16.01.2022 If your answer to yesterday's quiz question was the Audi SQ7, you're an absolute freak. I mean that in the nicest possible way.....freak . I personally never would have guessed Speedline made wheels for this car. Instead I would have assumed that they would have been made by a German OEM like BBS or similar. The more you know!... This particular SQ7 was bought from a dealer after sitting on the lot for some time. It had a number of paint defects, not the least of which a huge amount of paint overspray over most of the top surfaces (I determined that it was not in fact due to any repair work on this actual car. Likely a mobile repair on another car in the yard that was conducted near this one and it copped a heap of airborne paint overspray as a result). After some fairly hefty paint decontamination the majority of it was able to be removed, leaving behind some relatively minor defects in the paint, which were corrected out. As for coating, this car received a new coating I've been playing with over the last few months. It's called NXTZEN Pro and I'm extremely impressed with it. Based on my testing it has all the durability and chemical resistance of Opti-Coat, but with significantly more gloss and slickness. More on this to come :) Dan

09.01.2022 Some of you may recognise this particular patient. Now fresh from a full respray from the good folk at Charlie Battisti to erase all the stone chips. Followed by a complete PPF install from Max Wang. I spent a rather indulgent day doing a light correction of the film and then applying Kamikaze Film Surface Coat to add further gloss and slickness to the PPF as well as giving some chemical protection to the film. A few moe things to tick off the list before it's fully complete but for now I reckon it's beer o'clock :)
