25.01.2022 Lovely work by Rafaela. It's worth remembering about colours when choosing the jewellery you are going to wear today. Here is a great example of both Contrasting colours with the blue and Complimentary colours with the pink.

24.01.2022 How about this for an Aussie Sapphire?! Traphiche-like colour zoning. Top surface lightly cabbed and polished. Weighs in at a whopping 49.45 Carats. Cut and polished on a flat lap by Aden

23.01.2022 How about using this time to get out your beading supplies and get creative. This Unakite and Silver Necklace is by Raphaela.

21.01.2022 Australia Day Monday 26 Jan Even though it's a Public Holiday we will be open from 7:30pm. Tonight we will be looking at Aussie Gemstones: Opal, Sapphire, Zircon, Sunstone, Agate, Unakite and Topaz to name but a few. Please feel free to come and join us

17.01.2022 Even in lock down when we are running short of stock materials, we can get creative by going through our stash of sterling silver off-cuts and rejects. I put this pendant together using zero new stock - except the Amethyst and the Topaz. It was a very happy lady who received this one.

17.01.2022 Monday 9th March is the Labour Day Public Holiday here in Victoria. As a result the Clubrooms will not be open. We hope to see you all next Thursday; 12 March 2020

15.01.2022 Elephant pendant made from Sterling silver and Australian Sapphire, entirely hand made and designed by Adrian.

10.01.2022 Happy, peaceful and safe Christmas and New Year. We will be re-opening the Clubrooms and Workshop on Monday 6th January 2020Happy, peaceful and safe Christmas and New Year. We will be re-opening the Clubrooms and Workshop on Monday 6th January 2020

10.01.2022 We're Back!!! Monday 9th November. Coffee, catch up and COVID project show and tell. As of Thursday we'll have the Workshop machinery primed and ready to go

10.01.2022 Opal is a difficult gemstone to photograph. This opal was polished without using power-tools. Wet and Dry emery paper to 5000 grit then polished using Cerium Oxide on a piece of leather. I've set it in a hand polished piece of Australian 'Ebony' with a Sterling Silver chenir bail

08.01.2022 Dandenong Lapidary and Gem Club are adhering to the latest COVID-19 control measures. This means that the Clubrooms will not be opening for normal Club activities until we are advised that we can do so. If any Club member needs to retrieve items from the Clubrooms please contact the Club President. There may also be the opportunity to borrow Club equipment during the closure: Again, please contact the Club President to discuss this.

04.01.2022 During this COVID shutdown, we're busy working behind the scenes on upgrading some of our equipment and putting protocols in place so that we can get up and running again as soon as we can. Keep an eye here on facebook for notification on when we can re-convene.

03.01.2022 Wherever there's a need, there's a solution. But this is clever

02.01.2022 Here's another good site for tuition on jewellery making techniques. It's worth checking out and not just for the Welsh accents!

02.01.2022 Another beautiful piece by Raphaela. Imaginative mix of accent elements and natural gemstones featuring Rhodonite, Coral and Unakite.

01.01.2022 As soon as this lock-down is over, we'll be getting out the cuttlefish and doing some more casting. Each of these pendants is made using offcuts of sterling silver from other projects and has been set with a sapphire
