycle....whenever that may be. DC
