15.01.2022 What an incredible term! Term 2 of 2020 is one I don’t think we will ever forget. Going into lockdown was something we had never prepared for, and we scrambled to find our way into the world of online/remote teaching and learning. As we all threw ourselves into this new adventure we have just been so overwhelmed and impressed by the resilience shown by these beautiful little people we are lucky enough to teach. Making the decision to take all of our classes live and online (r...ather than pre recorded) proved to be the best one ever. Every day we were able to connect, see and chat to our dancers. It was their smiling faces that kept us motivated during this uncertain time. We cannot thank our incredible DSD community for their support and kindness through these changes. We are thrilled to be back in the studio for term 3. Stay safe, rest up and most importantly stay socially distanced xx! See more

14.01.2022 Whilst lockdown isn’t the ideal situation, we got to do this yesterday which was pretty amazing. Thank you to our wonderful Dad’s and families. Happy Father’s Day.

13.01.2022 Staying home and staying safe #alwaysdancing #dancingfromhome

11.01.2022 We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming @brett.chynoweth from the @ausballet to take class for our very lucky students. Thank you Brett! What an incredible mentor and inspiration you are for all young dancers.

10.01.2022 I wasn’t going to say anything because I understand we all need to do our part in lockdown to get this under control. I also think Dan Andrews has done a bloody... good job. However I’ve recently felt a bit disheartened, because as usual I feel like dance schools are being forgotten. Again. We’re not gyms. We are a creative and active studio with young disciplined dancers who move around a space in a socially distanced manner, long before social distancing was even a thing. In the dance world it’s called ‘spacing’ and no one is better at it than dancers. Why I want to speak out now is because I don’t think it’s fair that 18+ year olds in regional Vic can go out to a pub, get drunk, hang off each other etc while these young people can’t even get back to their hobby that keeps them mentally, physically and emotionally healthy. I think that sucks. It’s so easy to be covid safe in a dance studio, and I hope we can get the word around so some people in the community, gov, media can spare a thought for us regional dance schools who are doing it pretty tough. I would be grateful if you could continue to share and spread the word. Thanks to those who have taken the time to read. X This image is of students from Dance School of Distinction, Ballarat.

10.01.2022 Something to make us smile in 2020 Thank you so much to everyone who sent their favourite photos in. So special.

10.01.2022 PLEASE SEND US YOUR PHOTOS Ararat Eisteddfod supports dance schools in their endeavour to get back to classes in regional areas. Their class training allows the...m to perform and compete at Eisteddfods like ours. We can’t run if we don’t have dancers, and they can’t learn without all the wonderful dance schools around the state. Parents would not send their kids to dance classes if they didn’t believe it was safe. When school returns in regional Victoria for term 4 (next week) we’d love to see dance return too. Send us your photo. Please send in private message to this page or to Karly Harris. Your photo can be - a plea to the premier - Why I love dance - What I miss about dance class and Eisteddfod’s Please make sure the text is readable. Can be handwritten or holding an ipad. See the gorgeous Leni (Kerry Moore SOB) for an example photo. We will compile into a video to share. We have missed you all so terribly. See more
