17.01.2022 Growing together. The art of growth. Our motto is "look after YOURSELF, so you can share your strengths; not your weaknesses." Something that I think may be necessary for growth in the modern world.... Sound selfish? On the contrary. Let me explain... We're not 2 halves that make a whole, we don't 'complete each other'. Rather, we are each a self-built whole who ENHANCES and ENRICHES the other. We assist each other occasionally, but we never train together, cook together or even motivate each other! This is for each of us to discover ourselves. Although it makes no sense to completely avoid each other's company, we mostly mind our own business. So we can share our 'whole', rather than ask for the other half. Support will get you so far, but ultimately you will be your own missing link - be advice without interference. Basic survival aside, people seek refuge and comfort in external things. But when allowed, we all know within ourselves how to be 'complete'. When you let a person flourish it reveals the true person they are meant to be; want to be, whilst developing their awareness of themselves and their place in life - therefore creating a paradigm which teaches a person to expect less and appreciate more. In contrast, robbing a person of experience is to rob them of confidence, which will eventually return to the thief as a burden, or resentment. Sure, we have ups and downs; wins and losses; laughs and tears. But we never strive for the elusive 'perfection'; only clarity, habits and skill aquisition. Each error is a seed to a new skill - if we each learn a new lesson we have 2 new lessons between us! So what do we give each other? The greatest gift we can give one another is not in a form DOING or GIVING things. But rather, by NOT RESTRICTING the other from anything they wish to do or be; not robbing them of their own capacity, and discovery of what's right and wrong - allowing the other to experience and share themselves IS the gift. We both discover our own weaknesses and insecurities and strengthen them, rather than demanding that they are catered for. We discover our own passions and capabilities and share them, rather than keeping them to ourselves - each becomes a silent teacher and student of the other's experiences. Equal. Confident. That, I feel, is 200% love. Transcended. Non-dependent. A presence which surpasses what is physical. Its not at all a rule, just a meditation that WE'VE adopted so we can BOTH grow simultaneously. ...So, redefine "selfishness". 01.01.2022 One great lesson I have learned is that, in order to succeed in anything you must eventually take matters into your own mind a mind built on self-awareness an...d confidence. I have been very fortunate: Working with, learning from, and helping thousands of amazing people in their personal development over the last decade (as well as my own journey of struggles and triumphs) has made me realise that collectively knowing, trusting and being honest with yourself is the most difficult accomplishment. And that many adversities that we face arise from ignoring the importance of it. It takes enormous courage to look within. Not only because it is counterintuitive to dig for our deepest truths and fears that hold us back, but also because the external world demands so much attention of us - where we become drained victims of its distractions and emotional obligations. We often look to the outside for answers, even searching for happiness in the way we look (our body image). But the further OUT you look, the further IN you neglect, robbing yourself of precious tenacity, and not to mention, health! I think confidence plays a large role in our capacity to grow as human beings - Confidence is just a ‘familiarity’; a sureness coupled with reward. A great flaw however is that we unknowingly hide ‘lack of confidence’ behind a justified ‘inability’; telling ourselves we can’t do something, when it’s really that we won’t (which is fine if our lives were are simple as a caveman’s). Or, It is also hidden by over-expression and excessiveness, in an attempt to convince the outside world that we are confident; to distract the audience from our true nature. Some fear to do more, some fear to do less, either way, we then forge our identity based on this belief. Yes, we all have limits that can hold us back. But the gift is: they can be trained! I hear no shortage of I can’t do this or I can’t do that. If you can’t accomplish something of most importance to you, it’s because you WONT stop something that isn’t! I myself have had to face the reality of this countless times. Most fears are internal assumptions, that pose no physical threat; only a temporary suppression of the ego which make us feel uneasy. We are too intelligent to use fear as a flight mechanism all of the time. Face it! Rather than viewing confidence as a limiter it needs to be viewed as a pursuit, a final stage to all your efforts proving to yourself that success lies after you stomp all over pre-disposed beliefs; dogma, obligations and indoctrinations. A reward in itself. We all fuck up, but we must trust our innate ability to survive. When you face a challenge for the first time, fear is based on an assumption. Each time you face the same obstacle, remember, a wiser YOU is facing it. Each time you conquer, a new you arsies! As a trainer I face a common misconception that I actually GIVE people results (that my diet and exercises fix everything) as if I'm a clothing store where you buy a new outfit. I do not give people results, I teach them how to learn to get results (there’s a difference) preparing their confidence and psyche along with the skills and tools necessary to regulate their own journey. Until one day, hopefully, they no longer need a trainer. With no experience there is no journey, with no journey there are no lessons, with no lessons there is no knowledge/wisdom, with no wisdom there is no confidence, and with no confidence there are no advancements.
