25.01.2022 New Surya Namaskar starting tomorrow Monday 16th Nov

21.01.2022 Desikachar says that yoga is like a rope. It gives you something to hold on to, to steady yourself. Something to help you find your way back to yourself. All we have to do is show up, do our best, suspend the usual criticisms and judgements, let go of the expectations we put in ourself, no attachments. Then as the practice deepens and refines we start to see more clearly. We start to see what it is that we need to cultivate that will help us to come back to ourself, who we ...really are. The true authentic self awaits you. Join me for the journey Saturday 8.30am Blessings Dani

21.01.2022 The reminder that regardless of what each moment looks like, whether we feel good or bad, light or heavy, if it feels positive or negative, beautiful or ugly that we can suspend our opinions and judgements and conclusions. That we can simply bear witness, making a space, a sweet empty void to sit in and feel in to, acknowledging, taking responsibility for what is ours. The wisdom arises, we make wiser choices on how to respond. We can choose to use that experience to chang...e the narrative. To flip that script, pratipaksha bhavana, cultivating positive thought every time a negative thought enters the mind. That ability to accept the moment just as it and potentially change it allows us to navigate all of the ups and the downs, highs and lows, twists and turns of our human existence. Watching your thoughts from a distance, feeling into what arises in the moment, dropping the judgement, the righteousness and the attachment, its a practice. To step away and bear witness how does it work for you?

20.01.2022 B A L A N C E through A C C E P T A N C E How do we best support ourselves to remain balanced and moving ahead with our best foot forward? ... Through acceptance. Balance is the stability that we find at the center of acceptance. The great yogis of the past had a profound understanding of this and used it to maintain mastery over their lives. Strengthening your sense of balance and stability integrates mindfulness. Mindfulness helps us to practice self-acceptance. Self acceptance builds courage. Courage keeps us moving forwards. A new series kicks off tomorrow Saturday @8.30am ‘Balancing the Elements’ using the element of earth to ground us down as we take this journey towards developing courage through acceptance. Also running Monday 9.30am and Wednesday 6.30pm Book via link in bio $55 for all 5 classes $12 casual Love Dani

19.01.2022 A big shout out to the 7 incredibly dedicated yogis that have just completed their 108th day of Surya namaskar practice. 108 is a special number in yoga representing spiritual completion. We started this humble journey on a cold wintry morning, 6.30am on June 1st as a 21 day challenge. Who would of thought we would just keep on keeping on. ... Yoga sutra 1.13 Tatra sthitau yatno bhyasah Consciously choosing, applying the effort and doing the practice to bring you into a stable and tranquil state again and again. Keep on growing yogis

18.01.2022 Some days we just have to create our own sunshine. As practicing yogis we are told that we can’t rely on other people to provide it for us. That we have to learn to become our own source of love and light. That no one else can make the level of effort required but you. When we make that effort for connection with ourself whether it’s through reflection or yoga asana, pranayama, chant, we can manifest or change our thoughts and feelings and direct them towards this light. W...e do this in our now moment as we keep exhaling clearing space, letting go negative thought and feeling and inhaling shifting towards the light and holding it inwardly. Holding that knowingness, allowing the light and the love of that knowingness to fill you up and radiate out of you. A group of us have been doing just that on a daily basis. Coming together each morning 6.30-7am via zoom to clear the space and fill it up with love and light through the practice of Surya namaskar. The next 21 day cycle begins again on Monday 5th October. Feel free to join us and to grab yourself some light. Book through website www.danipritchardyoga.com.au

17.01.2022 As practicing yogis we are told that we are responsible for creating our own sunshine. That we should not rely on other people to provide it for us. That we have to learn to become our own source of light. Clearing space again and again, becoming more and more present to "I am". Letting go, shedding and shifting the old energy to make room for holding the light in a state of knowingness. Allowing that knowingness, that recognition of the light within you, to shine beyond th...e boundary of your skin. A group of us have been coming together each morning Mon to Fri between 6.30-7am on zoom. (Recording given for weekends) We breathe our way through 6 rounds of Surya Namaskar, the ultimate source of light, moving to clear the space so we can fill it up with that knowingness, holding the light within. The next 21 day cycle is just about to begin this Monday 5th October. Feeling those vibes? Keen to grab yourself some light? Four versions to choose from so you can find your own unique starting point and apply modification or extension Bookings are open via the website www.danipritchardyoga.com.au

12.01.2022 The Surya Sessions. Post practice sky this morning. Each sunrise a new beginning. You forget about the yesterday’s because in that moment it’s just you, the sun and the universe. May it bring you peace and fill your heart and soul with possibility

11.01.2022 Tides change, things don’t always go to plan and we can be swept in many different directions. We can’t stop the waves from coming but what we can do is to learn to move with them. Learn to flow like water through the currents. The wisdom from the ancients help us to understand that change is a natural part of life and that learning to accept that change is yoga in action. ... It shows us a path of letting go so that we can flow with each moment in our life exactly as it is. Nature’s tendencies, the three energies of Rajas, Tamas and Satvas help us to identify our process around change. If we approach change with Rajas we often experience an impatience and try and forcefully push through it with our sights set only on the other side of it and we miss being present to the moment. If we approach it with Tamas, we try to avoid it, we push it away, ignore or resist it and retreat to the past for comfort. Satvas is when we accept the change as apart of our life and we are able to remove the fear and move forwards with trust and faith in ourselves and the now. Where are you operating from? What’s your tendency?

09.01.2022 In today’s 1 hour of lockdown exercise we met ocean and creek, movement and stillness, respect for earth and reverence for sun, deep inhales and long exhales. Melbourne you’ve got this !

09.01.2022 What is the power that keeps bringing you back to the mat time and time again? Is it the union and the interconnectedness that you feel after a practice. That breathing deeply into the very core of your being? Is it the slowing down of the fluctuations in the mind? The ripples of your thoughts and feelings and emotions quietening down as you exhale clear space over and over again. ... When the mind is able to calm, we are able to look more deeply within. This is where we are able to learn of who we really are beneath everything. Is it the a taste of living a mindful life. The mind, body and spirit all focused on whatever is going on in the moment. When this happens we can forgive ourselves because the past is already over. We can hold faith in the future because we're not struggling with the present moment. The power for me lies in that limitless potential to keep coming back to a better place within myself. Eventually it becomes a lifestyle that enables you to return to a blissful state of well being again and again.

08.01.2022 November's News Soft re-opening of the studio Monday 9th November

08.01.2022 Come with me on a journey through the five winds known as the prana vayus. Linking with the radiant energy that moves and flows through each and every one of us we start with apana vayu. Apana is the downward flow, situated from navel down into the pelvic floor, it plugs us into earth and allows us a release. To release, resolve, make peace with and to surrender those emotional experiences that leave their footprint. ... In order for us to have a deeper experience of this vayu we have to be prepared to let it go. When we can let go, we grow. The act of completely embodying the release upon exhalation grounds us, offers us a practice in humility and sacrifice. To let go into the exhalation and experience that rich filled emptiness afterwards is the most humbling experience one can do for themselves Wednesday 6.30pm Saturday 8.30am

06.01.2022 Krishnamurti said In oneself lies the world. And if you know how to look and learn, the door is there and the key is in your hand. How do we look? Turning the mind inward, long exhale allows for a certain amount of letting go. Enough to start making space for ourselves on the inside. Then we can focus on the inward movement of breath, inviting the life force within our inner world. Drawing prana inwards with long, slow, smooth inhale, stretching the breath out, we lock it... in and take it to the very edges of the body. Hold As yogis we want to hold our prana on the inside so that we can look about and learn about ourself. So that we can be the master of our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energy. This is one of the most important things that we can do for ourselves in these current circumstances. Inhale, allow breath full of golden energy to lightly flow down from the nostrils, down through throat, chest, heart, lungs, belly. Exhale, rather than releasing breath away from you, visualise the prana remaining within, the nourishment absorbed by the body, keeping your attention on the inside. The key to your inner world, pause and soak up the after effects. The last Prana Vayu class is on tonight 6.30pm. Book online through link in bio Bless Dani #danipritchardyoga

06.01.2022 New Series begins this week. Come, join with.

06.01.2022 Tapas svadhyaya isvara pranidanah kriya yogah" These are very challenging and uneasy times that we find ourselves in and the only words that I can find at the moment are, please be kind to yourselves. Yoga Sutra 2.1 is all about how to live our yoga in difficult times. It is about taking action to show up to yourself consistently whether you want to or not. This is 'tapas', continuing to support yourself through practice regardless of what's going on around you. ... This is how we can be truly there for our self. Through tapas, effort, we root down for minimum of 10 minutes a day and make that inward journey. Whether its through asana, reflection, meditation or a simple breathing practice we commit. We open to what arises, 'svadyaya' and awareness of our inner dialogue, the contents of our mind. Next we surrender all of the stories and all of our limiting beliefs. We stop judging, identifying and linking with them. Pacification starts to occur as we let go the fear and uncertainty with long exhale. Linking with the slow incoming breath we fill the heart and the spaces around the heart with humility and grace. Lifted and inspired we reach up to that higher perspective 'Isvarapranidhana' and acknowledge that ever changing nature of this world. Now, 'atha' is the time to apply your yoga. Do the practice, make that regular connection to restore the peace and learn new ways of doing and being to ground yourself and expand your awareness. Our practice guides us towards that ultimate goal,'santosha' a state of contented presence regardless of what happens next. You can join me for ongoing Zoom classes Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat. Link to booking system in bio. Go lightly yogis, stay close to yourself. Love Dani

04.01.2022 One of the many lotus flowers blooming in my pond this morning. Not only beautiful but steeped in rich symbolism. They sit at the bottom of the pond in the murkiness of the mud. This teaches us humility. The flower slowly grows through the layers of the muddy water, breaking through to the surface completely perfect and unstained. It teaches us determination. The lotus seeds contain perfectly formed leaves, the potential of what they will become when they bloom. The stem of ...the lotus is delicate yet pliable and therefore it does not break. Teaching us flexibility. The lotus symbolizes the challenges and difficulties we have to face or have faced in the past in order for us to grow. Growing through our experiences, through our difficulties, transcending our many lessons and challenges. It teaches us resilience. During the night the lotus closes down, sitting under the water, cleansing and replenishing itself, emerging again with a sense of renewal, the light of a new dawn. It teaches us about self care. With each petal that unfolds, we too unfold, rising from our muddy waters. It teaches us the value of clarity and clear seeing. The more murky the water the more beautiful the bloom. It teaches us all about self acceptance

02.01.2022 Pause in those moments when the mind runs away from you. Give yourself permission to step back from everything that is making you feel anxious. Exhale: release as much air as your lungs will allow. Pause: Reacquaint yourself with who you are.... Inhale : as much air as your lungs will allow. Pause: Reacquaint yourself with who you are. Then remind yourself that you are strong enough, wise enough and capable enough to do what needs to be done.
