That’s not reality though. My world is ever changing. My efforts are often failing. My life is regularly messy. . Amidst this, the truth of the gospel brings a peace that surpasses understanding and a hope that truly anchors my soul. I rest in the knowledge that God has a good and perfect plan. I... see that ultimately displayed in His redemption through Jesus. In His grace, He sent His son to take the place for me, a scared and sinful being. . 14.01.2022 THE GOSPEL AND ME: Meet Chris! Chris has shared with us why he believes the gospel. . ‘Why do I believe the gospel? Because it makes sense of the world around me. We live in a broken, marred and damaged world and we see that all the time (from injustices like sexual harassment (think the Me too movement), to racism (think Black Lives Matter), to the sheer selfishness of panic buying). It makes me ask the question: Why are humans so bent? .... A lot of philosophies try to answer this question and I have read and thought and pondered on lots of them and found them wanting. I am most compelled by Jesus who says all of these wickedness come from within us (Mark 7:20). We are the problem-not someone else out there, but within. Even in this state Jesus came to forgive, heal, restore and change me. I’m forever changed by the cross and being changed by the cross. . So my heart is still flawed, but I am being changed by the Spirit of God to be more loving, generous and gracious. The cross has freed me from loving myself to love others rightly. I copy and model Jesus love for me to the world. . So thats why I believe the gospel. Above all it helps me fit the pieces of the puzzle together in how I see the world.’ See more

Kellie has shared with us her answer to the question: Why do I believe in the gospel? . ‘The Bible is like no other book on this Earth.It is still so relevant today as it was over 2000 years ago. . I am constantlyimpressed by the profound wisdom, the practical applications, and the consistent themes from beginning to end.I am extremely grateful to those who safeguarded it through centuries past so that I have access to read it today.... . The gospel means "good news", and I find it so reassuring that no matter how I am in life, or any situation I face, good, bad or ugly, Jesus has something to say about it, and even if it may be challenging to hear or hard to accept, that in itself is still 'good news'. . It is where I can go to for guidance, wisdom, comfort and assurance, knowing that with certainty what is written in there is 100% true and has my best interests behind it, because it's the word of God, and He is my creator and knows humans better than anyone.’ . I’m at Monash Parkville Campus doing Pharmacy Course. . Favourite subject? Anything about Medication is mesmerising. I’ll be doing Comprehensive Care Units this year, which looks deeper into medication to treat specific condiions, it’ll be interesting and practical so I’m looking forwards to start University. . Favourite part about CU? Bible Study as I get to know more about other students, to encourage one another to grow in our faith in order to share about Jesus on campus. . How can we pray for you?
