24.01.2022 Late model Diesel engines have strict Euro 6 emission requirements I am asked to diagnose and repair many new diesel engine problems and this one is on a 2015 Porsche Mecan 3.0 litre diesel Two problems had occurred on this Porsche The first was with the ad blue system my diagnosis found that it was not flowing correctly and on this car it’s was with the ad blue injector fitted in the exhaust system I was able to remove and clean the injector.... Now i was able add the specified amount of ad blue to the ad blue tank and reset the system so now it would accept and measure the correct level of add blue and also the system will check the specific gravity of the fluid is the correct fluid If there are no more faults then the count down message will cancel The message with these systems may say 2000km before engine shut down So it has become a system that cannot be ignored and the car will not be able to be started at the end of this count down The second problem on most late model diesels is with the (DPF) Diesel particulate filter This is a soot scrubber filter on the exhaust system and also are temperature and pressure monitored this also was blocked on this Porsche The next was to drive the car and see if the car would go into Regen on its own this means that the engine ecu will inject additional diesel on the exhaust stroke and raise the dpf temperature up to 500 deg and try to burn of the soot inside the dpf. If this doesn’t work and it dident on this car then with my Autologic scanner i was able to do a forced regen It took 50 mins but finally it did complete the regen and all codes are now cleared The engine is in limp reduced power mode when these faults occur so the owner has no choice but to repair and correct these systems These systems need to have the ad blue filled as soon as requested by the car and with the correct specific additive by the manufacturer But most important is these cars need to be driven on longer drives on an express way at a constant speed so the car will regen it self and keep the dpf clean If these cars are only driven down the road on 5 and 10 min drives then the dpf will block and cause on going problems But for now another happy customer

18.01.2022 I diagnosed this X1 BMW for no power and a throttle body hard code I confirmed with my Autologic scanner that the throttle code was logged and would not clear So i removed the top engine cover and looked at the throttle body and wiring harness I soon found the problem with this car Some one had run the throttle body harness in the wrong position and that allowed the harness to drop down on top of the A/C compressor pulley and damage the harness... I was able to repair the harness and now was able to clear all fault codes Next i carry out the adaptation reset of the throttle body with my scanner I took the car for a road test and confirmed that this cars is all fixed See more

15.01.2022 I was called to diagnose this 2012 Ford Focus it was not cranking and no start also no communications with my scan tool I next tested all my power and earths and all was o.k Next was to check what’s happing to the Can bus network continuing with my pico scope i was able to see my can bus was faulty I next i checked the ohms reading across the high speed can pin 6 and 14 and my readings were too high at 120 ohms indicating i had a terminating can resistor or open circuit fault... With the correct wiring diagrams i was able to test the can network and found the can low between the main fuse box and the bcm was an open circuit Removing the battery box and parts i was able to track down the fault it was a can bus loop wiring plug that had fallen down towards the drive sharft and had broken the can wire I was able to repair the wire and now secured the plug in a safe area Next i was able to retest my ohms can bus readings and now 60 ohms is indicated making this now able to be scanned All code were cleared and now starts and runs Another happy customer See more

14.01.2022 This is a Land Rover Discovery 4 2011 model With a 3.0l v6 Diesel engine This car went into limp mode low power due to engine faults One fault was with EGR sensor B circuit I diagnosed this as a faulty EGR throttle body and after testing a new throttle body was fitted... Then a second problem with these v6 engines is they are a twin turbo system and the second turbo doesn’t work until under load and at 2500 rpm The compressor shut off valve can jam and fill with engine oil So i was able to drain out the excessive oil and free up the vacuum operated linkage The final part to fix these problems is to use my Autologic scanner and download the latest engine ecu software and clear all codes I then road test the car and load the engine and check that both turbos work when required and no faults return This cars is all good and another happy customer See more

04.01.2022 I was called to reprogram a new alarm module and two new keys on this Porsche Boxster S 2004 model First i have to program the new immobiliser with a 16 digit security code Next i program the two key transponders using a 6 digit code next i program the two remote controls using the 6 digit code Next i get to teach the new remotes using a 24 digit code which come with the new keys... And finally i go into coding the new alarm module and now get to finish this key immobiliser job Now i can crank and start this Porsche and test the remote central locking and all tests are all good This job is requires a lot of concentration and i have to make sure all the security codes are entered correctly other wise i could damage and corrupt the new alarm module and it can no longer be used Also very few scan tools are able to scan Porsche cars and do this job but my Autologic scan tools are great for these high tech jobs See more
