25.01.2022 You Are The One Holding The Stone So much of the world's attention is focused on the result of the US election and there is not doubt, it has big ramifications worldwide. The thing is, we place such a great emphasis on these so called world leaders and sometimes we forget our role in the big picture of evolution. The world is always evolving from less sophistication to greater sophistication and to create a better world, takes more than one person. It doesn't happ...en in isolation, but it does require someone to throw the stone into the lake and create the ripple of raising the collective consciousness. If you are reading this, you are the one holding the stone. Research indicates that taking responsibility for your own state of consciousness will have a harmonising effect on the environment. As my ever-inspiring teacher Thom Knoles would say be one of the few who lead the many. This week, Thom emailed his thoughts on elections and leaders, which he wrote before the 2016 election. The points below are still, if not more relevant today. Raise the Average The world is for us as we can be for it. Your own state of consciousness is all you know; to change the world, change your own state of consciousness. You cannot stop a collective from behaving in accordance with its state of consciousness. You, too, behave only in accordance with your own state of consciousness. Your suffering is the result of your inaccurate expectations; it is not the responsibility of another. Nothing new happened that did not exist already; it is a shame to be surprised when a walnut tree produces walnuts. Act accordingly. "Leaders" are the mirror of the average state of collective consciousness; "leaders" are led by, and constrained by, a collective alone (there is no "leader" without enthusiastic followers). Raise the average; be personally exemplary of a higher consciousness state; until, personally, you lift the average, the collective behaves simply predictably. Don't expect "leaders" to lift a collective; that is grass-roots activity, it is your activity. These points are applicable universally. See more

23.01.2022 It Takes A Thorn To Remove A Thorn To remove a thorn that has imbedded into the skin, we need a needle that is as sharp, or sharper than the thorn itself. Recent global events have highlighted just how deep the thorn of racism has been imbedded into societys skin. I am no expert on racism, nor am I claiming to be one. In the words of my friend @sigridtasies, I too am learning how to not allow racism, blinded by my white privilege. ... What I can claim however, after years of studying Vedic wisdom and practicing and now teaching Vedic meditation, is that racism is a disease based in intellect and grows as a result of social conditioning, fear of other and stress. The good news is that when we practice Vedic Meditation, we experience a state beyond our thoughts, the State of Being, a state of pure creative intelligence, bliss, maximum potentiality and infinite possibilities. When we have the direct experience of this state of Being, we begin to witness our thoughts and understand we are not governed by them, unlearn the unwanted patterns of our intellect (self negating thoughts, fear of other, object referral happiness etc.) and upgrade to patterns of higher consciousness. This process increases our awareness, liberates us from social conditioning and releases deep rooted stresses stored in the body. Thoughts, stresses and actions associated with racism simply cannot exist when we soak our body and mind in this state of Being on a consistent basis. We are not only softening the area around the thorn when we release stress but we are removing it with surgical precision when we are liberated from social conditioning. This simple and natural technique of Vedic meditation brings about radical change in an easy and effortless way. Once were doing the work to purify body and mind, we can then look outward because knowledge is for action. Lets do the work, raise the collective consciousness and act from a place of love. If we continue to leave the thorn sitting idle and place a Band-Aid on top, only infection can spread. The choice is ours. See more

21.01.2022 When we alternate Vedic Meditation with activity, profound changes occur in the physiology thanks to neural plasticity. If we consistently dipthe physiology into meditation and then fade it with activity, soon the body starts to normalize the meditative state when we have our eyes open. When this occurs, we achieve global synchrony in the brain and our full mental potential is realized. We are most effective, even and efficient in our activity and dont need as much sleep... so were also more productive! We also cant stay stressed in this state. It is like the process of dying a cloth. We dipthe cloth in orange dye and fadeit in the sun. Repeat this process enough times and the cloth becomes colour fast! 20.01.2022 The Real News The constant bombardment of news updates and social media rabbit holes can leave the head spinning. Not only can it sound like the same cycle of news over and over (the ever repeating known), it can be overwhelming trying to decipher what is a credible source of information and how much emphasis to place on this information. The truth is though, as the saying goes, todays news is tomorrows fish and chips paper. Meaning, todays news, which might be of gre...at interest to us at the time, by tomorrow is no longer true or relevant. So, where does this leave us, in a world saturated with information? What do we make of all the news? How do we best access the real news with clarity, and without the overwhelm? When we practice Vedic Meditation, our mind regularly settles down to its least excited state and we make contact with the unbounded field that is the source of all creative intelligence and natural expression. It is the source from which everything is manifesting. So, when continual contact is made with the unbounded state our fine level of feeling or intuition, begins to refine and merge with the qualities of the vast unbounded field of manifestation. We begin to experience and sense the future in the making. It all comes down to awareness. News/information is everywhere, the question is, how perceptive of it are we? With refined sensory perception, a result of regular practice of Vedic Meditation, news begins to come to us. We no longer seek out the news to merely discover what is going on around us, we use the news as a way to validate whether it matches with our experience and our fine level of feeling; whether it matches with of what our inner consciousness state already sensed. 20.01.2022 I started meditating mainly to help cope with the stress and fatigue of working within the disability and education sectors. Whilst I loved my job supporting children with Autism, I was constantly unwell, had lost ten kilos in less than two years of full-time work and lacked the energy and vitality most young men my age possessed. It not only effected my work but meant instead of going out and enjoying myself, I was constantly lying on the couch trying to recover. I kne...w I couldnt continue living this way and I had the overwhelming feeling something needed to change. I found out about Vedic Meditation from a few friends who had recommended it. They were calm and grounded so I thought why not. After learning Vedic Meditation, I was surprised at how quickly I felt the tangible changes in my physical health, mental clarity and in my ability relating to others. Most importantly, I felt more connected to myself, my purpose and was feeling happier, often for no reason. The best part was, I could practise anywhere on my own and was able to dissolve my stress and fatigue in a sustainable and natural way. My work and personal demands hadnt reduced (in fact, my work demands increased), but I was now engaging with them from a place of greater happiness and inner fulfilment. 19.01.2022 Vedic Meditation doesnt just provide us with a systematic way of releasing stress from the physiology. It gives us a twice daily reminder of our true nature. When we allow the mind to settle to its least excited state of awareness, a state beyond thoughts, we make contact with bliss and we realise we are much more than our thoughts and emotions and we are not bound by the physical body. ... We experience ourselves as oneness. Pure consciousness, from which all potentiality and creation arises. In Quantum Mechanics, it is called the Unified Field. As a result, a sense of deep inner contentedness arises and the realisation dawns that fulfilment and happiness is in fact inside and a tangible baseline experience anyone can grasp. 19.01.2022 7 years ago today I learnt Vedic Meditation. I had never meditated before but always had a sense there was something more to my experience of life. At the time, I didn’t know if meditation was going to unlock that ‘something’ but gave it a try nonetheless.... Little did I know that the simple sound whispered into my ear that day would change my life in unquantifiable ways. All I knew is that I had the best sleep I’d ever had the night I learnt Vedic Meditation! That began a cascade of positive changes to my health and wellbeing and the dissolving of unsustainable patterns in my thinking and behaviour. The more I committed to twice a day practice, the more life became frictionless and expansive. I learnt that stress is abnormal and that it is nature’s intention for us to experience the richness of life without being bound by stress. Sure, life isn’t always smooth sailing, but to have a practice to anchor and ground in each and every day means I’m better off for it. Guru in Sanskrit translates to remover of darkness (ignorance) and is anyone or anything that teaches us something. When we are taught something, it enables us to shine our inner light more brightly and become closer on the path to reach our fullest potential. Purnima means fullness. 13.01.2022 As above , so below Yatha pinde, Tartha Brahmande As is the atom, so is the universe As is the microcosmso is the macrocosm ... Weve quickly shifted from localized natural disasters #climatechange to global pandemic #coronavirus and Nature is certainly making it clear that some things need to shift in order to live a more coherent and frictionless existence. So what to do? First, we need to transcend the fear and hysteria. Feel it and let it go, dont buy into it and dont let it govern your mental space. Fear suppresses your immune system and floods your body with stress chemicals and in a time like now, we need strong immune systems! So where does this leave us? Whether we are in quarantine, locked out of sporting events or that gig got cancelled we are being forced to be less active, to slow down and to rest . Less activity brings us to a more coherent state and the more we do this collectively, the more the incoherence externally will diminish. As is the microcosm, so too the macrocosm. Now if this is all sounding a bit much or youd like a practice to help you action the above, Vedic Meditation increases your ability to interact with the demands of the day, rather than react to them. The profound rest experienced when we meditate allows brain wave patterns to become more coherent and mental clarity ensues. We also flood our systems with bliss chemicals, decreasing the likelihood of catching an infectious disease by 30+% and if we do catch something, well recover a lot faster! Lets get through this together, calmly and with great adaptability. Remember to wash your hands and take a short break from all the touching.

11.01.2022 It is interesting to observe the huge frustration people are feeling towards our leaders during this crisis. This is not just about finding a scapegoat, there... is something much more fundamental at play here. Something which is illuminating to explore and which can in fact can give us great hope. It is said that political careers are made or broken during a crisis. A leader in a high state of consciousness who has transcended their own fear will find wisdom, insight, compassion and inspire people to come together. A leader in a lower state of consciousness who is still at the mercy of their own fear will find themselves weakened, impotent and unable to lead their people out of their collective fear. What the people of Australia are rejecting is their leaders state of consciousness. It is being recognised as insufficient for the role. Why is this cause for hope? Because a country only gets the leader that reflects the state of consciousness of its people. The bushfire crisis is snapping people out of their social hypnosis. As always in a crisis there is a refocussing on what is important helping others who are struggling, connecting with one another and the world around us. In other words the consciousness of the Australian people is being forced to rise. As a result we are more likely to choose a leader who can provide genuine leadership not just in a crisis but in everyday affairs too.

05.01.2022 We pause in speech, we pause a movie, but this, this is no pause. For when this is over, things will not recommence as they were. ... The fact is, they never do. They always change. Its all that is ever happening. Progressive change. Just as the river continuously flows downstream towards the ocean, so too, the laws of nature, through us, continuously move in the direction of greater sophistication, to greater happiness, to wholeness. Such is the evolutionary journey downstream. The change IS happening. The river IS flowing downstream. The choice IS ours. The change IS ours. Do we resist, fight the change and swim upstream? Or do we head off downstream with only what still serves us and leave behind what is no longer relevant (old patterns, old behaviours)? The journey isnt always easy, but it is made easier when we move in accordance with the laws of nature and surrender to the possibility that even when the journey downstream is bumpy and out of our control, there might be some good in it somewhere and be open to acknowledging, feeling and embodying that goodness.
