Dance the Blues will be running classes and socials as usual until further notice; Queensland has currently avoided in-community transmission of the Coronavirus Covid-19. Make no mistake, we are monitoring the situation surrounding the virus via QLD Health (link 1), Aus Health (link 2) and the WHO (link 3), and if the situation changes we will re-evaluate our activities. We will continue to supply hand sanitizer at all our events, but remember th...at nothing beats regularly washing your hands thoroughly with soap. 16.01.2022 Two days until Ma Rainey's Black Bottom movie comes out. We are super excited to watch it. Ma Rainey, the "Mother of Blues", was one of the first recorded blues musicians. She was the mentor of Bessie Smith and worked with many influential artists of the time including Louis Armstrong and Thomas Dorsey. Recording over 100 records she was a big influence on many artists who succeeded her.

13.01.2022 Hi! A lot has changed in the last two weeks, and we are sure it will continue to change for some time. So, we will not be resuming our events until we get the all clear from QLD Health and WHO. Some people have asked for online classes, however at this stage we will not be running them. The team at Dance the Blues are fortunate that we do not rely on our teaching income. If you are interested in taking online classes we recommend hitting up international teachers.
