24.01.2022 Well, what a great night at SSSA. First many thanks to Beaman Painting (Wayne) for the FREE sausage sizzle which went down really well. See advert for all your local decorating needs. Another great effort to Rob the barman keeping us hydrated. RESULTS..We saw the A final..... Cricketers 7 v Residents 5 a very enjoyable and noisy game to watch. After the cricketers going 1-3 down after the four first singles. But bringing it back to 5-5 with only a triples and team game to f...ollow and yes were both won. Congratulation to the cricketers and guests (Missy and Peter). B final was possibly the most funniest and longest game of darts I have ever seen..... Social 8 v Bowlers 3, Social team was always in the lead with a lot of the games finishing on double one, but a great game to keep you amused, well done the social. A 180 was thrown but was not recorded as the first SSSA max, sorry Mato was thrown in practice. GREAT NIGHT. See more

22.01.2022 Great night at the Community Centre, here pictured are the winners of our prize draw done on the 6th Dec. Many thanks for all your support. All proceeds are for the purchase of the darts equipment, with the first game being 13th Dec where 4 teams will compete for the Christmas Finals on the 20th Dec. Come on down and support the new darts section.

19.01.2022 First game of darts at Darts at Singleton this Friday 13th Dec at 7.30pm. All welcome. PM me or page if you would like a game as a few slots still available. These are 4 x teams of six within the SSSA and local residents playing against each other over the next two Fridays. if a success then a inter league will be formed for your enjoyment next year 2020.

19.01.2022 Anyone wishing to play darts at Singleton, well this is the first opportunity since the VIRUS Lockdown. The three fixtures prior to the virus was a great success along with the JENGA Challenge. Open to all SSSA members (FREE) and if not a SSSA member then you can join on the night for just $10 for the year. Hopefully looking for teams from the Bowls, Cricket, Social Club, Tennis, Residents Ass and Junior Soccer (parents). This can lead onto a weekly event and hopefully along with the Social Club become a place to come and socialise every Friday and more (looking to open for a Sunday lunchtime with the family). Please support this event, but please ring me on 0432489432 (Bob) if you would like to play or just come down and watch and have a beer.

11.01.2022 What a great day at our Australia Day mixed Darts, Bowls and Jenga event, fun was had by all! Who would believe a game like Jenga would create so much excitement. Results for our first open mixed pairs competition - an unbelievable win for Martin Bigg and Jess taking out Kirsty Tiller and Kenneth Cole in the darts final. The Jenga mixed pairs saw Dave and Janet Richards beating Kane and Julie in the most exciting competition I have seen for a long time. The bowls mixed pairs ...final went to husband and wife Bill and Yvette beating myself and Jenny using my own woods. Many thanks to bar man Rob and the many cooks on the BBQ supplying us with a tasty sausage sizzle. Another thanks to all that supported this event and their great sportsmanship with help raising money for the Fire Fighting services with the $1 100 square lucky numbers. Hopefully this can be an annual event on Australia Day at the Singleton Community Centre. See more

10.01.2022 Well what a great night at our centre (16th Oct), we had our first game back from the Covid at SSSA. And the defending champs "Cricketers" bought out their elite dart players (and Missy) hoping to retain the title. After going 1-4 down within 30 minutes of the evening they all looked a little dejected, even at a point where the Residents team were singing out "going down, going down, going down". But then stepped in Dan, Missy and Nat taking the next three singles, bringing i...t to a 4-4 draw at half time and the sausage rolls, now with only the pairs, fours and team game. Well the residents fell apart and Murray/Mike in the pairs were the only winners in the remaining games on the night. The cricketers won the night 10-5 and retained the title, well done to captain Mato and his team. Thank you to our sponsors last night for the sausage sizzle, went down well. Many thanks for all the helpers from the Social Club to making this a great success. See more

08.01.2022 What a great night on Friday at our first darts evening. First of all thanks to Rob on the bar and Deb in the kitchen, beer and food went down well. Results were.... Residents beating the Social side 7-4 and Cricketers/guests beating the Bowlers/Tennis side 5-4 on a tie breaker (what a game). So this coming Friday (20th Dec) will see the FINAL between Residents v Cricketers and the 3/4th play off between Bowlers v Social at a start time of 7.30pm. We are having a FREE sausage sizzle and more of those lovely party pies/sausage rolls. All welcome to support your sides and enjoy the entertainment. And lastly a thanks to Kane and his merry men on keeping the barman busy.

03.01.2022 MELBOURNE CUP at CBBC Well, what a great day had by all. Firstly, the Calcutta auction, was a great success rising over $1000 in prize money. It was a good night on Friday (30/10) with nine bowlers in with a chance of the top prize of $466, second $196 and 3rd $120. And even better news the winner was our very own Gwen Phillips. The three amigos (Robbie Tiller, Steve Foster and Tangles) taking 3rd prize and 2nd was a resident from Lakelands. So, onto the Cup day, we had 45 pe...ople attend our event and with a show of strength from the tennis club. We managed to complete 12 sweep stake sheets with the prizes of $60/$30/$15 for the $5 sheets and $25/$10/$5 for the $2 sheets and were won by various people. Door prize went to Kevin Phillips and best hat for the men went to Mike from the tennis and Ashtyn one of our quests won the ladies bottle of champagne. Food, well what can I say, this was amazing. A great job by Sabrina and all her helpers and not forgetting Nolene and her sweets. We raised close to $1000 for our bowls section from the Calcutta auction, sweep stakes and luncheon. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and did not lose too much money and we have many more events to look forward to. Bob See more
