15.01.2022 Today was World refrigeration day ! As fridgy’s this is what we do: The milk in your coffee story... It came out of the cow @ 37degs c it was put straight into a refrigerated vat and cooled to 2 deg c It was picked up in an unrefrigerated milk tanker and taken to the factory It was put into a refrigerated milk silo It was homogenised Pasteurised and whatever arised and during this process was refrigerated several times It was put into a container then placed in a refrigerated cool room It was picked up by a refrigerated truck and taken to a refrigerated ware house It was picked up from the refrigerated warehouse by another refrigerated truck and taken to the supermarket and put in a refrigerated cool room It was taken out of the refrigerated cool room and put in a refrigerated display case You the consumer picked up the carton walked through the refrigerated air-conditioned supermarket Got into your refrigerated air condition car ( you may have also put it in your portable refrigerated Esky ) Drove home and walked through your refrigerated airconditioned home and put the milk in your refrigerator and the only time you, the consumer recognised the refrigeration industry was when you put the milk in your refrigerator We as an industry consume 22% of this countries generated electricity We contribute to 13.5 % of our greenhouse gas emissions We can be in excess of 40% of your electricity bill We have been identified as the number one solution to global warming We beat electric cars by a factor of 8.5 We beat roof top solar by a factor of 7.5 We beat solar farms by a factor of 6 We beat wind generation by a factor of 2 We are 2% of GDP We work with high pressure gassed up to 100bar We work with toxic gasses We work with flammable gases And we do not have an national occupational licence Go figure ????
