25.01.2022 Thank you Victorian healthcare workers!

18.01.2022 >> BEWARE: Parking Fines of $160 << A safety issue has been raised around parking in the Tom Houlahan carpark (near to the kindergarten). The City of Greater Dandenong's local laws team will be patrolling the area surrounding the school and issuing infringements notices ($160 fines) to community members parking illegally. Please note that we are unable to assist individuals with infringement enquiries as any infringement issued is a matter between the individual and the City ...of Greater Dandenong. Please drive and park with the greatest of care when travelling to and from the school and in our local community. There is free parking available in the Dandenong Plaza car park.

12.01.2022 Some more easing of restrictions from tonight which is great news. However, the message around having any symptoms, no matter how mild, and therefore getting tested and isolating still stands. If you're sick, get tested and stay home until you receive your result. We will continue to sanitise on entry to the school. The use of shared equipment remains limited and, where used, strict hand hygiene remains. Children need to continue to bring their own water bottle. Unfortu...nately there is no change yet to visitors (including parents) on school grounds or with regards to the Year 6 graduation. Let's continue to do the right thing by our community and that of the wider Victorian community.

11.01.2022 "Remembrance Day is when we think about the people who served the country in times of war. If you look back in your family tree you might find someone who fought in a war maybe a long time ago or maybe more recently. Sarah had a look at the experiences of her grandfather and found out what Remembrance Day is all about."

10.01.2022 It’s going to be a hot day today! Don’t forget hats and water bottles...

04.01.2022 >> IMPORTANT UPDATE TO CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS << We are very happy to announce a number of changes to restrictions as part of Victoria moving to the 'Last Step' of the roadmap for reopening. These include: - Parents can now be welcomed back on site for school drop-offs and pick-ups... - The use of drinking fountains in schools is now permitted - Non-essential visitors, such as guest speakers and incursion leaders, are now allowed to attend school on site, subject to gathering limits. Activities involving parent volunteers can also resume. - Subject to public gathering limits, parents can also now attend student graduation ceremonies. Graduation ceremonies and other large gatherings on school site involving external guests are subject to gathering limits for ceremonies; total venue cap (including students, staff and visitors) of 150 indoors or 300 outdoors. - Kindergarten to school transition activities are permitted, but group sizes should not exceed public gathering limits. It is very important to note, however: - Anyone (parents, students and staff) with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, must not attend school and should get tested as soon as possible - If a student has persistent symptoms due to an underlying condition such as hay fever or asthma, the student should still be tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) if they develop symptoms that are different to or worse than their usual symptoms. - Parents/carers should also consider getting a medical certificate from the child’s treating GP to confirm that it is safe for them to attend school with persistent symptoms that may overlap with some of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) such as cough or runny nose. Thank for your continued contribution to reducing the risk of coronavirus infection in our community and for your continued support of our school operations throughout 2020. It's been a challenging year but we have continued to strive for the best possible achievement, engagement and wellbeing outcomes for all. Dandenong Primary School <3

02.01.2022 We're excited to welcome parents and carers back into the playground! It's been too long! Please note: - We will have a 10 minute on site limit (this is because visits of 15 minutes or more requires signing in and out) - Physical distancing of 1.5m for all adults must be maintained... - Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, MUST NOT attend school and should GET TESTED as soon as possible See you soon :)

02.01.2022 2020 has been a tough year for parents. We’ve all had to juggle work, remote learning and caring for our kids. So in 2021 we’re making things a little bit easie...r. We will provide free kinder, saving families around $2,000 for every child enrolled in a funded kindergarten program and we will expand the availability of outside of school hours care. It’s a $250 million investment that cuts costs for families and helps get more parents, particularly women, back to work or to increase their hours. It’s just one of the ways the Andrew Government is making life easier for families as we get back to Covid-19 normal.
