25.01.2022 Never give up hope!! Last night I learnt this when by some miracle of luck I managed to resuscitate a precious Saanen doe kid. My top Saanen Doe RM233 Dandalee ...Park Lilibet *Q*11 kidded early without warning and unobserved. When I found her she had two lovely kids standing at her front whilst she sat resting. In horror I suddenly realised she had a third kid - half out - still in its birth sack - drowned and lifeless. It was warm though and realising it was a doe kid I decided to see if I could resuscitate her. She showed no signs of life but I administered mouth to mouth, pumped her chest and rubbed and rubbed her for what seemed like forever. Suddenly I thought I saw movement but i wasn’t sure - I just hoped and kept going. Finally some irratic breathing although very weak. Kid seemed stiff in neck and shook and I feared it might be brain damaged. It wouldn’t/couldn’t suckle. I placed it under heat lamp and fed its siblings and tended to Lilibet. An hour later it appeared a bit improved but still couldn’t drink. 2.30am I went to check fearing the worst. But I was greeted by a kid standing and she drank !!! This morning she’s up and yelling for more milk and back with her triplet sisters. Her name is Dandalee Park Lady Luck - lucky for short. I’m exhausted, elated and grateful. Sometimes fate is kind to us. Hope all is good for you and your goats too. See more

24.01.2022 This years kiddings is almost over. Last few young does due. Eleven month old 75% Nigerian doe - Dandalee Park Bonbon kidded during the night - quads - 2 bucks, 2 does. Kidded easily on her own and all doing well. Can’t believe how fertile and robust this breed appears to be. Bonbon is the daughter of our lovely show doe Dandalee Park Kitkat *Q*4.

23.01.2022 Had a wonderful day at Wanneroo Agricultural Show today. Thank you to all those that supported this lovely event and especially Paul carter and Nancy McKinnon and crew for showing my goats for me whilst I convened the show. Congratulations also to Keren Muthsam who had huge success with Dandalee Park Thiago and Dandalee Park Illusion in Ring 1.

20.01.2022 First Fleet Casper - now 12 months old and a proud dad with many more due. Hoping to show this boy in future- very quiet and easy to handle. Not so easy to photograph - too easily distracted lol.

20.01.2022 First Fleet Caspers first kids arrived last night. 87.5% Nigerian Triplets (a buck and two doe kids) out of Twelve month old Dandalee Park Eden. Found them cleaned, dried and with full bellies this morning. All doing well.

17.01.2022 WA only has a couple of goat shows this season as most are held at Agricultural Shows - which have been cancelled due to COVID. This morning I clipped several of my young Nigerian milkers (all rising 2 yrs old). Pleased with how their condition is considering they’ve all recently kidded and are milking. All First Fleet Felix daughters by different foundation female bloodlines. All only showing a few hours milk in pics.

15.01.2022 Missing the shows - hopefully Western Australia has a couple left after most were cancelled. Trimmed up a couple of Nigerians to see how they scrub up. Very pleased with them. Just need a bit of time for new coats to come through, then should look lovely (fingers crossed). Hope you like them, both Felix daughters.

14.01.2022 Currently developing a Dandalee Park Logo and website. Here’s the draft so far. Saanen was modelled of DP Tamsins photo - she’s a sentimental favourite. Special thanks to Leanne Oliver for developing the draft logo for me. What do you think?

13.01.2022 It’s raining kids here at present. Yesterday had quads out of 12 month old Dandalee Park Humbug (75% Nigerian) - 2boys and 2 girls. One little girls is tiny - j...ust 680g - but up and drinking. More like a stick insect than a goat kid but hopefully she will quickly catch up with her siblings now she doesn’t have to compete with them lol. Very busy here at feed times. See more

12.01.2022 Very pleased with udders on young does coming on. Most are very young - either only 2 years old on second lactation or 1year old just kidded for first time. Being young I expect neat udders well shaped and attached udders. As age and lactations continue its essential they start with good udders. I cull very hard on udder conformation, production and milk ability (teats, shape, texture, jet flow). Here are a few photos taken this morning during milking. Apologies for poor lighting in shed. I’ll add Individual does details in comments. Welcome your feedback. Cheers

11.01.2022 Very pleased with Caspers kids. Two young does (12 months old) have kidded having triplets each - 3 bucks and 3 does all up. Lovely strong and vigorous kids. About 10 more to go. Fingers crossed.

11.01.2022 Introducing two recently kidded Dandalee Park Nigerian does - both approx 14 months old by Sire of Distinction - First Fleet Felix. DP Mosaic (87.5%) and DP Sabrina (100%). Immature but showing great potential for future. Mosaic produced two stunning daughters and Sabrina twins (1buck & 1 doe). Both kiddies to First Fleet Casper and being milked twice daily. Hope you like them.

11.01.2022 Lovely sunny day here today - my young, very pregnant Nigerian goatlings are enjoying the sunshine. All about 12 months old and due to kid to our new buck Casper starting next week. Fingers crossed for event free kidding with lots of healthy doe kids

10.01.2022 Update on our little doe kid flea. Born a quad from a young nigerian doe Flea weighed in at only 680g. But what she lacks in size she more than makes up in en...thusiasm and determination. Now a week later she’s more than doubled her birth weight and doing well. Keen to explore and play as the video shows!!! Hope this makes you all smile - have an awesome day. See more

09.01.2022 Had a lovely day at Brunswick Show on Sunday. Lovely weather for our first goat show in 2020 as all others had been cancelled due to Covid. Great to catch up with fellow enthusiasts. Thanks to Vince Evans for the great photos (Down under Images) and Judy Evans and of course David Sauer for helping me show my goats. Looking forward to our next outing on 21st November at Wanneroo Show. Hope you enjoy the images. Cheers

07.01.2022 When I started in goats I had many generous mentors who helped me learn and get the most enjoyment and success from this wonderful pastime. Now 40 years on I ge...t the opportunity to help newbies with their goats. Most recently was an emergency breach kidding. Last Sunday Beautiful Dandalee Park Cinnamon has stalled during labour. Her new owners were worried and having difficulties accessing veterinary support. Together we were able to untangle and safely deliver gorgeous, healthy triplets - 1 boy and two stunningly colourful girls. Today they forwarded progress photos showing them all happy and healthy. What’s more rewarding than a successful outcome!!! Enjoy, help one another and best of luck with your years kiddings!! See more

07.01.2022 Cold, windy day today. Kids all playing indoors. Can’t believe how quickly they are growing. These are the youngest - only about 2 weeks old. Enjoying a brief break from midwifery, More due next week.

06.01.2022 Having a great run of doe kids. Last two does kidded had 2 each. We are delighted to have lots of healthy, colourful and very promising kids coming on. Here are the most recent - just two days old - by First Fleet Casper (100% ND) out of goatling Dandalee Park Marmoset (50% ND).
