17.01.2022 GOVT RESTRICTIONS UPDATE 1/6/2020 Dear families, l have received many enquires today regarding classes recommencing tomorrow 1/6 from our indoor studios.. your confusion is very understandable considering Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Cafes , Indoor Pools and Poker Machines are all re-opening from June 1st! However, Dance Schools are STILL not permitted to run indoor classes until 22/6 then with very strict restrictions. ... 11.01.2022 Good morning HEALTH UPDATE -DAPHNE LEAROYD SCHOOL OF DANCE I refer to my previous correspondence regarding our current health crisis. Thus far this wk lve very successfully implemented all new stringent attendance rules. This afternoons classes are more challenging due to the age & quantity of children attending. A very important NOTICE OF INSTRUCTION will greet you in the foyer of Visy... I will not go into great lengths but the key points are as follows- 4pm classes - parents & students to arrive- sanitize & wait in fully sanitized meeting room The teachers will collect ALL children from this area ONLY! NO PARENTS are to enter our studios excepting Pre Primary Ballet if it's absolutely necessary- the class size is very small thus we may need to accommodate a couple of anxious little ones which lm confident we can do safely. 4.45am ARRIVALS onwards 1) Ever student on arrival to thoroughly sanitizer hands 2) A member of my staff will greet students at meeting room door & will sit the children in this sanitized area before processing to classes. 3) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHAT SO EVER are parents/guardian to enter this area. Please be assured students will remain under FULL supervision for duration of time with us. PARENTS ARE TO DROP AND LEAVE PLEASE! 4) ALL STUDENTS will be delivered back to OUTSIDE FOYER AREA for collection. ALL parents to please wait OUTSIDE for collection. Thus l urge all families to be on time to collect students! 5) NO SNACKS are to be brought into the venue this evening , it is just too mammoth of an exercise to ensure every child's hands are sanitized to eat! 6) Children to arrive ready to commence class, this includes having gone to Bathroom etc B4 arriving. We are in unprecedented times, thus l must for the safety of our entire Ballet Family implement the above measures. Our children are so sadly witnessing uncertainty & so much disruption to their lives as they knew it thus if l can keep our school open , it gives our children some kind of normality & hopefully release and joy from.this situation. On closing, if any families have a supply of sanitizer, disinfectant spray/wipes, l would be must greatful for the tiniest of donations as we are going through several of these items per night. I thank all families in anticipation of your 1000% co operation this evening. 09.01.2022 I wish to sincerely thank all of our families who attended this evenings classes plus those who advised they could not due to minor illness or the current situation we face - l respect each families position greatly. At first some children looked a little overwhelmed at our stringent new protocol to protect us all but by 5 minutes into classes, the smile's reappeared and the worries of the world were wiped away. I have taught since age 14, more years than ld like to rememb...er, in that time our school has had many wonderful achievements but l must say the sense of achievement l felt this evening, for not only myself but my wonderful staff- plus students & parents was quiet overwhelming. It's been a difficult week, lve questioned if l should be continuing, seeking professional health advise daily, all urging & reassuring me to continue to give our children some normality in these uncertain times. The stringent sanitizing and cleaning rules which had to continue throughout the duration of all lessons this wk, all necessary but a challenge to implement. The Social Distancing, my biggest challenge but l overcome this by purchasing hoops for all students to use in class today, hoops being our home and we had to remain in our own gardens! The children loved this concept. But l think the most moving part of this week has been so many students of all ages, personally thanking me for continuing with classes & urging me to continue, some adding dance being all they have at this time & they love it! God willing we shall continue all classes as usual next wk, with our Annual Easter Egg hunts & competitions, just delivered a little differently this year. I will see you all next wk x See more

03.01.2022 *IMPORTANT INFORMATION* We here at Daphne Learoyd school of Dance take the health and safety of our dance family very seriously and in light of the current concerns over Coronavirus and consultation with health authorities we are asking for your help in the following. *Please ask children before attending if they feel well - if they feel even slightly unwell please stay home... *We ask that you make use of the hand sanitizer at the studio when you enter (parents please help young children with this) *Drop and go where possible - to decrease numbers in the building at one time *Make sure to Bring your own water bottle *Self isolate if applicable Staff will be: *Thoroughly washing hands before each class *Wiping down all props, barres etc. used in each class with antiseptic wipes *Limiting holding of hands, physical contact & 'high fives' *We will close if advised by authorities to do so Thank you for your help with this!! 03.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION Att- Our Entire Ballet Community, It is with a very heavy heart that l must conclude term one effective immediately due to the evolving Covid19 virus.... In the past hours all non essential activities have been banned which sadly includes Dance Schools. I was adamant on maintaining some normality for my dear students , and did so with great success last wk , but not to be this week. With the uncertainty of when we can return to our studio, l am making preparations to move our Term 2 Lessons online. As you all know, lm not terribly tech savvy so it's going to be a challenge for me but with the help of our friends at Black Cat Studio's Seymour lm going to master it in the next 3 wks! I will be in contact with all of our families within the next 10 days or so. Those who have registered for term 2 will automatically be advised of links to their lessons. I am confident that we can continue our preparations for August/Sept Grade Examination Sessions plus Vocational October Examinations , just delivered a little differently for a short period of time. For our younger grades , lm in the process of organising some fun video lessons along with some competition etc to keep us all motivated and in touch.
