19.01.2022 Owning a micro-business is full of delicious small decisions. One I've been mulling over for a while, is: Do we stick with 'Dapper Dingo Dungog' (who doesn't love alliteration, right!?) or do we start using the more geographically correct location of Monkerai? Monkerai is a beautiful mountain valley between the towns of Dungog, Gloucester and Stroud. I grew up here, our family farm is still here, and it has a special place in my heart. Trouble is, A) most people don't know... where Monkerai is; and b) if you hashtag Monkerai a lot of the connected content is around the Monkerai Springers B&S Ball (think utes and rum, and a lot of wild fun, for anyone who doesn't know what a B&S is). There is a great holiday destination at Monkerai, but most guests of Riverwood Downs think that the area is called 'Riverwood Downs', they don't realise they are staying at Monkerai. So... should the girl from the mountain valley try to put Monkerai on the map for something other than alcohol poisoning, or stick with Dungog (which works) and just smile politely at anyone who points out that Monkerai is 'NOT ACTUALLY' Dungog? #microbusinessdilema #australianmade #dogs See more
