25.01.2022 Australian Podiatry Association Virtual Conference from home today, and tomorrow. Currently listening to Professor David Armstrong talk about the diabetic foot in remission.

24.01.2022 Who is getting cold feet with this rainy, chilly weather? We are receiving some great slippers for sale in the clinic next week. They have orthotic support, are machine washable, and best of all they won’t break the bank at only $59.95 #podiatry #orthoticslippers #cozyfeet #machinewashable #archline #dontsufferwithuggbootfoot

24.01.2022 This weekend was supposed to be our Podiatry State Conference at The Fairmont Resort Leura. Of course it was cancelled due to Covid. So, Wayne and I get a kid free weekend away instead.

24.01.2022 We have been following the NSW Health public health services guidelines in regards to patient contact and PPE use. They have recently moved to Green Alert, which states most staff do not need to wear a surgical mask within 1.5m of a patient. If you are more comfortable with us wearing masks for your appointment we are more than happy to do so. Similarly, anyone who shows even mild respiratory symptoms (which may be usual for that patient) will be asked to wear a mask provided by us. We also reiterate NSW Health’s guidelines to get tested for even the most mild symptoms, and we will happily reschedule appointments for those with symptoms or waiting for results.

23.01.2022 Masks will be mandatory in most indoor settings from tomorrow (3rd Jan 2020). Please remember to bring your reusable or disposable mask with you to your podiatry appointment. We also still have these high filtration reusable masks for sale, now for the reduced price of $8

22.01.2022 As of Monday 21st December (our next clinical day) we will return to amber alert status as per NSW Health public health guidelines. Staff will be wearing masks for all patient contact, and temperatures will be taken upon entry to the clinic. Staff will test their own temperature and blood oxygen levels before commencing their shift. Our surface sanitation will remain at the highest level, as we have never reduced our cleaning protocol. Please be sure to fill out your Covid questionnaire in your confirmation email, and call to reschedule if you are feeling unwell.

21.01.2022 There’s no time like family time. You won’t see me in the clinic this week, but Michael, Tiff, Gurjit and Rebecca will look after you well. See you all next week!!

21.01.2022 And we have a roadmap for our way out of the Covid19 restrictions!! Danielle Arthur Podiatry policies and procedures remain largely unchanged, and we will still primarily only have one treating podiatrist per day in the clinic at least for this month. Hopefully soon it is safe for our staff and patients to return to our regular clinical hours. We’ll keep you updated with any changes as soon as they are implemented. Thanks Scott Morrison (ScoMo) and Dr Brendan Murphy for your leadership and reliance on science in this crazy and unpredictable time. #podiatry #covid19 #essentialservice #roadmap

21.01.2022 We take our Covid19 measures seriously. Please follow the advice below if it is relevant to your recent activities. Please also answer our questionnaire sent with your confirmation email. Masks will be a fixture on all Danielle Arthur Podiatry staff from tomorrow, in the interest of an even safer environment for patients and staff.

14.01.2022 We are returning to a more normal form of practice on Monday 1st June 2020. Online bookings are once again enabled on our website, and the alternate Saturday appointments will be available. All staff are taking every precaution with the return to normal clinic, including temperature and pulse-O2 checks before every shift, and maintaining physical distancing. Our hygiene standards remain at what they have been through the initial stages of the Covid19 pandemic. 11.01.2022 Many patients are asking a lot of questions about the new vaccines. Here’s some great info on the Pfizer mRNA vaccine that’s been ‘translated’ for us non biochemists out there. I think this vaccine will be one of the best things about 2021. ‘In conclusion: While the concepts of the mRNA vaccine may seem new, these products have been in development for about 30 years. Development has been punctuated by several breakthroughs that hastened drug design. The most important take-home message is that this is not magic, not anything wacky and experimental the vaccines are the outcome of three decades of hard work, creative experimentation, and a substantial investment’

11.01.2022 Thankfully, it’s nearly the end of 2020. This year we’ve certainly learned to roll with the never ending punches. We are in clinic all days except public holidays, and we wish all of our clients and followers a happy and healthy (and vaccinated ) 2021Thankfully, it’s nearly the end of 2020. 11.01.2022 How was your Halloween? I ended up in an unintended ’drowned rat’ costume trying to save Mum’s car from hail damage (didn’t work ). Now it’s time to relax with a cuppa and some beautiful biscuits from my lovely friend at Sugared Soul Cookies. https://www.facebook.com/Sugared-Soul-Cookies-100284368508785/ Happy Halloween!!

10.01.2022 People always ask me why I hike. You can choose the duration and how how challenging the exercise is. You can start small with local hikes and work your way up to day trips to see beautiful sites. And nature is so good for the soul. Hiking is my happy place (even when it’s freezing!!) 09.01.2022 Why do kids always grow out of their runners at the end of 4th term?! The kids are off to sports day at school today in their brand new ASICS shoes. At least they’ll have great shoes for the school holidays. #healthyfeet #happyfeet #greatshoes #asics #newshoes #theywillbedirtyinnotime

08.01.2022 We are very happy to have been given the opportunity to support the Revesby Rhinos!!

07.01.2022 We’ve had a few people in the clinic lately tending to take some fake news seriously. It’s super easy to do a 30 second fact check on google, and get the correct information from a reputable source. #covid19 #bewarefakenews #conspiracytheoriesabound #covidsafe #covidsafebusiness

07.01.2022 Did someone say sale?!

07.01.2022 My favourite part of The Coastal Track? The Waterrun. Beautiful sandstone steps have been added by the National Parks Service, and the outlook is stunning. Hiking shoes are Explore by Ascent Footwear as usual (and today they got a full dunking in salt water at Marley Beach )

07.01.2022 Wattamolla dam this morning on a magical winter’s day. Winter hiking is my favourite, today was 17 degrees, almost no wind, and plenty of whales playing in the ocean. Ascent Footwear shoes as usual #podiatry #wattamolla #royalnationalpark #hiking

05.01.2022 We are still open, and all podiatrists are available to treat our patients. We have introduced regular patient free gaps into our days to facilitate cleaning and ease the number of people in the waiting room at any time. Online bookings are currently available, or please call 97738555 to arrange your appointment.

05.01.2022 Many patients are asking what we are doing to make the clinic as safe as possible. We are: - Cleaning all surfaces between every patient with the best 'dirty disinfectant' we can buy, which is designed to clean blood spills in hospital likely to be contaminated with HIV or Hepatitis - Adding extra cleaning breaks to every hour of practice - Limiting the number of patients in the waiting room - Limiting podiatrists in the clinic to one podiatrist per day most days, to limit t...he chances of cross contamination between staff - Requesting contactless payments and submitting Medicare claims through an online system - Screening patients for cough and fever symptoms before they enter the clinic via phone, email, or text - Encouraging pateints to cancel their appointments if they have any concerns about going into the community or have to take public transport - Staff have all had their FluVax for 2020 - Staff have downloaded the COVIDSafe app for early warnings and quarantine if we have unknowingly been in contact with a Covid19 case See more

05.01.2022 National Amputee Awareness Week, 4 11 October 2020, is a chance to ‘Shine a Light’ on the number of people in Australia with limb loss and remind all amputees... that they are not alone. This is a week dedicated to celebrating Australians living with limb loss, raising awareness of this lifelong disability, reducing the stigma that amputees can face, and sharing limb loss prevention information. There is one amputation performed every hour in Australia, which equates to 24 people per day and almost 8,500 people per year, due to diabetes, cancer, vascular disease, infection and traumatic accidents. The limb loss community in Australia, made up of adults and children, is growing every year. This year many buildings and landmarks across Australia are being lit up in green to shine a light on amputation and limb loss in this country. Head out to one of the locations listed here https://www.limbs4life.org.au//shining-a-light-on-australi Limbs 4 Life Australia #ShineALightOnAmputees
