24.01.2022 This Sunday the Dance HQ Fundraising Team will be at Bunnings Cockburn selling the most amazing snags in a blanket again! Our fundraising team raises funds to give back and support our students with many things. In the past they have raised funds for specialist acrobatic equipment and technical training aids, fitness equipment, whitegoods for student use, they have even contributed to reducing individual costs for all families at concert time and helped dance students attend inter-state dance competitions. We would love everyone to come along and support our dancers in this time. X

20.01.2022 Great morning at Express Dance Challenge! Niamh did her new classical for the first time with the "butterflies in her belly" she said lol but she got through it and was super excited with her 3rd place trophy. Akira bounded onto stage in her hip hop solo and channelled her inner Missy Elliot to give a very entertaining performance for 2nd place!... Chloe had a go of jazz improv with the big kids in 6u. She remembered to show off her kicks, skips and floor work and received a medal for HM. Akira had a super quick change into her devilish tap costume. The music sounded a little different than normal missing the backing vocals, but it didn't deter her from keeping on beat and tapping her way to 1st place! Sisters Chloe and Niamh donned their favourite outfits for the 6u lyrical improv section. You could see Niamhs excitement as she realised she knew the song and began singing along lol both girls received HM. Isabella gave us a very professional and technical performance in her neo classical solo. Was so beautiful to watch and I'm super proud of her achievement, 1st place. Well done girls! We will be back for the Junior championships tonight with Tahlia and Isabella!

19.01.2022 What a day! Well done to our girls today at Express Dance Challenge. Stella did ahhh-mazing in her novice acro solo today! She hasn't competed on stage since last year and her solo was full of brand new stunts she learnt this year. In an unclassified section she flipped and tumbled about for an outstanding 1st place! Tahlia performed a brand new speed tap solo. Literally just finished learning it a week ago! Very difficult chorey to work on, but she gave it a red hot crack ...and we can't wait to see her grow with it! 3rd place! Isla showed us some nice clean tapping technique in her tap solo. Music was a little low to hear under the sound of her own feet but still stoked with a tie for 3rd place with her tapping pal Tahlia. Niamh... our poor little darling was very sick before her lyrical solo. For a 6u though to still go on and dance... She didn't look sidestage once, pointed her toes and remembered all her moves. I couldn't be more proud. She was stoked with receiving a medal for SM. Isabella wowed me today with her strength and leg lines! A strong novice contemporary section she showed us just how much she's improved this year and came away with 3rd place! Tahlia and Isla danced up an age level in their song and dance duet and its only been run 3 times since January lol. A last minute pull together but none the less, some great singing in this section! 3rd place. Well done to everyone today! Xo

If you want to achieve something it will come with time, but how long depends on what you're prepared to put into it mentally and physically. 08.01.2022 COSTUMES WANTED In line with Covid times, Dance HQ are looking to help out families at concert time and reduce costume costs. I have gone through my current costume cupboard of new and second hand costumes and found some items that could be the start of troupe routines. If you have any of the costumes pictured and are willing to part with them, please comment the size below the picture. If I can get enough I will contact you for a price. ... From last years concert, I did not order any spares but I'm especially interested in acro, jazz, mini ballet, tinies and contemporary/lyrical items. If you have any costumes from last year that you're happy to onsell/reuse, then please send a photo in the general comments below. Feel free to tag past and present students or people you think that have these costumes. Alternatively, if you have a number of troupe items to sell or hire please let me know in comments or pm. X

06.01.2022 Fantastic efforts from all our dancers today at Express Dance Challenge. Emily showed some strong improvements in her new Neo-Classical Solo - SM Isla and Tahlia sung their hearts out with a great display of character and tap dancing in their open song and tap solos - Isla 1st and Tahlia 3rd... Isabella went on to perform her first ever hip hop solo and did a fantastic job, full of energy - SM Tahlia wowed the audience with her fugitive hip hop routine, smashed it again! - 1st place Congrats to all performers today! 05.01.2022 How clever and focused our little Tiny Combo kids are! They were all trying super hard to bend back and touch their toes to their head today. We work on a number of strength, flexibility and coordination exercises in this class from acrobatics as you see here to jazz and ballet. Our Tuesday class has 1 more space left but we still have more vacancies in our Thursday afternoon program. We will be looking to put on another class during the week very soon!
