19.01.2022 Hailing from Adelaide and founded in 2018, 'The Very Modern Jazz Quartet' prides itself on a holistic approach to performance that suits any venue and all audiences. Led by Ben Lainio on trumpet, the ensemble of third year students from the Elder Conservatorium of Music boasts one of the hippest rhythm sections in the country. With Thomas Byrne on double Bass, Simon Possingham on drums and Matthew Ahrens on the piano, 'The Very Modern Jazz Quartet' will take its audience on a journey from sombre ballads through to the raucousness of New Orleans Swing to help make Swinging In The Rain's evening event one to remember!
