23.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that Josh Williams of our office has nominated for the position of committee member for the Queensland Law Society Future Leaders Committee. The Future Leaders Committee is a platform for next generation lawyers to launch their dreams, ideas and thinking for our profession. A democratically elected committee of members will represent and advocate on behalf of their peers for two years, beginning 1 January 2021 and concluding 31 December 2022. A...ccording to QLS, nearly 40% of Practising Certificate holders in Queensland are either 35 years old or under, or have less than 5 years post admission experience. It is important that this emerging demographic, with their unique needs and expectations, have their voices heard. Members eligible to vote (those under 35 years of age or in their first 5 years of practice) will receive an email invitation via Big Pulse, a voting platform with a unique link to access the online poll. 16.01.2022 Voting has now opened for the FLPA Board, and we are pleased to announce that Matt Doyle of our office has submitted his nomination for the position of Early Career Member. Matt comes with hands on experience as he has had the benefit of being the Early Career Member for the past 12 months, which has allowed him to build and foster relationships within the family law fraternity, both with other early career lawyers and experienced practitioners. Originally from Longreach Que...ensland, his interest in family law was piqued while undertaking work experience during his time attending boarding school in Rockhampton. Not long thereafter, he relocated to Brisbane to complete a Bachelor of Laws at QUT and was admitted to practice in June 2018. Both prior to and since his admission, he has worked exclusively in the area of family law.
