This is for everyone who: - recognize they feel better when they train, ... - feel good within themselves after a good hitout, - wants to be challenged in many ways - wants to learn how to go to next level - wants to improve self-esteem, confidence and ready to take on what ever happens You don't have to be 'elite' but loves a good hard safe session. 21.01.2022 It is not surprising the reports from many health authorities with regards to the concern about a new obesity-pandemic - what did you expect when you shut down all the facilities. Add in economical frustration, insecurity, doubt and uncertain job market and we are ripe for a human melt down. It is also a sign of a very fragile society without any resilient built into it.... The future, optimistic as I try to be, does not look promising for the traditional brick and mortar business - and all unwarranted by the way. Several studies have shown gyms are not the problem area in terms of spreads. The real interesting part lies in the home gym setup. With #powerplayfitness we have seen a tremendous commitment from our home gym people, their fitness has taken new levels and although we all prefer to be together, there is something about this 'new setup' I am super keen to explore. We have to accept, adapt, and make it happen. We enjoy the new features, new gadgets and it makes it so more enjoyable and engaging.

19.01.2022 We did some sweetspot training yesterday - initially it feels quite comfortable but, it sneaks up on you. We hit this spot to get them used to that uncomfortable feeling and everyone looked super calm and composed - which is the other aim but people were moving for sure! Well done PowerPLAYers!

16.01.2022 7.10 on Triple M this morning on Roo and Ditts Share with gym friends. My point is to speak up for our industry. This knee-jerk reaction is not on.

16.01.2022 I just read this and that is in essence one way of looking at the current situation. We can either crumble and see despair or we can stand up to the challenge. I choose the latter, so does my fellow PowerPLAYers Joseph Schumpeter, a renowned economist from the 1940’s, said Creative Destruction is the essential fact about capitalism. In other words, capitalism’s existence is dependent upon the destruction of existing value propositions and the emergence of new and more relevant ones. Schumpeter also proclaimed, Situations emerge in the process of creative destruction in which many firms may have to perish that nevertheless would be able to live on vigorously and usefully if they could weather a particular storm.



14.01.2022 As a coach you know it has been a good session when you have fun running it, when you look around and you see determination, resilience, and no one letting us know what 90+% feels like - but providing us what they have been taught - "Stone-Faces". Just like in real life, you can find a way through the noise, the stress of the ergo and when you think you can't keep moving, you find a way. We teach more than movement, we teach how to build your resilience, confidence, ability ...to handle the environmental stress and I would like to think we are having a thrill doing it! So proud.

13.01.2022 It has been a crazy few months, learning about Zoom, Motosumo, building website, Social media, and work around the conditions we are given. I am so proud of the incredibly strong community of hard workers who have supported our venture with Powerplay Fitness. As one of them recently asked - does this mean it is no longer an experimental thing? Correct, this is growing into 'a thing' that provides humans like myself a place where we can go and work hard, feel pooped some d...ays but stronger, feel breathlessness and joy and build on our resilience - all safely without having to worry about my shoulders or knees or ... Just because I am reaching 46 doesn't mean I don't want to push myself but in this way, I have no fear of injuring myself. Thanks Players, let's HIIT Play again tomorrow am!

12.01.2022 What is with the rise in Lower Back issues.... I will tell you what I think it is. COVID! Yeah, you got the Covid back. Not the virus, not any thing you can get tested for either and a scan will reveal that you are human and you have used your back for a while! Uncertainty, doubt, anxiety, fear will leave us all tense - add in staying at home, sitting down with poor posture, not being around others and we have a new 'Back-demic'. hile! Uncertainty, doubt, anxious, fear will l...eave us all tense - add in staying at home, sitting down with poor posture, not being around others and we have a new 'Back-demic'. Shoulders in ears, Quasimodo-look-a-like posture and worrying about things we can't control... Speaking to Adelaide Advanced Physiotherapy they are busy with treating these back issues and getting people back moving. Is there a vaccine for this? There certainly is; - Good strong TALL posture - Move, understand movement and move to feel great - Be with others when you can - and don't listen to the media! Another 2 weeks to come and try PowerPLAY - take control of your mental and physical health!

11.01.2022 Doing a PowerPLAY class tonight and talking to some of the people at home, following our system through a virtual delivery. I am so proud of what they do, it is not easy to sit in your shed or living room and turn the TV on to watch me yell at them. It would be a lot easier to just don't worry, bother, let one slip... But we have an awesome online community now, they try their damn hardest and most importantly - they turn up.... What we are pursuing is not A number, but MANY feelings. Satisfaction. Achievement Pride just to mention a few. You finish a PowerPLAY session - you need to acknowledge it - cause it ain't easy!

10.01.2022 We have all been suffering for the few months, we have all felt this impact one way or the other, we have struggled to comprehend what was going on or where to next... We changed our delivery the day after shut down, because you all wanted to continue, to keep exercising and have some level of connection with each other. This is why we have what we have today. We have also built a incredible strong community where we all respect and praise the work we do, we have suffered... many hours on the ergo, alone, remote but religiously tuning in and doing what we asked you to do. Today you had to use those skills of suffering in the 15/15 sprints. And you did! It makes me smile, laugh, so proud of what this little but not insignificant group has accomplished. Thank you! It means a lot more than I thought it would

06.01.2022 @power_playfitness CAN be very hard aerobically, it CAN be tough, it WILL always be challenging you to either find more power, engage more muscle strength, or even hold back. We ask, we look, we listen - we make you the focus point because we care. So proud when we then put the hammer down and so many go beyond what they thought was possible.... 7 day come and try. From home or at location if you want to feel in charge of your health. Well done to you all and looks like @lambrook_wines still has more left

04.01.2022 Super effort by the morning team, both online and in class. They got pushed, challenged, dealt with the stress in the most composed manner, or maybe I didn't challenge them enough... hmmm We built Resilience. Stamina. Confidence. Thank you for a good push.

02.01.2022 I am a Resilience Coach! Many of us know the benefit of training on your mental health but very few can draw the line between physical training and mental training. Many trainers take it for given that one comes with the other - but look at how many top athletes struggle with low self-worth, confidence is not booming. The brain is the all-inclusive decider - it will dictate everything we do. Nothing is randomly happening in our body - it is all directed from the left and righ...t hemispheres. To build resilience through training requires a finer art of understanding the correlation between brain and body, and for that, I rely on reading left/right brain hemisphere activity through movement. Sooo, it is not random that all your injuries are always on left side or right side. It is not random you are feeling a bit down and depressed, it can be a brain hemisphere issue. It is not random you walk around feeling tense, stressed all the time, again, very likely a left to right issue. A severe brain hemorrhage has left her with right arm stock in what I called the Napoleon position! Always curled up around the chest but after a few days, we got it going and although stochastic - it was moving for the first time in 9 years! Brain balance! It is all in there!

01.01.2022 I was lucky to get a chance to express my own and colleagues frustration about how we - fitness professionals - are being judged as part of the problem. WE ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION. I invite any decision maker, @Stevenmarshall #stevenmarshall #SAHealth to have a chat about what it is we actually do and our role in society. This won't go away, it will be part of our world but we have to build resilience into people's mind and body, to combat the fear, uncertainty and doubt t...hat is lurking out there. We do it with exercise, this is how we teach you to handle stress. We teach you to connect to yourself and feel your body/brain communicating. Resilience also means emotional balance and being calm and collected in stressful situations ... like some of these decision makers would have experienced.
