23.01.2022 MEET THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR TEAM!!! Stacey became part of the Dapto vet clinic team in 2018 where she carried out her work placement for her certificate 3 in animal studies and certificate 4 in veterinary nursing which she recently completed. Stacey is a very enthusiastic nurse, always ensuring her patients are well looked after. She aims to one day work with therapy animals for disabled children.... Stacey has many pets of her own including but not limited to: 2 French bulldogs, Sirius and Hedwig, Lavender the Hungarian Vizsla, a cat called Ron, Dudley the pig, 9 chickens and some fish. During her spare time Stacey enjoys going for hikes with her dogs or convincing her partner Jessy that they need to add more animals to her at home zoo.

22.01.2022 We thought this one may relevant to some of you as we all love our pets and many of us can’t live without them!! Dapto Veterinary Clinic was recently contacted by Pets in Strata in relation to their calling for an end to blanket pet bans in NSW strata schemes. If they get another 7,000 online petition signatures in the next 3 weeks, NSW will catch up with the rest of Australia and we will be able to have pets in more apartments across the state. Please see the online petit...ion below: www.bit.ly/nswpets Below has been taken from https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/ Every Australian State and Territory now has some form of protection for pet ownership in strata except for NSW, the most densely-populated State with the greatest proportion of people living in strata. This not only negatively impacts people currently in NSW strata schemes, but also the many more pet-owners wanting to move to strata living like older Australians looking to downsize, those whose financial circumstances have changed and those looking to get a foot in the door of the housing market or preferring the convenience of apartment living. It is difficult for pet-lovers to overturn blanket pet bans in strata as it only takes a small minority 25% of voting owners to object for the by-law to remain. This minority should not be able to dictate to the rest what their family unit should look like, nor deny them the benefits and pleasures of pet ownership. It is high time NSW caught up with the rest of Australia."

20.01.2022 Apache was brought into us for an issue with his eye known as uveitis also called moon blindness. Moon blindness involves inflammation of certain parts of the eye. The condition is very painful and often the pain is reoccurring and unmanageable. Apache required his eye to be removed to be free from pain. The surgery went very well and he has made a full recovery.

17.01.2022 On the 2nd October 2020, Terry Davis joined the Dapto Vet Clinic team. We are extremely pleased to have her onboard! Terry has been a human nurse for like forever and always wanted to be a vet nurse! Terry has pretty much worked at every hospital in the Illawarra. Terry figured it was a now or never decision, so when the opportunity arose to make the transition from caring for humans to caring for animals at Dapto Veterinary Clinic, she jumped on it and is not looking back!... Terry has an extremely pregnant foster cat, 2 horses and a dog. Like all Dapto Vet Clinic team members, Terry was born and bred in the illawarra. Please join us in welcoming Terry Davis to the clinic.

05.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that we will be recommencing our puppy school later this month!! Our puppy school aims to teach you and your new pup a basic skill set of commands as well as help you answer all of those puppy raising questions you may have. The best age to start your pup in puppy school is 10-12wks as this is when they are the most impressionable. All pups must have had their first C3 vaccination and are required to be on a collar and lead for safety and trai...ning purposes. In regards to the current COVID- 19 pandemic we have implemented some new polices to ensure everyone’s safety and to abide by current social distancing regulations. These include, but are not limited to, having a restricted number of places to ensure current social distancing requirements can be met, one person per puppy, hand sanitisation and thorough disinfecting before and after each class. If you have any questions or would like to be involved in our puppy school please contact the clinic on 42614055. See more
