18.01.2022 Hi Boulevarders The Good news is Australia seems to be keeping a lid on Covid-19. The bad news is the government doesn’t believe its time to start back at dancing yet. We maybe allowed to do a few more things very soon once Gladys says so and starts Stage 1 but not until Stage 2 are we allowed to return to our dance floor. ... I’m not sure how you personally feel about this, but I’m terribly sad, I miss you all more than I can say. I feel as this is the end of the 7th week of iso, that families maybe feeling some tension of not socialising and doing the things we were used to and were taking for granted. So not to place any extra things on your plates we will stay on dancing holidays until Stage 2 gets underway. At that point in time I hope to see you all rush through our doors and be ready to kick it like never before. Do some practice when you can of your dances, but do know that all the teachers will get you all up to speed when we get back to classes. Stay well, be happy and know everything happens for a reason, so be positive that this is what is meant to be happening right now and it’s saving us or someone we love from something far worse. 08.01.2022 Hi Boulevarders, Here we are on the 5th Wednesday of iso with no definite end in sight so... With everyone struggling with isolation, motivation and adaptation to the way life has to be at the moment, I don’t want dancing to add any extra pressure on you and your family. With home school starting back up next week tension will start filling our homes again with parents still needing to do what they need to do plus teach and motivate their children with school work. Not to fo...rget those dancers doing year 12 in an unknown way, the uni students learning their content online with noisey families in the background, dancers with full time jobs barely gripping onto their position and having to perform at the level their employer requires and also those dancers laid off from their jobs because their industry has either been forced to close or their need at work is not necessary due to diminished demand. All this forced on us when most of us felt like life was going great. Hold your head up, you got this, life will be great once more but we just have to fight through this tough stuff. So for the next two weeks dancing will remain on holidays. Feel free to let off some steam by practicing your dances, it’s good for the soul. We still will be performing these routines, obviously not on our intended concert date but hopefully not much later into term 3. Please don’t forget what we’ve learnt, nearly all dances are down to the last 30-45 seconds. After the two weeks hopefully indoor sports will be allowed again and we’ll be off swinging, if not I’ll come up with I think it will then be Plan D! Stay Safe, Stay Well and above all Stay Sane!
