25.01.2022 Veronica and Vogue are two recent arrivals who are very funny kittens. Both are highly active, playful and they love to run about and chase each other. These girls are part of two separate litters of nine kittens born in a home where the female cats have continued to breed unchecked. This week we will have Veronica and Vogue's mum desexed and that will be the last of the females from this home that we have had desexed - so no more kitties to come from this home ever again!... Thanks to the great team at Meow & Friends Community Vet for helping us with this desexing work. NOTE: Veronica and Vogue are not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inqiuries or applications for them as yet. #dandycatrescue #desexyourpets #nomorebreeding #vogue #veronica

25.01.2022 MISSING We've been asked to spread the work about a kitty named Monty who has been missing in the Dandenong area. Monty (also responds to Monty Beast) was last seen on September 1 in North Dandenong.... Monty is a medium-hair desexed boy with black and white patches and face markings. He is about five years old and his owner is desperate to find him. If you see a kitty who looks like Monty please contact us here via PM or hand to your local vet for scanning.

25.01.2022 Today our little Prince had to make a visit to our vet as he was not feeling very well. After having been a bit flat for a few days and vomiting this morning, we took this adorable little tabby boy off to see Dr Kieron at Noble Park Animal Hospital. We're happy to report that he is feeling much better this afternoon and has had some food and a kitten nap since returning home to his foster carer's house. ... Hoping our handsome Prince makes a speedy recovery. Prince is not yet ready for adopting and we are not taking inquiries or applications for him at this time.

25.01.2022 It's been a l-o-n-g day being a gorgeous kitten for our newbie Hilton, she's all tuckered out. Hilton (who we thought was a boy, d'oh!) was very hissy and spitty to begin with but in just a few days she has turned into this adorable purry princess. ... Hilton is six weeks old and is a very pretty tabby and white girl. She is not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for her at this time. You can help rescue more kitties just like these by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

24.01.2022 UPDATE: We couldn't give you an update about Marshall without first thanking the very kind people who donated to this boy's care, who reached out to message us and offer support, and those who shared their love for this little guy. Thank you so much. Your generosity and kindness towards this sick little guy has been outstanding. Marshall and his sister came to us with chronic cat flu but it was clear that Marshall's symptoms were far, far worse. One eye was horribly infecte...d and oozing puss, and the other was barely opened. Marshall couldn't see, couldn't clean himself, he was sneezing and had difficulty breathing. Well, we took Marshall to the wonderful team at Noble Park Animal Hospital and under the care of Dr David, Marshall was given a thorough going over. He was diagnosed with cat flu, conjunctivitis, an infected eye and a skin condition. Marshall is now on three types of medications and daily medicated baths, and in just 24 hours he has shown some positive signs of improvement. The redness in his left eye has lessened (still not open but looking less painful) and he has ventured out of his bed to have a bit of a play with his sister. His chances of survival otherwise would have been a matter of a few days at most. Thanks to you all this little guy now has a real fighting chance. If you would still like to help and donate towards Marshall's ongoing care, it's not too late. Any amount will help us pay for his medications that he will need for some time. You can donate via direct bank deposit to: Dandy Cat Rescue Inc BSB: 633000 Account: 162988075 or through GiveNow at: https://www.givenow.com.au/dandycatrescue Thank you from little Marshall!

23.01.2022 WE'RE ADOPTED: Our adorable grey kittens Xena and Tate have gone to their new home today - together! These two kittens forged a very strong bond when they were introduced to each other in foster care - Xena had been bottle-fed since she was a day old and Tate was found weeks later, alone and sick with cat flu in a carport in Noble Park. Although this gorgeous pair is not related, they look so similar and they utterly adore one another - so we are thrilled they will now grow u...p together in their loving new home in Ferntree Gully. We wish Xena and Tate and their new family all the very best of happiness in their lives together. #dandycatrescue #togetherforever #xena #tate

23.01.2022 Calico sisters Coco, Sunny and Minnie are happy and healthy girls despite their rough start in life. These three girls were from two litters of nine kittens in total that we rescued from a home where two female cats had been allowed to breed out of control. In their foster home though, these girls know nothing but fun, comfort and safety. ... This trio very much enjoying spending their days chasing each other around their foster home, curling up together for kitten naps and being completely adored by their foster carer Katrina and her daughters. Coco, Sunny and Minnie will be having their vet work done in mid-December so we are not taking inquiries or applications for them just yet. But we will keep you posted on their progress here. You can help us rescue more kitties just like these pretty girls by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

23.01.2022 We introduced you to Aela and her four babies on the weekend, and now we'd officially like you to meet her kittens! Say hello to Alistair, Jai, Mouse and Charm. These babies and their ever-watchful mumma have been settling into foster care really well. Aela has shown herself to be a real daddy's girl, having taken a liking to her foster carer's husband in a big way. Aela turns on the charm whenever her foster daddy is around ... We would like to thank everyone who has donated food through Pet Circle and contributed money towards helping this little family (especially you Jenny, thank you!!!!) We know everyone is doing it tough right now, so we are enormously grateful for the support we get. We have been able to put Aela on a diet of good-quality food, and their foster carer has been systematically ridding this little fur family of the fleas they were covered in when we got them. Things are really starting to look up for these little ones, so thank you for helping them. If you'd like to help towards their ongoing care, please use the link below or direct bank deposit to: Dandy Cat Rescue BSB: 633000 Account: 162988075 https://www.givenow.com.au/dandycatrescue $10 pays for flea and worm treatment for one kitten $15 pays for wet food for a kitten for 2 weeks $20 pays for a small bag of dry food for the kittens $50 pays for a big bag of dry food for mumma for a month The love they receive is priceless.

22.01.2022 Our president's dog Molly not only helps out teaching cats and kittens not to be frightened of dogs but she's also a bit of an @operaaustralia singer too! 22.01.2022 Who said cats don't like water? Our gorgeous girl Charity is OBSESSED with the running tap and can't get to the sink quick enough when she hears it. Charity has been in foster care for almost a year now as she has some issues that we've been working through with her. We're hopeful that in the coming months she'll be at the adoptable stage but there's still a way to go. ... The good news is that she's making excellent progress, albeit very slowly and at her own pace. She's a very unique girl and we look forward to the day we can put her up for adoption. We're just not quite there yet.

21.01.2022 UPDATE: Have a look at how beautiful our former rescue kitten Pixie has grown up to become! This beautiful ginger and white babe, who was adopted in 2019, has the most amazing coat and is so happy and so loved in her forever home. Pixie's mum Rachel says: 'Just wanted to say that she is the most beautiful sweet little angel, and so stunning now. I'm just so in love with her. She's my baby. Thanks to you guys for rescuing and fostering her".... Awww, we have all the feels....

21.01.2022 Today we pay tribute to our hard-working and devoted mumma cats Jade, Alphaba and Aela. Between them, these young mums have successfully raised 14 kittens. These girls are barely out of kittenhood themselves and have coped incredibly well with birthing their babies in less than ideal circumstances. We also have a litter of five kittens who came without their mumma, and we acknowledge her too. ... Life can be really, really tough for young, undesexed and unwanted female cats. They're scared, hungry and often go without themselves so they can feed their little ones. Our mumma Jade was recently desexed and soon we'll be looking for a home for her. Next it will be Alphaba's turn, followed by Aela. The struggle for undesexed female strays and dumped kitties and their babies is real, and it's horrible. Please, have the conversation with your family, friends and neighbours about the importance of desexing of pets. You can help rescue more kitties just like these mums and babies by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

21.01.2022 After turning up in a local backyard pregnant, Gypsy took some convincing to come to safety and have her babies. We managed to trap Gypsy and bring her into care in the afternoon - and that night she gave birth to two girls and a medium hair black and white boy. That was seven weeks ago and Gypsy has learnt to let her guard down and relax, and her little babies have gone from tiny beans to playful and active kittens. ... Soon these kittens will be having their vet work done and we will be looking for homes for all of them but in the meantime these kitties are enjoying being a family in safety. **Not yet ready for adoption** #dandycatrescue #furfamily #rescued

20.01.2022 Wishing our former foster kitten Ursula (now Mia) a very happy first birthday. Mia's mum Shruti recently threw her beloved kitty a first birthday party to celebrate the very special occasion - complete with a birthday hat for her baby girl. Mia was born in our care and was from a litter of five kittens to our rescue mumma cat Anastasia. All went on to find happy, loving homes of their own.... It's hard to believe it has been a year since Mia and her siblings were born. We are sharing some of her baby photos today to celebrate her special day too You can help rescue more kitties just like Mia by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. 20.01.2022 Avril and Buster are starting off the day with their cute kitten antics - and it couldn't be more adorable. These kittens are from one of two litters of nine kittens in total, all born in a home where a second generation of cat was being allowed to breed unchecked. Today their mumma cat will be desexed and that's the end of this one particular breeding cycle - but there are still so many more for us to work with in our community.... We are so very grateful for the support we receive from you, our cat-loving community. We are very lucky to have such kind-hearted folk with us on this sometimes very difficult journey. If you'd like to donate towards the desexing of cats and end their endless breeding cycles, please click on the link below. You can make a difference to a little life ! https://www.givenow.com.au/dandycatrescue NOTE: Avril and Buster are not yet ready for adoption. They too will need their vet work done, and they're too little just yet. We will advise when we are taking inquiries and applications for these little ones.

20.01.2022 Our ginger ninja Murphy is looking for a very special home with an experienced 'cat person'. Murphy came into care with his two sisters. The girls were adopted easily but Murphy was especially frightened of people and has taken quite a long time to come around. When he is relaxed in your company Murphy is funny, playful, sweet - and he can even play fetch like a dog. ... But he needs a home that will understand it is going to take him more time than usual to settle in and find his feet. This is not a kitty for a first-time cat owner or someone who has no experience of cat behaviour. We do not recommend Murphy go to a home with children. Older teenagers who know cats would be fine. Please read Murphy's profile carefully before inquiring about this kitten: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/820648 Microchip: 956000012283527 Source: EE100498

20.01.2022 We have welcomed a gorgeous little tuxedo boy to the Dandy Cat Rescue Inc family after he was handed in to a local vet. This kitten was found hiding behind a heating unit and was not terribly impressed at being rescued, but it turns out that he's a total sweetheart. As he is not properly weaned, we are bottle feeding this little guy while simultaneously introducing him to solid food, so he can grow up big and strong.... We don't have a name for this handsome little boy, so we'd love to hear your suggestions! What do you think his name should be? #tuxedo #kitten #dandycatrescue

20.01.2022 Our gorgeous new arrival Tate may be little but he already loves cardboard boxes just like a big kitty. Tate was recused from a carport in Noble Park earlier this week. One of his eyes was glued shut from bad cat flu and he had an upper respiratory chest infection. But after a vet visit and a few days on medication, this little man is now looking so good! We are transitioning Tate from being being bottle fed to solid food, and he's doing really well so far. ... Tate is just four weeks old and is not yet ready for adoption. We are not taking inquiries or applications for this adorable grey boy just yet, but we'll keep you updated. You can help rescue more kitties just like these by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. 19.01.2022 ***Carer found, thank you!!!*** URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED: We have been alerted to a mother cat and her three-week kittens in a desperate situation, and we urgently need to find a foster carer to take them. This mum and her three babies are in a backyard of government housing in Berwick. We need someone who has some experience with mother cats or previous fostering, and here's why.... ... This kitty has been fending for herself for weeks after being left behind, so she and her babies need someone who understands she may be timid/frightened or protective to start with. If she is not rescued by this Wednesday her kittens will be taken from her by a government agency. We cannot let this happen. Please, if you can help send us a PM with your name, a few details about yourself, your experience and your suburb as well as a contact phone number.

19.01.2022 I'M ADOPTED! When Jess came to us with her kitten in tow, we knew right away that she was a special, loving girl despite having it rough on the streets. What we didn't know was that Jess had developed a gum condition that required quite a lot of vet care. Initially treating her condition with cortisone injections, we had to make the decision to have some of her teeth removed to give her the pain-free life she so deserved.... The Jess of today has healed form her surgery, and we are delighted to say that after getting the green light from our amazing vet, Jess has found her forever home! This funny, loving, sweet and intelligent girl will be going to her new home this Sunday and we are so grateful to her foster carer - , also named Jess - for helping get this girl back on track and on the right foot to being adopted. We are so excited to see this very deserving girl go to a home where she will be loved and adored for all her days.

18.01.2022 Nothing says "welcome to your new home" like the popping of champagne corks That's exactly what the new owners of Windsor did to celebrate the recent adoption of their adorable little kitten. Windsor is very much loved by his new people, who want to make sure this kitty feels at home but that he also gets a good education. ... To help Windsor get used to his dads' voices he is being read Girl, Woman, Other, ensuring he is also the most woke little kitty in Collingwood. Clever little Windsor is also a wiz on the laptop, helping his dad Cian with his admin work! Well, more kitten napping then actual helping...but #socute Windsor's dad Hugo writes: "We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect little prince with a wonderful temperament, and we are so grateful to you for choosing us." Getting all the feels about this very happy adoption story, awwww.

18.01.2022 Look who have finally opened their eyes to the world - it's Jade's little gemstones! Now that their peepers have opened, their foster carers have given them names - so please welcome mumma Jade and her babies Kyanite (m), Crystal (f), Zircon (m), Jett (m) and Jasper (m). These kittens have really started to thrive and put on weight, and they are getting more and more active every day. ... Very patient mumma cat Jade is a terrific mum who dotes on her little gemstones but also enjoys a little time away for pats and cuddles with her foster carers. We really look forward to updating you on this little fur family's progress as they grow. Thank you to everyone who has donated food and money towards helping this gorgeous little family!

17.01.2022 Jade and her little gemstones would like to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased food and supplies through Pet Circle and to those who very kindly donated money to us this week. We are thrilled with the response to our appeal, especially given how tough things are in this COVID-19 situation. Without our usual fundraising options it is hard for us to prepare for the kitten season ahead so we are grateful for the help from you - our wonderful supporters!... 17.01.2022 Late yesterday we took in a litter of five kittens that were in urgent need of rescuing from a backyard in Noble Park. The three boys and two girls could no longer stay where they where they were, so we spring into action and they're now in safe with our foster carer Kate in Cheltenham. These kittens are from the same property where we took in Xena, our little bottle-fed warrior princess about six weeks ago. We are working to have the many female cats at this location desexe...d, so as to break this breeding cycle. At the same time the rescue of the kittens was happening yesterday, we received this wonderful donation of kitten food from Irene Chan via Pet Circle delivery. The timing could not have been more purr-fect, so thank you Irene! We have been inundated with mother cats and kittens this breeding season and are struggling to feed all of our little rescues. If you are able to make a donation, no matter what size, to help us feed our kittens and cats we would be so grateful. Times are tough and it is difficult to ask however we are in desperate need. Please help us if you can: https://www.givenow.com.au/dandycatrescue #dandycatrescue #appeal #WeNeedYourHelp

16.01.2022 Yesterday we took in these two kittens rescued from a farm after they were going to be put down As they were not wanted by the farm owner, these little lives were to be cut short. Thankfully one of our wonderful foster carers stepped in and was able to get them into care. These pretty babies are about 6-7 weeks old and are quite frightened of people but they are now safe and in the very best of care. Yesterday they went to the vet and will soon be having their first vaccina...tion. We will update you on these cuties once they have had some more time to settle in. #dandycatrescue #saved #desexyourpets

16.01.2022 Look who is getting ready for their vet work soon - it's Slippers, Pumpkin, Ghost, Scoobie and Lady. These adorable siblings, the babies from our mumma cat Alphaba (who was unable to continue feeding them due to bleeding nipples), are growing up so fast! Soon these little ones will be getting ready to find their forever homes but for now they still have a little bit of growing to do.... Slippers, Pumpkin, Ghost, Scoobie and Lady are not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for them as yet. #dandycatrescue #rescuekittens #tabbycats #awww

16.01.2022 UPDATE: Gorgeous Donovan is back at home with his family after suffering an upset tummy and having to go back to the vet this week. This is why when we adopt a cat or kitten out that we ask the new family to stay in touch with us and let us know if kitty becomes unwell within the first 7 days. Donovan's family let us know he wasn't well and we were able to arrange for Donovan to be treated and returned home happy and healthy. ... Let's hope Donovan can put the tummy bug behind him and relax in his home once again.

16.01.2022 GREAT NEWS!!! Look who made her way into the trap this morning - it's the mumma cat from Berwick!!! This kitty is the mother of our spicy kittens Pepper, Tikka, Chilli and Masala , who had been living in the backyard of a government housing complex in Berwick. One of this cat's kittens is still evading capture but now that we have mum we are very optimistic about catching this last little one. ... Trap still set and we're not giving up! We will keep you updated on this gorgeous little fur family.

15.01.2022 WELCOME....GAMBLE! This adorable little grey kitten is one from a litter of three we recently took in to care. Gamble and his sisters, Jackpot (black & white) and Casino (black), were found on a property in Noble Park without their mum and were handed in to Noble Park Animal Hospital. We attempted to put them with our mumma cat Gypsy, who had recently weaned her own babies, however she wanted nothing to do with them. So we immediately began bottle-feeding these babies and th...ey have been doing well on kitten formula. In two weeks, these little ones have almost doubled in size and now have nice round tummies and very strong meowing voices. They have also learnt how to purr and love being brushed with a soft baby brush. We will update you more on their progress as it can be quite challenging with kittens this young (not to mention all the sleep our foster carers are no longer getting!). But, so far, all the signs are looking good for these adorable little ones. #dandycatrescue #gamble #greyboy

15.01.2022 When you're a little kitten the whole world can seem like a pretty big place. So we can completely understand why Hattie thinks her bed is giant sized. This adorable little girl has some growing to do yet, but sleeping in her foster carer's dog's bed can make her smaller than she appears in real life. Hattie is a super pretty and affectionate girl who is super adorable. She is not yet ready for adoption so we are not taking inquiries or applications for her just yet. But stay... tuned here for more details soon! #dandycatrescue #prettygirl #sleepycat See more

13.01.2022 Today we are listing our gorgeous little ginger boy Mowgli for adoption. Mowgli is not a lap cat but will sit with you on the sofa and soak up your pats when he is in the mood - affection with this kitty is on his terms. ... This kitten had a rough start in life and we request that potential adopters carefully read his profile before requesting an application for this very striking little boy. Mowgli would do well in a home with the company of another cat or a small, cat-friendly dog too. 10.01.2022 UPDATE: Sometimes a series of circumstances happen in a way that make you believe in destiny. This happened with George the cat and his mum Bec. George was meant to be sent to the pound, but we happened to get him just in time. George was meant to be adopted by another applicant but she was unable to take him, so he was adopted by Bec. We like to think that somehow George (formerly George Washington) had a bit of a hand in how his life has turned out to be such a happy one. H...e adores Bec and she adores him, and as you can see he is right where he is meant to be, surrounded by love. Things could have turned out quite differently for George, as undesexed stray male cats generally do not fare well at the pound. Instead he is thriving, and we couldn't be happier for him. Bec writes: "I'm so glad his original adopter fell through and he came home with me, he is the bossiest and funniest cat I've ever known and a delight. "He took over the apartment as soon as he arrived. Every plant, piece of furniture, rug, toy, laptop, human - all his to chew, stalk, squash, and love on when and how he sees fit. He now includes the courtyard in his kingdom and no bug or earthworm is safe from his patrols. "George chirps his feelings all through the day and is hilariously clear in making his needs and wants known. After long days of zoomies he alternates between video bombing my work Zoom calls, or getting cuddly wrapped around my neck. "New people and new places don't phase him a bit. He is quirky, bossy, loving, intelligent, and very charming. Thank you (and Jess, his foster carer) for rescuing him!" Thanks for sharing this wonderful update Bec, we are so thrilled to see George living his very best life. You can help us to rescue more kitties just like George by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

09.01.2022 Kitten season is about to start and it will hit us hard. September to April is our busiest period as we juggle the influx of abandoned pregnant cats, dumped newborn babies and unwanted kittens and cats - not to mention the wounded and abused. With Covid restrictions, our food and treatment donations are dwindling. If you can help us with online product purchases, safely delivered directly to us, you would be setting us up to for what will inevitably be a very trying and diffi...cult kitten season. Please share this post to help us reach more people. Thank you for helping us save so many innocent lives.

09.01.2022 UPDATE: It's been a very big year for rescue kitty Juliette - and an even bigger one for her family. Juliette (now known as Julie) was rescued and taken into our care before being adopted in May to a lovely couple, Krystal and Dave. Well since then there has been another new addition to the family and Julie recently had her photo in the Herald Sun newspaper!... Krystal writes: ''Her gorgeous photo and cheeky story of her enjoying our Christmas tree makes for a funny and heart-warming read. ''Although she is cheeky at times, we love her to bits! She is a very gentle soul and loves lots of cuddles and smooches, but is unforgiving and determined to climb and play with the Christmas tree. She even helps herself to unwrap the presents! "Julie has settled in well after we adopted her back in May from Melissa. We also have a new addition to the family, baby Sam, who Julie is a little shy of, but is slowly warming to." We are so delighted to hear such a happy story in what has been a pretty challenging year. Awwwwww.

09.01.2022 Ooops, we're going to have to reintroduce a kitten to you all because SHE turns out to be a HE Everyone, meet Mickey (formerly known as Pawdrey)! Yes, turns out that Mickey is actually a boy kitten and not a girl kitten as we first thought. Now that his identity crisis is over, Mickey is settling in to his new name and his foster carer's home and he is an adorable little handful. ... Mickey is exceptionally cute and he's also a very energetic and playful boy. He's not overly keen on the other kittens his age that he is in foster care with but we're sure that will change soon. Say hello to adorable little Mickey! Mickey is not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for him as yet.

09.01.2022 Our recent appeal for food and flea and worm treatment for our mumma cat Jade and her little gemstone kittens has been met with an amazing response! We wanted to wait until all the deliveries had arrived to show just how wonderful you all are for helping us with this little fur family and to help set us up for the kitten season ahead. Along with some lovely cash donations from Emma, Ms Waring, Sadia, Ira and Marta (as well as our regular donors Tammy, Skye and Leslie), we re...ceived enough Royal Canin Mother and baby cat tinned and dry food as well as flea and worm treatments to see us through for some time! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Jenny Niere, Lynda Louise, Tori Vanin and Liana Duric and family for their generosity and kindness in donating these essential goods to our kitties. A special shout out to Pet Circle for their fantastic donation of worm and flea treatments as well. We are delighted to announce that Pet Circle will be continuing supporters of our rescue after we recently signed on as one of their very lucky donation recipients. Pet Circle is active in the animal community and strives to help out less fortunate dogs and cats where possible. The Pet Circle team has donated tens of thousands of dollars worth of pet food to organisations, and we very much look forward to this new relationship. Thanks so much to Pam and Carla for making this happen.

09.01.2022 Here at Dandy Cat Rescue Inc we are very lucky to have such wonderful supporters. Not many people are aware that we are a completely volunteer-run group which doesn’t get funding from anyone. Not the government, not the council. Without supporters like Lynda Louise, who donated this comfy cat bed (modelled to perfection by Clancy) and her friend Beth, who donated some food recently, feeding and caring for all of our kitties would be much more challenging. As all cat owners k...now, cats can be super fussy at meal times, so we need to keep a wide variety of food on hand to feed our kitties. Some want meat, some want only high-end, top shelf food and others will eat just about anything. If you can’t foster and can’t adopt but would really like to help cats and kittens in need, send us a private message and we can talk about options. We are so grateful for the support! Alternatively, you can help rescue more kitties by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

Fans of Frida Kahlo can show their love by buying a pair of the Frida socks from the Feed Me Socks MonthlyMeow range - and $4 from every purchase goes to helping us save more street cats and kittens. 09.01.2022 Today we are listing for adoption our super funny, playful and gorgeous boy Willis. With his lovely grey tabby and white colouring, Willis has striking good looks but he is so much more than his cute features. Willis is very playful and fun - he loves to zoom about the house, chase toys, play with just about anything that moves (and even things that don't move!) and he is highly entertaining.... Willis would fit in well with an active family where there is a lot going on. He does well with lots of interaction and would make a great playmate for a young child looking to bond with a kitty for life. 08.01.2022 Her eyes are really quite mesmerising - anyone else feel like Clover is staring right into your soul? This beautiful dark torti girl is not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for her as yet. We still have some way to go in socialising this exceptionally pretty girl but she is making progress every day. So proud of her for coming this far!

08.01.2022 Jade's little gemstones are growing up so fast! We'll do a photo shoot with them this week but here's some of today's antics. All 5 of Jade's kittens - Crystal, Zircon, Jasper, Jett and Kyanite - are doing really well. They'll be over the 500g mark soon!... These kittens are not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquires or applications for them at this time.

08.01.2022 When good friends and cat lovers Julie Kearon and Bec got together recently, they decided that they wanted to do something to help our rescue. Julie had won a brand new Drinkwell water fountain and wanted to donate it to us to help keep our little ones cool in summer. And Bec thought we could do with some new toys for our babies. But when Bec's young sons, Hayden and Cameron, heard what their mum and her friend were doing, the boys collected up their own money to buy some foo...d for our babies! Hayden and Cameron have their own kitty at home, Simba, and it's the first cat they've ever owned. They also know not all kitties are as lucky as Simba so they wanted to do something to help. Thank you so much to Bec and her boys and to Julie, who is a long-time supporter of ours. We are so lucky to have such kind and caring people helping our little rescue kitties. If you, your children or your friends would like to donate goods to help our kitties, please send us a private message and we'll be in touch!

08.01.2022 We adore little Alistair, one of Aela's kittens, but in particular it's his facial expressions. Every photo we take of Alistair is more hilarious and adorable than the next. This little guy has some serious furtive looks he gives the camera - but it can't help but make us love him even more. Alistair is a brother to Charm, Jai and Mouse, and he is the black sheep of the little fur family in so many ways. ... Aela is raising her kittens in our care after we rescued them from a home where they were locked in a bathroom. They have adjusted very well to foster care and the kittens are nursing perfectly. Alistair and his siblings are not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for any of them as yet. We will keep you updated on their progress. You can help rescue more kitties just like Alistair by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. 07.01.2022 Mickey and Masala may be from different litters but that doesn't stop them from being the very best of friends. Mickey came to us as an orphan and Masala was from a litter (and their mum) resced from public housing in Berwick. When these two came together in foster care they immediately started playing and hanging out together, and Masala's sister Tikka even joins in on the fun from time-to-time.... While neither of these kittens are ready for adoption as yet, we will be updating you on their progress as we head into the busy Christmas period. We are not taking inquiries or applications for these little ones just yet. #dandycatrescue #rescuekittens #mickey #babypram #socute

06.01.2022 This is a bit of a love story between a former stray kitty Daisy and her adopted brother Finn. Daisy came to us as a pregnant stray and gave birth to three kittens. She raised her babies well, and just when she was just about to put motherhood behind her we had a litter of four orphaned kittens come in. We took a chance and introduced the orphans to Daisy, who immediately claimed them as her own. This amazing girl raised nine kittens altogether, and we successfully found hom...es for all of them. Then, after she was desexed (no more babies!), it came time for Daisy to find a home of her own. Kate had read Daisy's story and immediately knew she had to adopt her. Daisy initially had a kitty companion in Kate's home, who sadly passed away. Then Kate adopted Finn, and the two gingers took to each other right away. Now they spend a lot of their time curled up together and are besotted with one another. Kate says that during isolation Daisy has grown in confidence and will now happily sit on a lap for cuddles and will purr away the whole time. She is a very happy cat who is loving this next chapter in her young life. You can help rescue more kitties just like Daisy and her babies by buying one of our 2021 fundraising calendars. 100% of the proceeds go to the rescue. The $25 price includes free postage anywhere in Australia! https://dandycatrescue.bigcartel.com/

05.01.2022 UPDATE: Have you heard the term "foster fail"? Gorgeous Cece is a beautiful example of a foster fail - a kitty that goes to a foster carer who absolutely cannot bear to part with her and decides to adopt the kitty themselves. Cece was a very timid cat and needed one-on-one care by someone who was very patient and willing to put in the time to help her come out of her shell at her own pace. Then along came Kay. Cece went into the care of Kay in mid-2020 as a foster kitty. But ...over time the bond between Kay and Cece deepened, to the point that last week Kay officially adopted this pretty girl. Kay writes: "Cece is so wonderful, I really couldn't let her be adopted out to someone else. We have grown really close the last few months and although still a shy girl, she has blossomed and come out of her shell a lot since I first got her. "She enjoys chasing after the balls, and just the last couple of months has come to sit next to me on the couch in the evening and also now sleeps on the end of my bed every night - and when my alarm goes off she walks up the bed and lies down closer to me , it's so nice. I did not train her to do anything - she just did all those things!" We are so delighted that Cece has found her forever home with Kay, and we wish them all the very best of happiness together. #dandycatrescue #adoptedcat #cece

03.01.2022 UPDATE: Adorable little Prince has been in his new home for a few weeks now and he continues to make his home his castle. This adorable boy is a total sweetheart, and his new mumma Lana and her partner say they can't imagine life without him now. Lana writes: "He is so cuddly, he loves laying on our laps (or on our heads when we're sleeping). He's just like a normal kitten now, playful and naughty (5am zoomies anyone?)... "Thank you for everything you do rescuing strays so people like us can find their furbabies". It brings us such joy to be able to bring a kitty in need together with a loving family like Prince's. 02.01.2022 We'd like to shine a light on how gorgeous our little rescue kitten Hilton is - but it looks like this amazing weather is doing that for us! Hilton was rescued form a backyard in Wheelers Hill. We suspect she'd become separated from her siblings and mumma, and was not especially happy to be rescued. At first very hissy and spitty, Hilton soon showed us how lovely and sweet she really is - and now she's just putty in our hands. ... Hilton is not yet ready for adoption and we are not taking inquiries or applications for her as yet; she still has growing to do and will need her vet work done. 01.01.2022 Happy Halloween everyone!

01.01.2022 Today we are listing our gorgeous girl Clover for adoption. Having spent most of her young life on the streets, it took a little time for Clover to adjust to being in a home and in foster care. But boy is she is there now - she has really turned the corner and is ready for a home of her own.. Clover is a very sweet and super pretty girl (her eyes are incredible) who loves to play with her foster care's young cat as well as hop up on the lounge for a pat.... Clover is not yet a lap cat but she has started to show that she is ready to be. As she is still quite young herself (18 months), Clover will adjust well and grow to become more affectionate with her person/people. Clover is fine to be patted and smooched however she is not overly fond of being picked up. Clover will take a little time to let her guard down in her new home but she will absolutely be worth the wait. 01.01.2022 I'M ADOPTED...AGAIN! It's been a matter of second time lucky for our little tabby kitten Jai. After being adopted for a first time, the adoptive family's cat did not respond at all well to Jai and the very sad decision was made to return him to our care. Jai is a very energetic and playful boy and he wants to be friends with everyone - but this cat wanted no bar of him. So, sadly, it was decided to return Jai to us, which was extremely upsetting for the adopters as they love...d Jai very much and had really tried to bring the cats together. Now, in great news for this confident, plucky little guy, Jai has gone to his new home - where there is no other cat for him to stress out. Jai has settled in really well and is utterly adored by his new family (pictured). Go Jai! #dandycatrescue #adopted #fureverhome
