20.01.2022 WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY Did you know DFES has a group of firefighters who are also deployed as our Incident Photographers? Their unique perspective has given ...the public an insight into the hazards we face and our people who respond, both on the frontline and behind the scenes. Here are just a few of their striking shots from recent years - do you recognise any?

18.01.2022 Help is on its way, Queensland! 33 West Aussie firefighters jumped on Brisbane-bound planes this morning to lend a helping hand to our neighbours in Quee...nsland. Sadly many homes have been lost to the devastating fires that continue to rage across their State. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by the fires and we wish the best of luck to our crews and all other emergency services personnel responding to these intense blazes.

18.01.2022 Seems weve gained some attention!

06.01.2022 You most probably know each year our amazing dedicated volunteers at Dampier Fire & Rescue Service conduct a large number of community events to raise funds... But did we ever tell you what we do with those raised funds? Well we are proud to say we give them all away to local charities or clubs!... Thats right we give it all away each year, as we fund raise to simply help those that need it most in our local community. For example; we provided bubbles for the kids, cooked well over a thousand bugers and five hundred sauages on Friday for the Rio Tinto Family Xmas Party and all funds rasied we will be giving to Reach Us Pilbara Cancer Support Service... https://www.facebook.com/reachus.pilbara/ Check out the video of our awesome team cooking up a storm...

04.01.2022 If you can see or smell smoke in the next couple of months, its probably us! Prescribed burning reduces the amount of ground vegetation during cooler months to decrease risk of bushfires that could cause greater damage later in the season. Prescribed burning also helps to maintain biodiversity and assists with vegetation management.... Dampier VFRS also uses prescribed burning as a means of training for the brigade, introducing its probationary members to both fire behaviour and control methods. If you have any queries, or want the gully behind your house burnt, please message us! All prescribed burns will be subject to weather conditions and necessary approvals. Thanks, Cameron Turner Lieutenant Dampier VFRS

04.01.2022 KARRATHA BUSHFIRE CONCERT We would like to share this excellent event we are supporting... This event will raise much needed funds for the countrys dedicated Fire Fighters... ... Please get your tickets from: https://karrathabushfireconcert.eventbrite.com.au

03.01.2022 CATASTROPHIC FIRE DANGER FOR TUESDAY Due to extreme weather conditions tomorrow theres a catastrophic fire danger forecast for the coastal Pilbara including Dampier. Please no hot works or open fires until the threat has passed. We have already seen the affects of someone grinding metal in long grass within the Dampier townsite in the past few weeks, we are very lucky the fire did not spread through the gully to other properties.

02.01.2022 Goodluck today to one of our firefighters and secretary Scott Bourne, whos running for the seat of Durack in the Election. No matter the outcome today mate we are all proud of you, Im sure you will be celebrating with a couple of Rogers tonight after being elected. #Scotty4Durack
