24.01.2022 *Interestingly, the full resolution of this stitch pano (of the lovely Samina and her not at all awkward in front of the camera beau Martin) is north of 300MB. Took me half a day on my aging iMac to get it aligned to my satisfaction. Worth it though. *if you are a fellow camera loving nerd, then yes. It is, in fact, interesting. Otherwise, ah well.

23.01.2022 When I was studying photography, I once did a series on transparency film - portraits only illuminated by torchlight. They were insanely dark. You had to work to make out detail, even on a light box. I thought my teacher would hate them, actually - he wasnt a fan (as far as I knew) of that kind of thing. But he loved them. Shooting this kind of image always reminds me of that series. Obviously the darkness. But equally, like shooting in transparency film, even with a digital camera you cant be sure just how much detail you will be able to pull out. Oh, and this is totally just a test shot. I was trying to get the flash exposure balanced. Those two were just hanging out. Alone. In the night. Unguarded moments always make the best portraits.
