21.01.2022 Not much to do and just waiting for tennis to reopen? Why not have a read of the article about our club in the Dandenong Star Journal. https://dandenong.starcommunity.com.au//blue-beacon-has-d/

21.01.2022 The wait is finally over! Our tennis courts will be reopening from 6am on Thursday the 22nd of October. As expected, there are some requirements the club, its members and all guests must follow in order to open safely. The following guidelines must be followed until restrictions are eased further:... 1. There is a maximum of 10 people permitted in the club at one time (this is not including the permissible coach) 2. There is a maximum of 4 people per court from no more than two ordinary places of residence (within 25km radius of courts). 3. 1.5 metre physical distancing must occur between each person within the facility at all times. 4. No off-court gatherings before or after play. Ensure you leave when your booking ends and shut the gate behind you. 5. All participants' names (anyone who enters the facility) must be added to your booking. You will receive a message if you do not. 6. A face mask must be worn when entering the facility and when exiting. A face mask is not required during play. 7. Courts 3 and 6 are the only courts to be used for public bookings. Please make sure you play on your booked court. 8. If you have hand sanitiser, it would be recommended you use before and after play 9. The clubhouse is closed indefinitely unless you are a permissible person. Happy Hitting! https://play.tennis.com.au/DandenongTennisClub

20.01.2022 Due to the enforcement of stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, Dandenong Tennis Club will close indefinitely.

20.01.2022 The courts will be reopening from Monday the 13th of July The council has now decided to allow the club to reopen providing we follow some strict guidelines. In order to follow these guidelines, the club has determined the following - Only 2 courts will be open to ensure we do not exceed the maximum of 10 people in the venue. This will be courts 1 and 5. ... - No more than 2 persons in any group, unless from the same ordinary place of residence. If from the same ordinary place of residence, up to 4 family members will be allowed. This is in line with the state government restrictions. - All participants must be added to the booking. - Access to the pavilion will remain closed In addition to these guidelines, the previous set of basic covid guidelines will still need to be followed 1. Social distancing must be observed at all times. 2. No off-court social gatherings before or after play. Get in - Play - Get out 3. It is encouraged to enable the COVID Safe app when you are at the club. Anyone in the club without a booking, or anyone who is not listed in a booking who is at the club WILL receive a warning from the club. This will be monitored closely. ~DTC Committee

06.01.2022 Club Update: The club committee has been in contact with the council regarding the reopening of the tennis club. The council has informed us that we will not be opening the courts until they receive further clarification from the State Government and Tennis Victoria. They want to ensure they have in place a safe plan of action to move forward and begin the opening process of tennis clubs in our area. Also, the new court upgrades are still in progress. I have attached some pi...ctures of the court progress. There have been small delays due to weather conditions. I was not able to get a definitive ETA from the council, however they said 'hopefully by June it will be complete'. We will provide a further update about the reopening process once we hear back from the council.
