25.01.2022 Great to be back on Alfrieda Street in St Albans Town Centre today, preparing for the first virtual St Albans Lunar New Year Festival with many members of our local Vietnamese community and representatives of the St Albans Business Group. Thank you to all who are doing so much to make this festival happen. #westisbest... Big Sam's Market - St Albans Natalie Suleyman MP Councillor Thuy Dang

23.01.2022 You should have recently been delivered a handy flyer in your letterbox with information about local COVID testing centres and other useful information about our wonderful local community.

23.01.2022 Every year at 11am on 11 November - the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month - Australians pause to remember those men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace-keeping operations. This year is the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 102nd anniversary of the first Armistice Day. While we are unable to mark this year’s Remembrance Day by gathering together at Sunshine RSL or the Shrine of Remembrance, you a...re invited to honour the memory of homecoming, reunion and sacrifice by joining an online commemorative broadcast at 10.45 am tomorrow. This will be live-streamed on the Shrine's Facebook and Youtube channels: https://www.shrine.org.au/remembrance-day-2020 The Remembrance Day National Ceremony will also be taking place at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra from 10:45 am tomorrow. This will be broadcast live across Australia by the ABC, and available later on ABC iView. Lest we forget.

21.01.2022 This Government voted against the Hayne Royal Commission 26 times and tried to suppress the financial abuse of thousands of Australians from being exposed. Two years on, they’ve only implemented one-third of its recommendations. Now, they’re pursuing a shocking and dangerous plan to rip up consumer protections and destroy responsible lending standards... The Australian Treasury, the RBA, the big banks, CHOICE, Financial Counselling Australia and the Consumer Action Law Centre all recognise this is a terrible idea. It’s time for the Government to stop before Australians are harmed. You can read my full speech here: https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Bus//Hansard_Display

21.01.2022 I wish you and your family a joyful, healthy and peaceful Christmas.

20.01.2022 All Australian workers deserve to be safe at work and to be paid fairly. Thanks to the SDA - the Union for Workers in Retail, Fast Food & Warehousing, Transport Workers Union - TWU and AWU - Australian Workers' Union for highlighting the appalling systemic exploitation of many workers in our food supply chains and for championing much needed change.

17.01.2022 With COVID restrictions easing, it was a pleasure to join with all the wonderful staff and students at St Peter's Sunshine South West for their school assembly today. I was delighted to congratulate many students on receiving certificates and public recognition for their hard work and commitment to learning, including the winners of the 2020 Fraser Young Leaders Awards.

16.01.2022 I’m delighted to be back at Parliament House in person again this week to represent the Fraser community. Parliament stands on the traditional lands of the Ngunnawal people and it was a privilege to join with Ngunnawal elders and my Labor colleagues for a very special Smoking Ceremony to mark NAIDOC Week 2020 this morning. 14.01.2022 Fraser’s aviation workers and their families deserve the security of a proper plan from the Morrison Government to safeguard the future of this vital sector #SaveQantasJobs #SaveAviation

12.01.2022 This Government has never believed in universal superannuation and it is continually looking for excuses to cut the retirement savings of Australian workers.

11.01.2022 This week, Australia celebrates NAIDOC Week, guided by the theme of ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’. This recognises that Australia’s First Nations people have occupied and cared for our continent for over 65,000 years. We acknowledge and celebrate the breadth and depth of First People’s knowledge, achievements, experiences and stories. While we won’t be able to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2020 in the way we normally do, there are still ways to get involved. For more information and t...o find out about events happening across Australia this week, visit www.naidoc.org.au Victorian Naidoc

08.01.2022 More affordable childcare is great for kids, great for parents and great for the economy. Labor’s Cheaper Child Care policy plan will deliver immediate support to families. We will also work with the ACCC to bring child care fees under control, ensuring that parents benefit more.

08.01.2022 Today, many Fraser residents are celebrating Diwali. The Festival of Lights is a celebration of life’s blessings and the triumph of good over evil. This year, of course, Diwali will be different, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less special.... Wishing a safe, prosperous and Happy Diwali to everyone in Fraser and around Australia celebrating today.

08.01.2022 It was great to meet with the leadership of St Albans Sports Club at Kings Park Reserve, home of the St.Albans Football Club and St Albans Cricket Club, and to discuss plans for continued investment in our community sporting facilities . After a difficult year, the Club is open again for meals and cricket season is well underway.

07.01.2022 On Remembrance Day, we recognise and commemorate the service and sacrifice of more than 102,000 Australian men and women who have given their lives in war, conflict and peacekeeping operations since 1901. This morning, at 11:00am, millions of Australians paused to remember all of our fallen and to acknowledge all those who have served our nation in uniform and continue to serve in Australia’s Defence Forces. Lest We Forget.... #LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem #RemembranceDay

07.01.2022 Unfortunately, too many aviation workers in Fraser are struggling to support their families because the Morrison Government excluded them from JobKeeper and because Qantas is planning to cut thousands of local jobs and send them overseas. Labor stands with these workers and their families - they deserve a comprehensive plan from this Government to safeguard the future of Australian aviation. #SaveQantasJobs #SaveAviation ... 05.01.2022 This Government uses population growth to hide its extremely poor record of economic management. Not enough jobs have been created, leading to record high levels of underemployment even before COVID - especially in areas like Fraser. Even though household incomes haven’t risen since 2013, Scott Morrison and Josh Frydenberg often sound triumphalist about their economic policies.... But the truth is, their government has always failed to improve the living standards of everyday Australians.

02.01.2022 Wonderful to have a Christmas catch up with some of the Caroline Chisholm Society’s amazing volunteers and to thank the team for everything they’ve done to support our community this year. During the peak of the pandemic, these volunteers supported hundreds of families across Fraser and Melbourne’s west with home care visits and support packages, including early childhood education resources which were so valuable during COVID lockdown.
