25.01.2022 Hi All We have had a reply from BQ please see below. What does it mean. We will be releasing more info later today in regards roll ups & games. the short answer is booking will have to be made and only 10 people in or arround the club at any one time excluding staff and management.... More info as we get it Hi All After consultation with various QLD State Government Departments, Clubs QLD and QSport, Bowls Queensland would like to advise clubs the following: The Stage 1 limit of 10 people is for each business premises, which includes both indoor and outdoor spaces, this includes bowling greens. This means if your club decides to open up your restaurant/café for dining, you can only have 10 people in the club dining and no one playing bowls. The stage 1 limit of 10 people applies for the whole venue but excludes staff (i.e. you may have up to 10 patrons plus staff). The venue must continue to meet minimum health requirements including applying the one person per 4 square metres rule which applies to ALL people at a premise (staff and customers included). In relation to the restrictions regarding playing bowls, more information will be released by the QLD Chief Health Officer this Friday. This will include advice for all sports. Bowls QLD recommends clubs wait for this advice before planning the opening of their greens. For clubs looking to open for dining, please find attached the final draft of the COVID-Safe Checklist for clubs to follow. Please note, the above advice may be different for outback areas of QLD: https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/governmen/outback-queensland Easing of restrictions frequently asked questions: CLICK HERE Regards Brett Wilkie CEO Bowls Queensland 72 Pickering Street Enoggera QLD 4051 07 3354 0777 0427 965 169 www.bowlsqld.org [email protected]

19.01.2022 A reminder for clubs to make sure they are adhering to COVID-19 restrictions. Police attended Southport Bowls Club earlier this week after complaints about two ...dozen bowlers on the greens. The Queensland Police Service said police had discussions with Southport Bowls Club management over the gathering of about 25 people. This was deemed to be not adhering State Government restrictions. This was reported in the Gold Coast Bulletin newspaper yesterday. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/subscribe/news/1/

15.01.2022 Hi All Please see below the latest from BQ Good afternoon Club and District Secretary... Bowls Queensland would like to clarify the confusion that has been created from a statement put out by Bowls Australia on Monday 27 April regarding Relaxed COVID-19 Restrictions on Bowls across Australia. This includes a newspaper article in the Gladstone Observer Newspaper today: https://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/sport/ Bowls Queensland’s position remains unchanged regarding information put out in BQ Memo 20011 on April 6: Bowls Queensland does not condone roll ups and should a club allow them it is the full responsibility of the clubs concerned and not BQ. The QLD State Government have agreed to relax some restrictions within the State on May 2, but none relate to playing bowls that we are aware of. Bowls Queensland continues to liaise with the QLD State Government and will advise districts and clubs when we condone roll ups to commence within QLD Affiliated clubs. Kind regards Cath Crowe - Operations Administrator Bowls Queensland 72 Pickering Street Enoggera QLD 4051 07 3354 0777 www.bowlsqld.org [email protected]

14.01.2022 Hi All The answer at the moment is still no roll ups. we will keep you informed of any changes Kind Regards DCBC

06.01.2022 Hi Members Reply from BQ Good morning Neil ... At this stage, Bowls Queensland’s position has not changed since our latest attached Memo regarding this issue: The Board of Bowls Queensland maintains their position and advise Clubs and Districts that BQ will not be commencing any type of competition until such time as the COVID-19 situation allows all bowlers to once again play. Bowls Queensland does not condone roll ups and should a club allow them it is the full responsibility of the clubs concerned and not BQ. Clubs have a duty of care to their members and as such should they wish to follow the advice from OLGR, it is the sole responsibility of the respective Club Committees for their actions regarding use of the playing areas of the club. Noting that any breaches of the restrictions could result in substantial fines for members and the club. Office of Liquor and Gaming link https://www.business.qld.gov.au//liquor/coronavirus-advice Clubs should also consider the general advice that, unless it is an essential activity, to stay at home.

04.01.2022 Hi All Bowls is Go Please phone the club between 10am and 4pm Mon to Sat to make bookings 33754307... Pleas see below released by BQ today also printed guide line will be available from the Club. Happy Bowling Attention Club and District Secretaries Following the Federal and QLD State Government announcing Easing of Restrictions in regard to COVID-19, Bowls QLD have liaised with the QLD Government and now allow roll ups ONLY at QLD affiliated clubs under strict guidelines, from Saturday 16 May 2020. Clubs may have no more than 10 people rolling up on each green at any one time during Stage 1. The 1.5m social distancing rule is to be observed at all times. If a club would like to open for dining purposes, please find attached an email from the QLD Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation which includes requirements and information. Clubs are able to have 10 people dining within their club (20 in nominated outback areas), as well as people rolling up. Please find attached Bowls QLD Easing of COVID-19 Restrictions Return to Roll Up Plan for more information including guidelines and recommendations for clubs. Note clubs should have a COVID SAFE plan in place for roll ups. Please note that organised sport is not included in Stage 1 of Queensland’s easing of restrictions, thus only roll ups can occur in stage 1, no competition. Clubs must be patient and accept this is a staged return. Clubs may, at their own risk and after satisfying their own legal and insurance responsibilities, allow bowling on their outdoor greens (including open air covered greens). Clubs are under no obligation to open their greens but are welcome to if they can do so safely and with proper protocols in place. Bowls QLD strongly urge people to abide by the rules set out by each club or risk penalty from relevant authorities. This is the information Bowls Queensland have been provided with at this stage, as soon as any further information is received we will advise clubs. 01.01.2022 Hi All Keeping you up to date I sent an email this morning to BQ here is the reply... Good morning Neil Always happy to answer any questions that you may have. The Board will be meeting on Wednesday 20th May Bowls Queensland continues to liaise with the QLD Government, QSport, Clubs QLD and Bowls Australia. We are hopeful that restrictions may be eased in the near future and Bowls QLD will then reassess their recommendation. I understand you are all frustrated not being able to bowl but hopefully if everyone does the right thing, we can be back out there sooner rather than later.
