14.01.2022 So this is the latest dance video circulating today, and I have been tagged in it a gazillion times, so here are my thoughts.......... I don't believe this video challenges the ballet stereotype at all. Ballet, like all dance is constantly evolving. My senior ballet students dance to pop songs as well as classical music every week - last term it was Timmy Trumpet, lol!) This is nothing new. All I see in this video are students having fun at the end of the lesson with some strutting en-pointe. Certainly no special skill demonstrated (in fact most of the girls are not fully en-pointe, they are obviously students) I think it's great that they can let loose and have some fun, but don't get carried away BuzzFeed, it's an exaggeration to call it anything but what it is - strutting with pointe shoes!
