12.01.2022 On Tuesday the 22nd of September shortly after the nominations period for local government candidates had closed, I received a phone call from our VEC office in Serpentine informing me, that the Terrick Ward of the Loddon Shire council was uncontested. This means, unofficially I have been successful in obtaining a seat on council to represent the good people of the Terrick Ward. As we speak the 4 remaining Loddon Wards are strongly being contested by all nominated candidates,... and their election campaigns are in full swing. We should have all results after the 24th of October. In the coming weeks I plan to host two listening post ( abiding by COVID-19 restrictions ) and conducted a letter box drop, in the aim of continuing community engagement over the campaign period, to help residents get to know me better and ask any questions they may have, before I officially take my position as councillor of the Terrick Ward. I will continue a social media presence through posts and messages, and can be contacted via phone on 0407 093 194 and email [email protected] I would like to thank everyone for your help and support in the lead up to this local government election, your help has been very much appreciated and will not be forgotten. Than you and kind regards, Dan Straub. Written & authorised by Dan Straub 153 Nickols Road Dingee 3571

01.01.2022 As a local, choosing Tandarra as the place to start my family and buy a property was an obvious choice. The rural lifestyle and farming culture of our area is one of the great strengths of Loddon Shire and something that I am passionate about. Work within the agricultural and construction industries I know what hard work is. As a husband and father of two young girls, I understand the pressures on young families and the importance of local services. I am invested in our local... community for the long term and I want to see it prosper. This year has been one of the most challenging for our community, and more challenges will follow. However, I have great optimism of a better future ahead. There are so many opportunities to promote growth and generate wealth to ensure that for our children Loddon Shire is the place to stay, not the place to leave. My passions include working and advocating with rural communities on future farming practises, land access issues, recreational use of public land, water and environmental issues and the traditional Australian way of life. Growing up in country Victoria I understand life in a small community. Resilience and self-reliance are so important, as is a practical outlook and a desire to get on with the job. These are all attributes I offer for the role of Terrick Ward councillor. Being self-employed I appreciate the value of a dollar and the need to make it stretch. Loddon Shire is a small council with large responsibilities and a priority for me will be ensuring that our community gets the best return on its ratepayer dollars. I am seeking election because I am passionate about building a strong future for local families. If you share this goal, I ask for your support.
