22.01.2022 Update: Boil Water Advisory Notification lifted across all suburbs. Water quality testing has confirmed that the water supply in the network is safe to drink. ...Please see latest post https://www.facebook.com/YVWater/posts/3564687696915692 --------------- Boil Water Advice: Our potential water quality issue is affecting the suburbs listed below. The water comes from closed catchments and has been mixed with disinfected water so the likelihood of any illness being caused is low. But we believe it is better to be safe than sorry. We are working with Melbourne Water and DHHS and will confirm when the boiled water notice is withdrawn. If you have already drunk the water, there is a low risk of potential gastro type of illness. People should contact their GP if this occurs. 19.01.2022 FIRE SERVICE REFORM Wednesday 1st July 2020 is set to be a historical date for Victoria's fire services, when the State Government’s Fire Service Reform agenda becomes effective. On this date, the State of Victoria will see an amalgamation of all officers, firefighters and employees of the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), and all career officers, career firefighters and some non-operational employees of the Country Fire Authority (CFA). This newly formed organisatio...n will be known as Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV). All current CFA Volunteers will remain with the CFA, which will revert to being a volunteer-based fire service. Up until 1st July, the Dandenong Fire Brigade, as part of CFA, operated on an ‘integrated’ fire station basis. This meant the station is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a minimum of 12 career firefighters on duty, supplemented by a group of volunteer firefighters who respond to emergencies when needed. For Dandenong, career firefighters respond to the majority of calls the brigade receives, whether it is to calls in the Brigades own response area, or responding to assist neighboring brigades like Noble Park, Keysborough, Hallam, Springvale, or the Metropolitan Fire Brigade. From 1st July, both FRV career firefighters and CFA volunteers will continue to serve the community, co-located at the current station on Princes Highway. FRV stations however have been allocated a new station number, so you will see some rebranding of the station, with FRV personnel operating under the banner of ‘Fire Station 87’, along with the existing CFA livery which will also remain in place. This rebranding will extend to some of the firefighting appliances which have been transferred to FRV they will incorporate the new FRV badge in lieu of their current CFA one. CFA volunteers will continue to utilise the remaining CFA appliances. The Dandenong Fire Brigade has had a long and proud tradition of working with career firefighters in the integrated station model since staff were first appointed to Dandenong in 1953. Regardless whether we are paid or unpaid, volunteer or career, CFA or FRV, the service to the community is our highest priority and will continue to be provided as it is now. Whilst reform of this scale will no doubt bring some challenges, the Dandenong Fire Brigade looks forward to continuing our service as a volunteer organisation, while working alongside our colleagues in the newly formed Fire Rescue Victoria.

12.01.2022 Last night (Friday 26 June) at about 10.30pm a man fell at a skate bowl in Noble Park sustaining a fractured femur. Paramedics requested assistance from the Fir...e services to extricate the injured man. 07.01.2022 Today we mark one year since the start of the devastating bushfires which deeply affected Victorian communities across the state. On 21 November, 2019 the first... ‘code red’ fire danger rating in almost a decade was declared in the Mallee and Northern Country, and dry lightning strikes in East Gippsland that started three fires which grew to a widespread bushfire disaster that burned for months. Today we reflect on the devastation and challenges that followed 21 November and the incredible support from all emergency services who came together to aid the communities impacted by the unprecedented fire season. We appreciate those who are tha...nking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. Thank you and stay safe.
