21.01.2022 Our club has some great members who are willing to come out to the track with you and guide you from the start. Many people associate karting with young drivers..., but adults are also very active in karting. People of all ages can enjoy the sport with children as young as six getting behind the wheel. Karting teaches these children, both boys and girls, basic driving skills well before they are able to obtain their road licence. Karting is competitive, but it is also fun and family orientated, with involvement in the sport both on and off the track giving it a strong feeling of community. For those aiming at a career in motorsport, almost everyone who races cars started racing in Karts - it’s the best fun you will have on four wheels! 20.01.2022 Afternoon Karters. Unfortunately we have to share some terrible news, it was discovered this morning that the clubs scales shed and first aid room have been bro...ken into. The thieves have taken 2 first aid kits, our set of radios and our KA testing equipment. If you see any of these for sale online or have noticed anything suspicious in the recent few days please contact the club or Morwell Police. Also please share this post, we need this equipment to operate and it is a financial blow to the club to replace it.

But please be aware that we are stil...l operating to a TEN on track Covid limit.* We ask you please to not enter more than one class, as the 10 grid limit makes it very difficult to work with and every extra kart makes a difference. We'd still like to see some good fields and close racing though so remember entries close TONIGHT. *We will publish exactly how classes will be grouped and scheduled once we know final entries- that should get done later in the week.

09.01.2022 X30 light has officially been added to the Victorian Country Series classes this year with a weight of 162kg. X30 made its debut in Portland's Yarraman Park cir...cuit on February 15-16 with 21 entries. Thank you Portland club for a great event. ARTICLE by: Andrew Hayes, AHR Media Photos by: Darrens Sportography Club: Portland District Karting Club VCS R1 (21 Entries) . - QUALIFYING SATURDAY The new for 2020 X30 class looked a ripper on paper and didnt disappoint on track. Jake Spencer signalled his intentions from the get go by recording quick time in qualifying with a time of 35.614. . The proceeding three drivers were covered by six hundredths of a second, with Jacob Dowson grabbing second ahead of the current X30 National Champ Brad Jenner and KA3 Light National Champ Jack Bell. Nathan Williams rounded out the top five, with the top eighteen drivers within seven tenths. . SUNDAY - H1: Heat one presented a wet track and whilst most were on wet tyres, a few took the punt on slicks and rued the decision. Nick Percat did not have a great weekend after being involved in a wreck in heat 1 that ended his weekend. . Spencer and Jenner were the class of the field in the conditions and cruised to a one-two finish. Matthew Hillyer filled third spot after starting eleventh, ahead of Shane Moreland who had also moved up the order. Bell consolidated his spot in the top five by just dropping the one spot from his qualifying. . Fastest Lap: Jake Spencer 40.840 . - H2: Jenner got the best of the heat two start to lead the first two circulations, before Spencer again resumed his place in the lead. Spencers supreme pace saw him edge away from Jenner to claim another heat race win. Jenner had enough up his sleeve to hold off Bell for second. . Having moved from sixth to third on the opening lap, Bell did enough to hold off Dowson and Hillyer to settle positions three to five. . Fastest Lap: Jake Spencer 35.653 . - FINAL: The start of the X30 final was highlighted by carnage into the infield hairpin on the opening lap, with several drivers involved and many short cutting the circuit. . When the order sorted itself out, it was again Spencer pacing the field. Spencers perfect weekend continued for the finals full distance, as he put a stamp of authority on the class, in one of the finest performances of any class over the weekend. Dowson scampered up into second place early in the race and comfortably held that position ahead of Jenner in third. Bell finished fourth in his first VCS round with 125cc power, Whilst Hillyer capped a promising weekend with a fifth place finish. . Fastest Lap: Jake Spencer 36.093 .
