24.01.2022 What do a shearing contractor, sheep farmer and stud stock agent have in common? They all work with sheep and they all ran in our Farm Boot Foot Race! You don't need to run fast, you just need to finish 1st or 2nd to win some great cash! Run in a dress, in your country cousins boots or even in face paint! We don't care how you run... just have fun! 18.01.2022 This is why we love and chose Healthways ‘Act-Belong-Commit’. You’re never too old to be involved! Thanks Farm Weekly for the great post to share. Act-Belong-Commit... Farm Weekly https://www.facebook.com/263992653887/posts/10158480984388888/?d=n

16.01.2022 Update: It saddens us to advise, due to us all being self isolated and social distanced, that we can not deliver our little blue trees at this time. But we know that they will still be needed, so we plan to implement this as soon as it is safe to do so. Take care and please remember to still talk about it. Mobile Mini Blue Tree Project! Now more than ever we need to be mindful of our mental health. We thought it might help if we can send out our mini Blue Tree’s to a few r...oadhouses in WA, to help keep up the talking and asking - if you are ok. We would love six towns, close to Darkan, who would be willing to look after a mini Blue Tree for two weeks. Then, kindly ask a traveller to take them on to the next town. Who’s in?! 13.01.2022 It wouldn't really matter what we write about Sheepfest, unless we have fantastic photos to go with it. Darkan is extremely lucky to have two local professional rural photographers Astrid Volzke and Caro Telfer who have kindly helped us out since we first began. If you want to truly capture your farm, family or festival - they come highly recommended! This year, our local photography group also provided us with some great shots. A picture really is worth 1000 words! Astrid Volzke Photography Caro Telfer, Photographer

12.01.2022 We thought we knew a lot about wool and how great it is! But we think Tink is very clever when it comes to talking about wool! Might need to get him to start speaking about Sheepfest next!

12.01.2022 Well 2020 Act-Belong-Commit Darkan Sheepfest will certainly be a show to remember! Thank you all for helping by coming along and supporting our efforts to showcase sheep and wool, bring city to country and put on a good old country show for just a gold coin entry! We would like to ask your help one last time! ... In one small sentence, could you please let us know what we did well (so we keep doing it!) and what we could improve on (we want to get better each year!) Send your feedback by email [email protected], text any of our crew below or even send us a message through Facebook. Darkan Sheepfest may be finished but our photos, stories will continue on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so please feel free to keep following. 07.01.2022 Some said we were crazy to have a pet sheep competition... which is all the more reason to have one! We have never seen such well loved, well fed woolly pets. But obviously we had to award the best ones. Best Name - Gordon Ramsey King Best Looking - Daphne Buller Best Behaved - Herbert Harrington... Overall ‘Supreme Pet Sheep’ went to Sooty Carroll. Thanks to Stephen Bolt for being a top quality judge of best pets!

06.01.2022 Schools out! Happy Sheepfest Holidays! Go see the countryside, but make sure the kids don’t bring back a pet lamb! Video Credit: Kylie Schinzig Music Credit: Scott Holmes

05.01.2022 Warralea Poll Merino Stud is a family run business who look after their clients as well as they do their sheep. Make sure you look out for them at Sheepfest, because we are more than happy to look after them as our Grand Sponsor https://www.facebook.com/Warralea-Poll-Merino-Stud-126591614525269/

04.01.2022 We lost our big speakers due to the power and therefore some of you may not have heard our great commentary on the Young Farmer Challenge, so here’s a quick recap... Challenge 1: Water Fitting Fix was quite fitting given the season, but they had to be in the shape of an SF! Challenge 2: Egg and Spoon Race to slow some down and let others catch up - it was obvious this lot haven’t baked or collected the eggs in quite a while!... Challenge 3: Know Your Grains and they did - didn’t slow any of them down at all! Challenge 4: Snake Bite Save, lets just say we’re quite lucky to have our local trained St John’s volunteers - who know how to transport a patient safely and correctly! Thanks to Paul South, Janelle South and Amy Lubcke for coordinating. Thanks to Katanning (Red) team for coming over and being up for the challenge! 1st Blue, 2nd Green, 3rd Red, 4th Purple.
