24.01.2022 Today was a very productive day with Amara - we were able to reduce the amount of extension in the swing at the wrong point of the sequence. Managed to get the Apex of her flight higher and clip a few nice little draw shots also. Cant go more up than you can go up.

23.01.2022 I can’t stress enough the importance of knowing your carry distances and even more so, where could you add or subtract a club in the bag to make hitting certain numbers easier. Below is a quick bag test I did for myself, this took me 40mins, I was able to use my chosen ball Titleist ProV1x . What I can see is:... Add a Gap Wedge back to the bag. Look at my 7i loft - should be 36* possibly has moved with use over the last 2months Check swing speed on shorter irons- could also be why 8-7i were gapped so big. Chatting with Mum Nicole, she said one of the greatest things- another coach had seen Billie swing and remarked she had such a natural looking swing- she looked uncoached- the swing was free flowing and didnt seem rigid or structured. This made me smile, as her coach of only a short time, Im not trying to undo the amazing work Mum and Dad have done with her, she has a natural flow to her movements. 20.01.2022 What a cracking day out on course. Some really solid golf played- but this week, Producing some awesome golf in the middle of the round- Maddie took out the win. She set herself up with a 5pt lead with the last two holes to play and held on to beat Matt by 4pts. 39pts got the win and continued the tradition of having to play better than your handicap to take Pumba Home!

18.01.2022 Lesson 1 with Mike last night. Forward Press before takeaway- this causes too many variables- how much press? Whats the loft when you press? Is the face opening? Closing? Then the big question- how will you react to this press in the swing to put the club back to a managble/neutral impact! Left Shoulder Down in the backswing - wanting you reduce the feeling of a lateral shoulder shift with no downward motion. Left shoulder down a touch in the downswing- pushing th...e bodies pressure into the ground - this is a good thing Left Shoukde UP This is the result of pressure shifting back up from the ground - a solid power source. This initially can be tough to time- the sequence hard to get right- but from 140m carry 7 irons, we got two at 159m and 160m when the sequence was correct- that should be enough to excite/ convince a player to want to make the change. 18.01.2022 Working with Shane this evening- having a bit of soreness in the right knee. We started this block of lessons with working on the trail leg and creating extension in it. This helps relieve some pressure from the knee, it also complimented his transition into the downswing a bit better, was able to gain a little more control over the shot outcome. Now this isn’t going to be an easy journey, any player working on trail leg extension will tell you- it’s tough to work into the sw...ing, it’s tough to know when it should be extended, when it should start. We spoke about swing technique, how her club path has a direct influence on her clubface rate of closure and therefore how that then effects her shot shape and amount of curvature on the ball- she asked some really smart questions, as a coach, its great to work with players who ask questions, this is how we know that they are understanding what we are communicating in the end, a simple thought and notion formed a great key to begin working with! Worked to understand what his Blueprint is to hitting the ball well, and worked hard on reducing lead side upper body shift so early in the downswing- this movement caused blocks and pull hooks. By focusing on starting the downswing with what felt like a hip bump towards target caused the images with the red line! Reduced shoulder shift and an ability to hit a controlled draw shot! Hand path and Clubhead relationship on the takeaway Rolling the hands open on the takeaway- tackled the negative impact it’s having. ... A natural draw swing trying to create a fade as a stock shot- accurately measured the data and saw no benefit to Yevin when trying to fade it- it’s against his natural swing movement and no extra spin- launch is lower and decent angle is lower. Create a stock shot and own it. When he realised his swing is built to draw the ball- we started seeing 2-3yd draw shots hitting the green over and over again. 10.01.2022 This was a cool lesson @danielneucom is an awesome student, lots of intelligent questions and open to doing whatever needs to be done to get better. The lesson started with club path around 5* Left and Angle of attack -2.5* down averages were 5.1 Left and -2.5* We spoke about swing thoughts and tried a few keys to improve path, i didnt want to use a training aid if possible, really wanting to create a feel that was course transferable- however I grabbed a little aid tha...t @firstswinggolf @simmo_jay had started to get built, and he and I had discussed a few modifications too. 04.01.2022 Caught up again with Jaz @golfergirlofficial this week. Like many of us, when life gets busy you cant practice as much as you would like, and for many - myself included, the short game and feel is the first to go. Struggling with a few heavy hits, a couple of skinny strikes and general reduction in confidence we set about fixing that up. Stance width was too wide, meaning the swing could generate too much power too easily, reduction in stance width can limit power when we... try and remain in balance. Jaz was holding a little too far up the grip, this meant she was sliding a touch to create some space, also a slight lift on the odd shot. Both of these lead to left arm working harder than it needs too. Focus was on creating a manageable width in the swing, keeping the hands a similar width from the centre torso throughout the action, this stabilises the strike and impact location. The still you see Jaz perform is to retrain the lead arm, when a player gets over active with the lead arm or yippy try them pitching with one arm only (trail arm) then place the lead arm next to the club and have it move as if part of the swing, then add the hand to the grip. Upper image- 1- Arms starting downswing, causing too much movement of the lead shoulder, getting a head of the ball too often, the hands also moving the over the top causing a slice. 2- Lacking lower body rotation, stalling and almost tilting back on occasion- losing power and Clubface control. 3- Throwing the hands at the shot to try to generate some power. ... Lower Images Start the downswing with a hip bump toward target this lead to the lead shoulder hanging back a touch avoiding getting ahead of the ball Club was able to fall in behind the body a little easier and straightened up the ball flight Lower body rotating easier and better through and creating space.

01.01.2022 Working with Mark on his driving today. This was a great lesson example of consistency - the thing was, the consistent part was what was causing the outcome he wanted to change. So we set about trying to achieve REPEATABLE QUALITY- discussing at home practice habits we implemented this drill- to get used to what the Strike felt like. We were able to halve his club path direction after carrying out this drill. He was better able to associate the feeling when matching up the drill to an actual strike of the ball.

01.01.2022 Working with Dave on his short game yesterday. Taking advantage of the 15th Main Green being open for coaching. Helping establish a stock style of bunker shot, with technique that is easy to repeat and even easier to implement. We then ended the session working on a stock greenside chip, varying the club and flight but keeping a good tempo and width in the swing arc.
