These superstar young dancers have not only adapted to learning dance remotely, they have embraced it. They have focused on the opportunities that are always present in challenging times and continued to grow - developing new skills, learning choreography, creating their own movement....and putting on a show....! So excited for our live screening Friday night!

23.01.2022 Yesterday would have been our 2020 concert day. Although we weren’t able to do that this time, we were able to be together and to share dance. And to celebrate the incredible work of our Evolution students and teachers. Together with our Purple Family and community, we gathered on Zoom to share Compartments, our second Zoom presentation. To achieve one Zoom show was impressive, to make two was nothing short of amazing! We feel the second show reflected these young performer...s’ willingness to stretch themselves and strive even during an incredibly trying time. To have grown and improved so much whilst learning through a very challenging medium and in limited physical spaces - it’s remarkable. It speaks to their commitment, talent, versatility and tenacity. Yeah - we’re just a little proud!! Congratulations you superstar students and beautiful teachers, and thank you for all of your hard work, dedication and joy. Janelle, thank you so much for all of your time and help with rehearsals and recordings, your positivity and support.and for your cheerleading during the epic editing saga!! Thank you so much to our Evolution parents and families for all of your support and encouragement. 17.01.2022 What better way to end a term all about building creative confidence, willingness to step out of your comfort zone and take risks, and appreciating the importance of ‘play’ as an artist.than to present a style of work we’ve never attempted before, featuring beautifully trained dancers who hardly danced, in an immersive set installation designed so we could include the audience as part of the show Guardians has been an experience we will never forget and the personal growt...h in each of these young people throughout the term (and even over the four shows actually!) is the reason we do what we do. Congratulations to our talented performers and thank you so much to everyone who came along to watch the show and support us! Thank you to Janelle for all of your wonderful support, to Jo for your work with the singers and to all of our helpers and parents, especially Rita, Kerry and Nicole. Chris - we just cannot thank you enough - this show would not have been possible without your tenacity, positivity and just hours and hours of hard work! When I pitched the idea to Chris of an inflatable ice castle installed in the studio, complete with lights, audio, video projection and entrance tunnel, he said wow that sounds amazing and immediately began exploring the ‘how’.We are so lucky! What many in the audience wouldn’t have realised is that they were witnessing much more than the performance - they were seeing resilience, teamwork, bravery and professionalism. Our beautiful Mia, who was to be playing the lead part of Jack Frost had to go to hospital for emergency surgery and so was unable to be in the shows. Mia had worked so hard, had shaped the role of Jack over the term and was performing incredibly - it was so difficult for her and she was so strong. Mia's cousin, Chanel, who was cast as the Tooth Fairy moved into the role of Jack, and Mikayla moved from being an Elf into the Tooth Fairy role. Unlike previous experiences with dance routines where you need to alter 4 minutes, these amazing kids had to learn and perform a 60 minute show in character with lines, stage directions, character dancing and solo songs.and they did it one day before the shows. Chanel and Mikayla gave brilliant performances and no-one knew that they had just taken on the role - how incredible! From the the way they discussed everything, to the way they had tears watching each other, from the way they stepped up to the way they were there for each other, Mia, Chanel, Mikayla, Angel, Carla, Ruby, Alannah, Sienna and the senior students who supported them demonstrated why this is more than dance class and more than a dance school. I could not be more proud Purple Family Thank you for a term of laughter and tears, growth and love, and for an experience we will always remember! If you missed the show..rumour is there may be another season later in the year Congratulations everyone!

11.01.2022 Here is a little something to celebrate the incredible support, kindness, resilience and ability to adapt shown by our beautiful Purple Family. More than ever it we felt it was so important for our students to have some sense of normalcy and routine. Dance is such an important part of our lives - the physicality, the ability to focus mentally and release emotionally, the freedom of self expression and the connection with one another. Thanks to technology we have had the oppor...tunity to open our digital doors, keeping everyone moving, learning, interacting and having fun! We have honestly been blown away and so moved by everyone’s strength and positivity. We want to say a heartfelt thank you for your support during these unprecedented and challenging times. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of everyone involved. Thank you so much!

04.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone!!! There are some years you want to usher out as quickly as possible...and then there are some that have been filled with moments you'd love to have again, memories you'll treasure, experiences you already miss...and it's hard to say goodbye. We cannot thank enough, everyone who has made 2018 the latter at Dancescape. We were very nervous to be implenting such big changes in 2018, but also completely energised to be following our hearts. We have bee...n humbled by the support and belief from our families and overwhelmed by the results. In one year, not only have skills and performance improved so much, but we've seen personal confidence flourish, relationships thrive, understanding broaden and even improvements in academic performance! All of this has filled the studio with energy and warmth and joy, and none of it would have been possible without you. 02.01.2022 Congratulations everyone! What an amazing experience! We cannot give enough thanks to our incredible backstage crew, technicians, dressmakers, helpers, parents, teachers, choreographers and our amazingly talented performers. To our beautiful students - wow! You are so strong and versatile and engaging. You absolutely blew us away with your performances this year. ... "meraki" means to do something with soul, creativity or love; to put something of yourself in your work....watching these young people give it everything out there I don't think we could have had a better name for this show. It was an emotional one! From laugh out loud moments to tears and everything in between, there were so many goosebump moments for us. Those last moments when all of the kids came on stage during You Will Be Found and sat watching the slideshow together were just precious - memories we will treasure forever. 01.01.2022 I love this quote by Amy Poehler Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life. Sometimes a dance school is just a dance school.and sometimes it’s a second home, a safe haven for you to express yourself and to know love, acceptance and belonging outside your own family.... This video features two of our beautiful dancers - Ruby and Izzy. We’ve had the incredible privilege of being part of their lives for 10 years, and seeing two sweet little kids grow into the confident, strong, kind and creative people they are now. We were filming with our gorgeous Senior Evolution class this night and something about being back in the studio, being back together, after so long apart, their improvised movement, their connection, being able to move with that energy in the room again - it was so special. We just had to share.
