21.01.2022 Just heard my book is number one on the best-seller list at the wonderful Red Kangaroo Books! Among fine company, I have to say. Thanks for making my day #redkangaroobooks!
20.01.2022 So blessed to be in Darwin for the NT Writers Festival, which opened last night with a ceremonial smoking by the Larrakia people in a garden of towering trees. Afterwards the Yolngu women brought tears to my eyes as they ‘cried’ their Whale Dreaming, followed by a series of short readings by festival writers. After directing so many festivals these past 5 years it felt such an honour to read from my own work. So looking forward to taking part in this beautiful program.
15.01.2022 From a review of 'Return to Dust' in The Age over the weekend: "Dani Powell has lived in Alice Springs for decades and it shows in this arresting, poetic account not only of Central Australia's landscape but also of modes of being in the world." Thank you Kerryn Goldsworthy. https://www.theage.com.au//fiction-reviews-smart-ovens-for

04.01.2022 Today was the most perfect launch. Thank you to the most incredible speakers - senior Arrernte woman, Amelia Turner, who translated the title to Arrernte and proceeded to read the opening quote from Genesis, in Arrernte. To my dear friends and fellow writers Leni Shilton and Sylvia Purrurle Neale for their careful reading and beautiful words. To my friend Alex Barwick for weaving us all together with her genuine warmth; and to the crowd who came and the country that held us all together. To my friends and family near and far, and to UWA Publishing who believed in this book, my heartfelt thanks. UWA Publishing
