25.01.2022 First day with a flymask...this little man is a hoot

25.01.2022 Just 9 days difference between these two! Tiny Tinkerbell has more than tripled her weight and is 300gr heavier now at 3 weeks old than Orchid was the day she was born

25.01.2022 This tummy Now that all her mom's milk is Tinkerbells, she walks with a bit of a waddle due to her enormously full belly & that's when she can even be bothered to get up at all

24.01.2022 Esmé is loving the new paddock and those dapples are just At 2, she's growing into a stunning horse already!

24.01.2022 Here's Barockpinto showing some love to little Ubuntu Well bred dogs and well bred lambs!

22.01.2022 So this is a bit of a story! We've had a few ewe lambs giving birth a bit young this year due to naughty horses opening gates & rams pushing past my hubby while he's feeding, but they've only been a month or two younger than I would have usually bred them, so no great harm done for the most part. However, Danatova Lorelei is a bit of a rebel!! She's always been that way and has a reputation here as an escape artist. She then screams herself blue because she's not where she ...wanted to be! We still love her! She's a very well grown ewe lamb & when she started bagging up recently, I brought her in to the lambing pens, because we have had these early lambing ewe lambs. I still didn't expect her to lamb twins at 10 months old The little ram lamb is a normal size for a twin from a first time lamber...but the little ewe lamb completely blew my mind!! Never have we had a lamb this small before!! Her brother must have taken all the nutrients, though goodness knows, Lorelei is carrying enough condition to have carried three!! There's also a chance that with Lorelei's escapades, she might have been served twice and the ewe lamb is actually gestationally younger. I have heard of that happening. Anywhoo, they are both stronger and healthier than they have any right to be and Lorelei seems to have a good milk supply, though if her daughter, Danatova Tinkerbell lives through the week (which we have every hope she will), we will sell her brother so she has the best chance to grow up just as big and strong as her mother! 22.01.2022 Here's a video showing just how tiny Tinkerbell is next to Orchid

21.01.2022 The twins are doing great and had a game of King of the Castle!

20.01.2022 This is Woofie! Woofie and his partner India are the reason that we can have chickens and lambs in this fox invested part of Australia! Woofie does such an amazing job guarding everyone and he's so gentle with the cheeky lambs and the stupid chooks This hen is blind and he seems to look after her a bit more than everyone else. Three cheers for Woofie!!!

16.01.2022 Surprise surprise! After some bad luck earlier this week, we have these lovely twin girls from Danatova Marmelat! It was a bit touch and go with the smaller lamb, but after some tlc, she's not even interested in the bottle anymore and drinking well from her mom

16.01.2022 Never a dull moment here! Disclaimer: no lambs were injured in the making of this clip

14.01.2022 Our animals live the Good Life! Ruby cut her foot quite deeply and gets warm iodine foot soaks and deep straw to help her heal. She appears to be sterile too, so it's not like she's a great producer either

12.01.2022 Isn't this little man precious!! He was born the other day as the surviving twin and will make a lucky person either a great ram or a handsome & friendly desexed pet/grasseater. He's nicely bred, reg and quite the stand out! EOI welcome on him

08.01.2022 A bucket of kids

08.01.2022 And again we have new life! Our usual boy girl twins and the boy (left) will be available for bottle-feeding in a week or so

07.01.2022 This little man is so sweet & quite the looker!! He's ridiculously friendly and outgoing, yet has great manners and respects personal space. I wish he was a different colour-I'd love to keep him

06.01.2022 So now that I've had a minute to lick my wounds from my 6.25% chance plain chestnut (3.125% for chestnut colt ), I'd like to announce how happy I am anyway that my mare is safe and happy with a strong colt (anyone want him?) Last April she spent a month in ICU with colic, had procedures, didn't work, had surgery, didn't work, pretty much just died slowly for 3 of those weeks with me there for hours every single day until they'd kick me out because they were going to bed. She... lost 75kg in that month. Somehow the amazing people at SEEH and I pulled her through it and I decided to give her an extra year off to heal by putting her in foal. Not sure I realised quite how stressful that would be, seeing as I've foaled plenty before. After almost a month of waxing and a fortnight with a pH everyone else's mares are foaling on, she finally foaled at 10am in the rain just as I was getting ready to nap after spending the past 3 days staring at her every night trying not to blink while doing some light reading on things that can go wrong while foaling. My hubby was feeding our other mare and foal combo and called me down & I came with a full foaling kit I've never used before, didn't need most of and still had to go get other things for in the end anyway A lovely classical presentation that is the quickest birth I've ever attended. From first hoof to back legs out was under 4 minutes Got it all on video! Somehow the cord broke right against his belly almost right after he came out. I think he might have got a leg over it and kicked away. It took a bunch of attempts and eventually my sewing kit to fix, as the cord just wasn't holding tied with so little there. He did poop in his sac a little, so I was mostly concerned about clearing his airways rather than helping Candy, but she just spat him out & he's done everything he should in record time and the placenta 10min later! She's hasn't quite taken to motherhood like a duck to water. More like a hen wondering why the ducklings she's hatched are swimming, but she hasn't been properly nasty to him, stands for him to drink mostly and only forgets him completely when food is being offered. The rest of the time, she remembers him once she's 20 or 30 metres away He's such a friendly little fella-just laid in my friends lap like he knew it was the safest place in the world Vets coming out for an IGG tomorrow so I'll be testing him for cream and frame overo, but I think it's a bit of straw clutching at this point I'll put her back under saddle again now, because she's my main riding horse and I'm not sure I can survive another foaling of hers!! See more

05.01.2022 Land Whale Alert!!! So close, but when will she finally pop?! This has got to be my most anticipated foal ever & the wait is killing me!! She's been waxing for almost a fortnight now. Come on Candy...give it up already!!!

05.01.2022 So this happened!!! With a goodly amount of effort and trouble, we brought these two beautiful girls into the world. Their brother died before their due date, causing their mom to go into labour early and they weren't in position. Luckily we were able to save them & although we have some hiccups and are having to bottle feed for now and fighting retained placenta with mom, everyone looks like they're going to be ok!! Introducing Cameo (first pic) and Carmella

03.01.2022 What a handsome little man Jon is growing up to be!! Meeting one of my friends today. Almost a month old-where does time go?! He's still looking for his perfect home!

01.01.2022 I've been sitting on a little secret for a few weeks now that I'm finally ready to share! Stage 2 of my Barockpinto Project is a go with the addition of the gorgeous 4 year old Djosefa TK to our stud. She is by the Grand Prix dressage stallion Django of Cacharel (last pic) out of a WB mare by What's Colour (imp) by Samber. She will arrive here next June, after weaning her soon to be delivered foal. Thank you so much Lynn for the opportunity to have such a perfect mare for my program!
