14.01.2022 WOW, what a day! I attended the Australian Bushfire Building Conference today and it was amazing to see the event, after months of work, come to fruition. I worked alongside Agnes from Blue Mountains Events & Conferences who did an incredible job coordinating a virtual and in-person, COVID-safe conference. This year ABC Sydney came on board as conference media partners and live streamed the morning session through their Facebook page, also holding a live Q & A with Resil...ience NSW Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons AFSM and NSW RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers AFSM. My job for the day was to coordinate the questions from conference delegates through EventsAIR - a BRILLIANT platform for digital events. I also coordinated the PR / media publicity in the lead up to the event with 11 articles published throughout industry and local media (check out today’s Gazette). Conference banner, web and logo design by the talented Rosie Wheeler from Cocoon Creative.

13.01.2022 Flashback Remember the old crates, vintage homewares and grandma’s clothes craze? I LOVED it! Waaay back in the years 2013 - 2014 I had a little vintage up-cycling business @itsthevintagehunter. I’d regularly attend vintage auctions, deceased estate sales and trawl garage sales on Saturdays. ... It provided an escape for me from being a full time mama of two little kids & it allowed by creativity to flourish. It was my first taste of operating as small business - online & at local markets - and it had me hooked When the vintage craze died out I went back to freelancing and subcontracting in communications. Sometimes I still miss this business - particularly all the quirky and fun people I met along the way. 09.01.2022 How was your weekend? Did you chase any snow or hide under your doona? We had the pleasure of hosting my mum-in-law’s 70th. She’s a special lady & it was such a pleasure to put on a party for her. I feel grateful we could get the family together in these unpredictable times. I really enjoyed cooking & decorating for the party today. Hosting a dinner party is a whole lot more fun after not being able to do so for some months.

06.01.2022 Indoor plants Are you a fan? I just bought this one for myself yesterday. I have a few around the house but had been desperately wanting a Fiddle-leaf fig plant for awhile. That spot near my front door had been blank for far too long! If you could buy yourself a gift right now - I’m thinking under $100 - what would it be?

02.01.2022 I must admit, when Mal from @jacka_industries asked me to create a marketing plan for his new product - a revolutionary electric roof lifting system for #jaycocampers - I felt completely out of my depth! I’ve used a camper trailer ONCE for a quick family trip over a week. When it came to the nitty gritty terminology, I was lost! Yet, after a couple of meetings with Mal & his dad / business partner Stuart they had me completely sold on their entrepreneurial project. I felt ...excited! I immersed myself in the world of camper trailers and provided them with a ‘road map’ marketing strategy. It included: Situational analysis - where are we now & where do we want to go? SWOT analysis - strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Research on their target market. Key messages to reach their target market. 01.01.2022 A huge congratulations to my clients Joe & Merylese Mercieca @blueecohomes for winning FOUR awards today in the 2020 HIA Australian GreenSmart Awards for environmentally friendly construction and design. I’m so happy for them after all their hard work last year to create Australia’s first Passive House built to BAL-FZ regulations. They also built another incredibly innovative home (second picture) alongside architect @asa_alexandersymesarchitect. This off-grid home ...is amazingly unique, inspired by an upside down Akubra hat, it epitomises sustainable design in the Australian outback. It’s been a pleasure working with Blue Eco Homes over the last 15 months providing content writing, public relations & marketing support.
