25.01.2022 I have been told in the past that its cruel that we kill cute fluffy little rodents. Its all in the WHY? Rodent's are the cause of house fires, food loss, contamination and wastage across Australia and without control we lose control. Rodent's on the Gold Coast are prolific breeders and keeping it short they can go from 2 rodents to 15,000 in a year if they all survive predators and disease. That's a lot. Winter is the season you hear the pitter patter of little feet in th...e ceiling space (but if you have insulation you may not know they are there at all). Maybe there are nibble marks in the fruit in the fruit bowl in the mornings? We inadvertently feed them too, like bread in the basket, cat and dog food, do you have chickens (they love the grainy chook food). Know your enemy! For those that dont know what Termites look like then its time you knew. (See pics) Look at the first picture and you will see a mud lead running up a brick wall straight into the roof cavity that is full of pine timber to chew. Unfortunately, this was a rental property ...in Currumbin Waters and the owner had no idea. And the tenant thought it was ants and didnt report it to the owner. This ended in a 12 thousand dollar bill to rectify as the back half of the roof needed to be replaced. A $220 inspection could have reduced that to almost nothing. With people skipping between hotels and backpackers etc, it only takes 1 of these bloodsucking mini-monsters to crawl onto their bag and it transfers easily to the next place they stay.
