On arrival at Dons Farm Rotarians and friends gathered to have a BBQ lunch and listen to music supplied by Dapto Rotarians Denis Dowsett and Phil De Cesare and a band of local country artists. Rotarians also shared the many projects they manage that support our local communities. A great day was had by all.

20.01.2022 Last week we had the pleasure of awarding vocational and community awards. This year for our vocational awards we decided to award a group rather than an individual. Pictured below is Harvey Bailey who represented Dapto Rural Fire Brigade who have been out fighting fires since September and are yet to return. Our community service award went to Corrective Services who have worked with Rotary and Aruma to set up a community garden at their Marshall Mount property. The scheme involves teaching people how to grow and harvest their own produce. Also pictured below is Mark from Corrective Services along with his colleagues We want to thank both of these organisations for all that they do.

07.01.2022 Why Join Rotary? Good question, we are all busy with our professional, family and social lives. 2020 has also been an extremely challenging year for the world, in particular for Australians on top of a drought and bushfires. The work that Rotarians have done locally, nationally and internationally has been extraordinary. Why take the time? Rotary allows ordinary people to do extraordinary things by coming together. To live in the society you want to have, you have to help bui...ld it (Jennifer Jones, Rotary International’s president for 2022-23) . Rotary offers you that opportunity. It is an invitation to endless opportunities (Holger Knaack Rotary International’s President 2020-21). A chance to support your local community and be involved in national and international projects. We can't have world peace if people in developing countries do not have fresh water, education and health care. Rotarians work tirelessly in these areas of need. The other benefits in being a Rotarian is the fellowship and fun. Getting to know fellow Rotarians in your club and in this amazing diverse organisation. Also, Rotary offers personal and professional opportunities for all age groups. So come and join us, we have a wealth of projects and opportunities for you. If you want to attend a meeting or talk to a Dapto Rotarian about why they joined and stayed in Rotary for many years, go to 'Contact Us' and send us a message. If you do not want to commit to being a member then join as a 'Friend of Rotary' and help us with the projects that interest you...as little or as much as you want. Contact us and find out more: daptorotary.com.au
