25.01.2022 We completed a nice data and electrical job at Nubeena today. We had worked in this room previously and installed a new data cabinet where there wasnt one originally installed. We installed data points and power points around 3 of the 4 walls in the room, along with installation of skirting duct etc. the original job came up very neat and tidy. We were asked to come back to install skirting duct along the 4th wall and install another 12 double cat 6 data outlets and relocate some power points along with adding 7 additional power points within this room and an adjoining office. Thanks Dave and Kyle from Aplin Electrical for another job we teamed up on and done some top quality work. These shots are of our original job just before we started the extra bits.
25.01.2022 So I havent had anything really good to post up lately, Ive been madly installing things around a few different places, but nothing worth taking pictures of. I can always use a bit more work though and if anyone I work for/have worked for in the past has anything positive to say about my work it would be appreciated, likewise if as many people as possible can like and share my business page it always helps get things moving along. Ill put up a few pictures of past work to keep things moving along as well once I get a chance.
24.01.2022 Another small custom job for a good customer. I made up a nice Tas oak shelf to hold some video conferencing equipment. Full install on Tuesday including hdmi, USB ports, camera and 65inch screen.
23.01.2022 Another little maintenance job done, replaced this top part of a display in a store in Hobart, bring on the jobs, well look at nearly anything
23.01.2022 My shelf in use now, installed today along with the TV, and all required HDMI and USB ports and cabling to make the video conferencing system work. Camera installed above the screen as well. My customer was very happy. Thanks Pete for your help.
23.01.2022 I havent updated here for a while. Heres a few pics of a data cabinet we installed recently. Its a space saving low profile one so everything large mounts vertically rather than horizontally. We installed a 15 amp captive dedicated circuit, 6mm earth and power rail. Also a 12 core single mode fibre back to the main data rack and some cat 6 wall outlets and cat6A WiFi outlets. A happy customer again.
23.01.2022 And completed, also a picture of how we label our data and power outlets. Sadly quite a few installers dont do this part properly.
21.01.2022 My previously made fibre splicing box installed and finished.
20.01.2022 Another custom made solution for a customer. This is a fibre optic splicing enclosure Ive made up to go inside the mast of the new Huon Aqua feed barge.
20.01.2022 This is the view from a recently completed job, nice day for it
20.01.2022 I have recently been restoring some outdoor furniture for a large customer of mine, Ive been doing their data cabling for many years now and theyve taken up my maintenance services alongside that. These tables and seats have been let go for way too long and are a pretty big task to make safe and repair. Its taking longer than I thought but the outcome is good. As my old Dad once told me if youre only going to do half a job of it, no point doing it at all it was good advice and something I stick by no matter what Im doing. Heres a before and after of the first one I completed and delivered back.
20.01.2022 A recent tv screen installation. Another long term happy customer. This came up very neat.
19.01.2022 Heres the front of the same cabinet. This was before everything was installed and finished off. Theres a fair bit going on in there.
19.01.2022 Thinking outside the box. I have an elderly customer at a retirement village (I cabled all 64 units there) who had the NBN connected last week. The NBN man couldnt work out how to get 3 phones and a computer working on the small cat 6 network, so I made this up to split one phone line across 3 data outlets (all in different rooms). 1 RJ12 telephone connector into 3 cat 6 RJ45 connectors.
19.01.2022 Pretty good view from my workplace today, doesn’t get much better than this
16.01.2022 Ok so its been a while since I have posted, and there are some changes in the works. I have been in communications cabling for the last 20 years, 7 1/2 years of that, running my own small business solo, ... but more recently with the added support of my beautiful wife. During that time I have always gone above and beyond for my customers, helping their grand plans come to life by designing and installing data cabling, small building maintenance, fixing any of their existing problems, finding solutions or creating custom made products for their needs. I have always been exceptionally good at anything to do with fixing things, building things, improving things, basically anything I can create or fix with my hands, and with my high standards of quality and being a perfectionist (My wife calls this OCD) our customers are ALWAYS happy with the job, so we are taking another step in the right direction and adding property maintenance to our existing business activities. We really enjoy that kind of work, so keep an eye out, therell be some small changes and most likely a business name change as well. So if anyone needs any domestic or commercial maintenance work done, WE ARE YOUR TEAM! Theres not much we cant turn our hand to, so give us a go! We are offering anything from painting or patching a wall, pre-sale repairs and fix ups, changing a light bulb, fitting a new door, changing a lock, mowing the lawn or finding solutions to any of your property maintenance needs. My lovely wife is a qualified landscape designer, horticulturalist, and all round legend of permaculture and herbalism, so she can help you create the garden of your dreams or revamp your existing one. (She is also a little bit OCD herself!) So please share this around, it should all be set up soon and ready to go, servicing all Southern Tassie areas, give us a shout if you need anything. 15.01.2022 Ha ha been a while since I’ve had to work on one of these old beasties. Customer had tripped over a cable and ripped it all apart, unfortunately they work from home and rely on the internet. We got there and fixed it within an hour and a half of the call. Can’t beat that service
15.01.2022 As part of our maintenance side of the business we were hoping to be able to do some pre sale tidy ups, whether thats in the yard or in and around the house. We had the opportunity over the last little while to do our first one. We had a blank canvas and were allowed to have some artistic license on this one to show potential buyers what might be possible. We are very proud of what we have achieved and the photos dont do it full justice, we also done a lot of things that arent shown in the pictures. Melissa was the brains behind this one, I was the muscle and made all the wood stay together . We are very keen to do some more of this kind of work, please keep us in mind if you need anything done, large or small.
15.01.2022 Another job finished this week. Panduit low profile cabinet installed with a 15 amp captive dedicated circuit, all earthed, networked 2 classroom areas and an office area with Cat 6 wall outlets and Cat 6A WiFi outlets, also ran Cat 6 ties to the NBN router in an adjoining tenancy, after these photos we moved the data switch and router in and made it all work. Another happy customer.
14.01.2022 We did a little Job recently for the best motorcycle workshop in the state, Red is also a genius for contacting us to do the work . The timber holding the awning together on the front of the building had rotted away, some of the panels had started coming loose and one or 2 had blown off. We removed all the rest of the roofing panels, removed the rotted timber and found the original steel brackets were coming loose too. Some dyna bolts and welding later, I replaced all the timbers with larger treated pine, re fitted the original panels and finally put the sign back up. Again although this made the front of the building look neater, it was more about safety than looks. Big shout out to Reds Motorcycle Repairs, thanks for giving us a go at doing the work .
12.01.2022 I havent updated here for a while. Heres 15 x 12 core single mode fibre cables in a data cabinet we installed. All spliced with LC connectors.
12.01.2022 A recent job completed, we installed 2 new double Cat 6A data points for some wireless access points, this is some of my almost invisible conduit work .
11.01.2022 Pretty good view from my workplace today, doesnt get much better than this
09.01.2022 Another TV screen install for the same customer, another contractor came in to do this as I couldnt get there soon enough. They mounted the pole and couldnt work the rest out a mess was made but we managed to tidy it all up.
09.01.2022 Some of this weeks efforts involved installing about 100 metres of OM4 fibre between 2 cabinets on different floors. I decided to tackle running this one on my own, so its been a fair old mission in the building Ive been in. This is one end spliced with LC OM4 connectors. Not my neatest work my splicer decided to give me some grief so ended up running short on time.
09.01.2022 A few progress pics
08.01.2022 We also recently completed repairs on this ceiling for a customer. Parts of it had fallen in and the room was locked out deemed unsafe. Our job was to repair and make it safe, painting wasnt required in this case. We cut and replaced sections of ceiling with 12mm ply, then covered all joins in the ceiling with timber strips to neaten and strengthen it all.

06.01.2022 Todays office, installing some cat6a cables for WiFi. Been in worse roof spaces thats for sure.

04.01.2022 We are getting our maintenance side of the business off the ground, pretty slow start but positive. This was the first official job, I replaced this section of water damaged ceiling with a new piece, patched and painted. Also replaced the front cover of the hot water cylinder. I made this easily removable for maintenance.
04.01.2022 Looks good with a coat of varnish on it, a couple coats to go and its finished.
03.01.2022 This is the other end of my fibre optic install completed last week. My splicer set up and one end of my test gear. Test results dont come any better than this a happy customer.

03.01.2022 Cleaning gutters in Franklin yesterday, installing fibre optic cable between 2 office buildings in Cambridge today, we will do anything anywhere we are the only Warrens to call for all data, communications and maintenance needs!!
03.01.2022 Todays office, nice view from some of it
03.01.2022 We completed a nice job for a good customer last week. It was a complete start to finish installation of 104 Cat 6 data outlets (26 x 4 gang outlets) spread throughout 3 areas of an electronics laboratory. We designed, supplied and installed everything from the data cabinet right through to the data outlets and labels. Thanks to my beautiful wife Melissa Warren who has come on board to assist where required, and also Pete Grueber whos always a big help. We had a happy customer at the end and a job we could be proud of, I was particularly happy with our stainless steel bench outlets.
03.01.2022 We have also been installing a heap of single mode fibre at a new Huon Aqua site near Port Huon. We have been working on this one for a while now, its still going to be a while before its finished. By the time we are done we will have installed around 4 km of fibre right around the site to about 20 different locations. We will also end up installing a fair amount of Cat 6 cable for WIFI and office areas around the site. Thanks again Allan Warren for all of your help on this one. These pictures just show about half the fibre runs heading from conduits in the slab up the wall into the new main data cabinet above, these took a bit of tidying up, still quite a few more to install yet.
02.01.2022 My lovely assistant assisting me with installing a new data cabinet and fibre cable into a new office area. This is completing a fibre installation we started quite a while back, this part was waiting on buildings to be finished. We spliced 6 cores with LC connectors both ends on this one. Thanks Melissa Warren for your help.
01.01.2022 We have been doing heaps of fibre optic network installs lately. We installed fibre around the Houstons farm site at Forcett a couple of weeks back, 500m of fibre to 3 different buildings from a central building. We turned the Hilux into a mobile splicing unit, the tailgate makes a great work surface when nothing else is around . I have my own fusion splicer and test gear, thanks for your help on this one Allan warren.
01.01.2022 We are getting our maintenance side of the business cranking. We replaced a water damaged ceiling in Glenorchy, repaired the hot water cylinder cover on the same job, made a safety cover for some electrical cables under a meter box on a pole, cleaned some gutters in Franklin, Melissa is doing some landscape consulting and design in south hobart as well. ... We will have a crack at nearly anything, mowing, weeding, garden maintenance, general property repairs/maintenance, painting, custom made things etc. all of this on top of our normal communications business, its been good to mix it up a bit. Please let us know if we can help with anything you need done. Please share this around, we are a local small business that supports other local small businesses and can have a look at any jobs, no matter how small or large. See more
01.01.2022 So we did this. All ready to go and already picking up work. So far so good
