25.01.2022 2020 'Cinema' Experience Have you read our email all about the DANCE1 2020 'Cinema' Experience?! Don't forget to check your Inboxes and get excited for the first ever Party Day at the movies! SAVE THE DATE... SUNDAY 29TH NOVEMBER, 2020 (We got a little excited in our email and were WISHING that it was one day sooner!) While we are unable to have a live audience in the theatre this year, Cinemedia will capture our 2020 production of 'The Dance Games' and you won't miss a thing! How special that our dancers will get to walk the red carpet and then watch their performance in the audience WITH their families for the first time?! That's a pretty special way to finish up an incredible year!

24.01.2022 LAST WEEK OF TERM 4 What?! How ist it already the last week of Term 4? I feel like we just started... Enjoy those final fouettés & last leaps for 2020! I know that the DANCE1 Team has some AWESOME & FUN last lessons planned. ... On your marks, get set... DANCE!

24.01.2022 Opening Number (or should we say Opening Ceremony?! ) Rehearsals start THIS Saturday 5th September! Rehearsals will take place in the SD Hall @ Lindfield Uniting Church. ... To assist with drop-off & pick-up of dancers, DANCE1 will offer a walk-between service each week from HF Hall to SD Hall (led by DANCE1 Staff). Dancers will meet DANCE1 Staff outside the HF Hall at 1.45pm to walk up to the SD Hall. Dancers will then be escorted down to the HF Hall by 4.45pm for collection. I wonder which 'events' our dancers will be learning this week

24.01.2022 Another successful afternoon of learning, sharing & working together at our DanceStep Meeting Our Level 2 & Level 3 DanceSteppers came together to continue their training - discussing nutrition, safe dance, warming up AND aced their anatomy naming all muscles & bones correctly We love having our DanceStep teachers on board as a part of our DANCE1 Staff and we see our younger dancers look up to these gorgeous girls and role models, waiting until they are old enough to join the crew

19.01.2022 #TechniqueTuesday Our Technique classes have hit the ground running in Term 3, continuing to work on strength, flexibility and conditioning This has been incredibly important for our dancers so there are no injuries after all the dancing at home! Our Technique students are also getting ready to run the biggest race of the year - preparing for the 'Opening Ceremony' ... With Opening Number rehearsals starting very soon, we are SO excited to 'train' with these fabulous, hard-working dancers and see the Opening Number come to life

17.01.2022 #ComingSoon! We didn't have as many performance opportunities as we would have liked in 2020, so we're looking ahead to 2021 and alllll the possibilities! The concert dates are booked and we're already counting down days until we get to perform onstage in front of an audience! ... Not to mention... the comeback of eisteddfods, exams, Parent Viewing Days, flash mobs - anything is possible! Really... any excuse to put on a costume! Here's to more performances in 2021!

Whether considering enrolling OR excited to see what is in store, keep an eye out for our Spotlight Saturdays over the holidays! Now time for a FAVOURITE of ours... TAP ... Whether it's a traditional Broadway style like Fred Astaire OR a more current style like Chloe Arnold's, Tap certainly keeps us on our toes The opportunity to create new steps & rhythm patterns every time you put your Tap shoes on... every lesson takes you somewhere new! Hair Kits are presented in a clear box and filled with bobby pins, hair spray, a fine tooth comb and bun nets - all the hair essentials needed for the 2020 Stage Experience! Those who have previously purchased a Hair Kit can also purchase a Hair Kit refill by sending their clear plastic box to class in Week 1 of Term 4. We'll fill it again with brand new items and send it back looking good as new Finally DANCE1 will be selling body stockings to take the stress out of locating one for your dancer. Body stockings are a skin coloured leotard that can be worn underneath all costumes AND will be COMPULSORY in 2020 as part of our COVID Safe Plan, so don't forget to place your order. Stage Experience accessory orders are due to the DANCE1 Office before Friday 9th October so they can be packed & sent home in time for Stage Experience

03.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday One last #ThrowbackThursday for the year & we thought we would do a first photo vs. last photo of 2020 The year of surprises, Movitae & 'pivoting' * You would never know that for 14 weeks of this year, we were dancing & stretching in our living rooms. ... * You would never know the #behindthescenes COVID cleaning - we're still smelling the Glen 20! * You would never know the Movitae meltdowns, the Zoom glitches & the bloopers behind the cameras Instead it's the smiles & the sparkle, the dedication & determination of our D1 dancers that got us through 2020 and while it may not be the year that we were planning at the start, it sure is the ending that we all hoped for Here's to the memories of 2020 & the ones to come, in 2021!
