23.01.2022 Dancing With Geoff Louise & Barry is not on this Saturday night 14th December due to Star Ballroom holding their Christmas Ball. We resume next Saturday the 21st December at 8pm with our usual Saturday Night Social. We still have a few tickets left for our New Years Eve Dance.

20.01.2022 Hello Dancers, At this time, we dont know when we will be re-opening but hope that it may be mid July as the Government has indicated that the number of people allowed for indoor gatherings will be increased to 100. 19.01.2022 We are open tonight for our normal Saturday night dance. We are however putting in place Social distancing measures for our seating by reducing the number of tables & spreading the individual seating. We ask that anyone who has returned from overseas in the past 14 days or who has any contact with someone who has recently returned from overseas to please not come to the dance.... 19.01.2022 Please find information on our Saturday Night Dance over November, December and January. We are open this Saturday the 16th November and every Saturday Night for the next 3 months except for Star Ball. We DO NOT close over the Christmas/New Year period. Star Ballroom are holding their Ball on Saturday the 14th December so we will not be running on the 14th December.... If you wish to go to Star Ball, please contact Richard on 0418 373 203. We are running our New Years Eve Dance on Tuesday 31st December. We still have some tickets available but they are selling fast. 18.01.2022 Our Saturday dance will remain open until further notice. However we have considered further measures to ensure the safety of you, our patrons. It has been decided to stop the provision of Supper until the Coronavirus has been contained & everything returns to normal.... You are welcome to continue to bring nibbles and drinks for your own consumption. Tea, Coffee & filtered cold water will continue to be available throughout the evening. 17.01.2022 Dancing With Geoff Louise & Barry is not running this Saturday 13 July 2019 due to Star Ballroom running their Monsters & Mermaids Ball. We resume our normal Saturday Night Dance next Saturday 20 July 2019.

14.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we advise about the loss of one of our team members and a great and long time friend of ours, Graeme Ennor. Graeme passed away yesterday. Graeme has been a stalwart of the social dancing crowd for a large number of years and regularly attended social dances around Melbourne. He was a gentleman and his passing has left a large hole in our hearts and lives. We miss you Graeme.... Rest in Peace. Geoff Louise & Barry. See more

13.01.2022 Dancing With Geoff Louise & Barry resumes our normal Saturday Night Dance this Saturday 20 July 2019 after a very successful Monsters & Mermaids Ball.

09.01.2022 We have been asked some questions re the Saturday Night Dance & the 100 people rule. According to what the Prime Minister said in his Briefing, for gatherings of people in an enclosed area (indoor) there must be a minimum of 4 square metres per person. He also suggested that people observe the social distancing recommendations of 1-1.5 metres apart. We have been advised by Richard South the owner of Star Ballroom that the floor area of Star is 440 square metres. This means th...at Star Ballroom is able, under the regulations, to have 100 people at a dance. As such, Dancing with Geoff Louise & Barry will be continuing to run our dance until such time as the emergency has abated or the Government imposes a Lockdown. We are setting up the Ballroom for the Saturday Night Dance to observe the Social distancing recommendations as per the attached photograph. When our patrons come to the dance, we ask them to put their names in a Contact list in case we should need to contact them at a later date. Star Ballroom Dancers, Currently there are concerns around transmission of the CoronaVirus in common spaces. As a dance studio, it is vital that Star Ballroom’s plan and approach to the CoronaVirus are of a high standard. Whilst we are implementing all we can to make classes and lessons safe and enjoyable for you all, it is crucial that if you believe you have been exposed to or are experiencing symptoms of the COVID-19 that you do not attend Star Ballroom. The following plan outlines our approach to CoronaVirus and good hygiene practices: * Hand sanitiser is available and to be used on entry by all clients and staff Any equipment is wiped down with disinfectant after each use Reception desk, kitchen areas and bathroom/studio door handles are wiped with disinfectant each day and also before social classes Bathrooms are equipped with hand dryers, no shared towels Disposable cups will still be available for drinks, or even better bring a drink bottle Good hand washing practices with soap and water are encouraged Cough etiquette-cough into elbow and dispose of tissues in bins provided Regards Richard South Star Ballroom & Dance Studio
