23.01.2022 Handstands have been one of my key movement goals to unlock this year. I may of unlocked this skill and even almost hit my personal best I set for the year. But due to weaknesses and years of closed of shoulders plus a two year stint of that same shoulder being put in all sorts of uncomfortable positions by another human in several occasions in the art of BJJ.... With that being said it’s a taking long time to be able find that nice line - after two days of being shown different progressions, variations to help with finding that line. I made some small progress & things to be mindful of next I’m upside down - can say I’m excited to see where my movement practice will take me in the next 12 months. @ Ashtanga YogaMoves

19.01.2022 You’re the product of your own environment The energy & emotions you bring to the environment will show in front of others. This is something I’be been mindful of the last couple of years and I’ll be first to say I’m definitely not perfect or always on top of this.... But I’ve been working on my personal growth by not only just challenging myself through movement but also through a daily gratitude practice and reflecting back on each day. So if you want level up - wether it’s your health, mindset or in business and all of the above then it’s important to surround yourself with others that bring the energy that you’re after everyday. Even if it’s someone you’ve know for 1 hour or know 3 years - it doesn’t matter you’re the product of the your own environment.
15.01.2022 After over 10 months of consistency with the handstand practice. Kick-ups were feeling good & next thing you know I hit PB, reviewed the footage & was out of line with the camera shot So I decided to recapture the moment & ended up scoring another PB of 7-8s... You can be the judge to see how long it was.
12.01.2022 . I’ll admit, breaking outside of the normal routine is something I don’t do very often. But when I do , there isn’t a better feeling then a good climb.... As it has its own mental challenge, while trying to solve the puzzle in front of you. Every session I’ll have one or two climbs I can’t quite get - where I’ll try over & over again plus receive feedback on different ways to try and solve it. There is plenty of things make me humble & climbing is definitely one of them plus I love it cause it’s helps me with a fear of mine.
12.01.2022 Benefits of Training for Middle Splits 1. Why not It looks cool , just look at @jcvd 2. It helps with supporting you to move more freely in various sports - dancing, climbing , martial arts & running.... 3. If you’re a martial artist cupped with technique, you’ll improve your ability to kick higher & move around more freely when doing so. 4. Your improving you’re flexibility 5. You’re making your muscle ligaments stronger. 6. Not only it will benefit your adductor but your glutes & hip flexors will thank you too. 7. It’s a extremely humbling journey as it takes time to do this - so play the long game.
07.01.2022 Resistance with trying something when it comes to training or stepping outside of the norm is very common these days. I’ve had plenty conversations around people like myself that have been in & out of certain gyms because they either didn’t want to stick out , didn’t have the drive or passion for what they were doing. Or They were just over the same same and needed a complete different space & vibe while trying something new in a judgment free zone.... Everyone has different story or different narrative on this so it’s important to hear both sides when possible. I’ve been on both sides of this story so I can relate & I’ve learnt plus continue to learn what works, as well as what doesn’t work when comes to training. Hope this helps to guide you through your week or if there some who needs hear this, feel free to share it :)
