11.01.2022 Last night he touched the creases in the rolls of my belly and I didn’t flinch. I mean I haven’t flinched externally, outwardly physically for a while now... feigning a body confidence and acceptance as that’s what I desired so deeply. But the flinch was always there in my mind. In my story of what he was perceiving and who it meant I was. ... Last night for the first time I didn’t flinch but instead found myself leaning into the comfort that my body is home. As it is for my children. As it is when I’m alone. As it is for my lover. With this realisation sinking into my foundations it became clear that by allowing myself to know my body as home, to receive his love of me as home I am allowing him to love me at a deeper level. And this is the magic of connected relationships with yourself to open to others.
